The Law Doesn't Apply To The Kennedys

UPDATE, Boston Herald: A hostess at a popular Capitol Hill watering hole has said she saw Patrick Kennedy drinking in the hours before the accident.

From this morning's New York Daily News comes word that Teddy Kennedy's son, Patrick, wrecked his car in an accident. Capitol police are claiming their supervisors nixed a sobriety test and arrangements were made for him to be driven home.

Although Kennedy denies drinking, there are statements that describe him as staggering and that he had an odor of alchohol about him. When first approached by the police, Kennedy "declared to them he was a congressman and was late to a vote," says a statement. "The House had adjourned nearly three hours before this incident."

Why then was no test given? Would the average citizen have been treated this way? The answer, of course, is no and once again a Kennedy gets preferential treatment.

Patrick Kennedy has a history of cocaine use and alcohol abuse and has been in rehab. This is the second car he's wrecked in a matter of months.

Then there's the assault on a female airport screener and the Coast Guard having to send
a rescue boat to take Patrick's distraught date off his chartered yacht, all part of his glorious past.

Well, as they say, the nut doesn't fall far from the tree, but how many "Get Out of Jail Free" cards do these guys get? Even when they kill someone they don't get arrested!
