Open Border, Open Fort

Fort Huachuca in Cochise County is not immune from the invasion of illegals and smugglers. The Sierra Vista Herald reports that, in the past 9 months, more than 2000 invaders have been detained at the fort.
In the latest incident reported in this article 58 were apprehended.
Why doesn't the government seem concerned about this? Is there not something wrong with over 50 people being able to penetrate into a restricted military area almost at will?
The issue of our sovereignty must be addressed. I'm hoping that the blogosphere will take this on as a crusade.

Rome fell because of illegal immigration and porous borders. How long before we meet their fate?

The situation wasn't much better when I was stationed at Fort Huachuca from '93 to '96. Suffice it to say that Uncle Sam is MUCH more diligent in protecting its' military reservations than the homes and ranches of the poor folks who own homes and ranches near the border.

What scares me, William, is the fact that they can penetrate a military reservation 2000 strong over a 9 month period.
How did you like the area when you were here?
I moved here in 1994 and this place has grown like crazy over the 10 years I've lived here.
