Dubai Enforces Arab Boycott Of Israel

Here's a gem from the Jerusalem Post. The parent company of the Dubai firm that's causing the brouhaha over American ports is part of the Arab boycott against Israel. Why would be doing this kind of business with a country that boycotts our ally?

"Yes, of course the boycott is still in place and is still enforced," Muhammad Rashid a-Din, a staff member of the Dubai Customs Department's Office for the Boycott of Israel, told the Post in a telephone interview.

"If a product contained even some components that were made in Israel, and you wanted to import it to Dubai, it would be a problem," he said.

I am becoming increasingly disgusted with our government. They are more concerned about petty disagreements amongst themselves then they are about our security. The inability of these pompous egomaniacs to set aside politics in order to secure our safety is inexcusable. This is a job that cannot be left to inept bureaucrats who have attained positions due to favors or relationships. But, I'm afraid that is who we have been left to rely upon. God help us!

Specter Of A Sellout Looms In Senate

It is time to keep even a more watchful eye on the Senate Judiciary Committtee as it gets ready to consider a proprosal by the notorious Senator Arlen Specter, R, PA.

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R, CO., has called Specter's package an "unmitigated disaster." That is probably an understatement.

Arlen's proposal will provide the amnesty that Bush wants but won't call it amnesty. It will be a "guest worker program" allowing law breakers to pay some insignificant fine, while continuing to mock our nation and our laws.

I'm afraid another sellout of our country is about to happen and there are not enough true Americans in office to prevent it. By cheapening our citizenship and selling our sovereignty, it is one more slide down the slippery slope of one world government. These villains will not be happy until they have gutted the USA and fed it to the barbarians abroad.

Time Is Not On Our Side

With a hat tip to:
Iran Focus

London, Feb. 23 – The following cartoon appeared in Thursday’s edition of the London-based Arabic daily Asharq al-Awsat:

It is entitled, “Time running out …”.

The bottom half of the hourglass shaped like a nuclear bomb has the word “Iran” written in Arabic and carries the atomic logo.

American Tax Dollars For A Mosque?

Yesterday, President Bush committed to helping rebuild a mosque in Iraq.

"We understand its importance to Iraqi society and we want to stand side by side with the government in making sure that beautiful dome is restored," Bush said.

To the best of my knowledge he has spoken not one word about the churches recently torched in our own nation, much less committed even $1 to rebuild them.

How do we stop our tax money from funding a mosque in Iraq
? How can it even be allowed under our constitution if, according to our courts, a politician can't pray the name of Jesus in a public place?

We need to make our voices heard about this outrage.

Prayer Bill Piques ACLU

In response to a November ruling by a U.S. District Judge, Representative Mike Sodrel, a Republican, has introduced legislation to prevent federal courts from ruling on the content of speech in legislatures.

Judge David Hamilton (appointed by Bill Clinton) had ruled that any prayer that refers to Jesus Christ, Savior, or Son of God is unconstitutional. Any such reference, he said, "amounts in practical terms to an official endorsement of the Christian religion."

Sodrel and Representative Dan Burton called Hamilton’s ruling “a clear example of judicial activism.”

Sodrel said his bill would provide immunity for content of speech for lawmakers or their guests during a legislative session, excluding witnesses and excluding speech that constitutes treason, an admission of a crime or a breach of the peace. The bill would also prohibit the use of federal funds to enforce a decision like Hamilton’s.

Well, guess who's up in arms about using legislation to rein in activist judges' decisions? Survey says, the ACLU of Indiana. Calling it a political ploy, as if they never engage in such activity, the ACLU is feigning horror at the very questioning of the validity of the American justice system. If any one organization is responsible for America's loss of faith in the judicial system, it is the ACLU.

Ken Falk, the ACLU of Indiana’s legal director, has been recognized by the ICLU as leading a legal team that accepts one of the most ambitious dockets of any ACLU affiliate in the country. That, of course, means he and his cronies are litigation happy, a trait that most people would find less than admirable. Falk has history, indeed, from suing to remove a monument of the Judeo-Christian Decalogue in front of the Elkhart, Indiana municipal building to convincing the Supreme Court to strike down Indianapolis' drug interdiction roadblocks.

