TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- State Sen. Mandy Dawson was reprimanded and stripped of a key committee assignment today for an "unlawful" solicitation of money from lobbyists to help pay for an overseas trip for her and a friend.
In addition to the formal reprimand, the Fort Lauderdale Democrat was removed from the body's Ethic and Elections Committee.
Wow, that will put the fear of God in the rest of those naughty politicians. Here they go protecting their own again. Why isn't this woman drummed out? It isn't like this is the first time she's ever been caught doing something illegal. It's the time out philosophy vs. the woodshed, and it ain't workin'.