“If you disagree with a court decision, you appeal the case,” Falk said.

The ACLU wants to keep everything in courts that are peppered with their friends, colleagues and former members. Thus, they can continue to pervert the will of the American people. They fear the legislature because on most votes they will lose. And, when they lose, the majority of Americans win and the tyranny of the minority loses.

The American Twilight Zone

The religion of peace and tolerance is now blowing up its own places of worship. According to FOXNews, a leading Sunni politician said that 29 mosques have been attacked throughout Iraq. Now, a large explosion has heavily damaged the golden dome of one of Iraq's most famous Shiite shrines.

But, wait, there's more. A report says that President Bush is promising to help rebuild the mosque. How can he justify using taxpayer money for religious purposes? Will the ACLU be willing to challenge this?

The news grows stranger daily; the court endorsing seizure of private property; illegal aliens given amnesty; freedom of speech and of the press and America itself, denigrated by former presidents and vice presidents; Arabs running American ports; American taxpayers forced to finance mosques, while the ten commandments are torn from public display. What next? America has entered into the twilight zone.

Shock And Awe Therapy Prescribed

Madman Mahmoud just won't quit. The muslim Middle East is like one big asylum where the inmates have taken over control of the facility.

Iran’s psychotic President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated that the recent victory by the Islamist group Hamas in the Palestinian elections pushed aside the Oslo Peace Accord and the Roadmap to Peace in the Arab-Israeli conflict, and expressed hope that “soon all of Palestine will be liberated”, Iran’s official news agency reported.

Ahmadinejad said that the “raison d’etre” of the Jewish state was now being questioned. So Israel's right to exist is in question. This is opposed to everything the modern civilized world believes.

Singing from the same insane islamic hymn book, Hamas Political Bureau deputy head Musa Abu Marzouq affirmed to an Egyptian interviewer that the terrorist group that won the recent Palestinian Authority elections believes the entire Jewish state must be eliminated.

Contrary to the babblings of Jimmy Carter, there can be no negotiation with these lunatics. There is a season to which they have turned and it is the season of death. It's time for shock and awe therapy.

Meanwhile Back At Moonbat Headquarters

Here's a letter from one moonbat to another, found at OpEdNews. What a shocker, it's written by a Northern California shrink and lifelong peace activist. Are we absolutely sure mental illness is not communicable?

Dear Dr. Dean, The number 1 priority for this country is to impeach Bush and Cheney for high crimes and misdemeanors. Lying us into war, outing a CIA agent, allowing 9-11 to happen- there is an endless list of treasonous activities. We would like to see every Democratic candidate for Congress in 2006 pledge to work for impeachment. Impeachment cannot happen in the usual way, through the House Judiciary Committee, as long as the Republicans control the committee chairs. But there is an an alternate route. Under the House rules, if a state legislature calls for impeachment, the entire House must stop all other business and consider the resolution. Your home state of Vermont could initiate this procedure, and thereby get Congr. John Conyers House Resolutions 635,636 & 637 out of the Judiciary Committee and onto the House floor. We ask you to use your influence to persuade the Vermont legislature to pass a resolution calling for investigation into treason and other impeachable offenses on the part of Bush and Cheney. Many of us are withholding funds from the Democratic Party until we see some action toward impeachment. This is an ideal way for you, as ex-governor of Vermont and current head of the Democratic National Committee, to use your influence. Sincerely Carol S. Wolman, MD

This liberal looney tune has even better stuff out there as in Pathways To Impeachment, where she says, "we do know that key Democratic Senatorial leaders were anthraxed with bugs from Fort Dietrick 2 weeks after 9-11, and that Paul Wellstone and his family were yanked out of the sky 2 weeks before an election. People based in Washington DC probably have good reason to be frightened."

And for some more insight, if you can stand it, go to her bible quotes for the new millenium blog. See what happens when theology goes bad.

Turkish Air Base Targeted Again

It has been reported that al-Qaeda has been preparing for a missile attack on Incirlik Air Base, home of the 39th ABW. The base, near Adana, Turkey is not far from Iraq and Iran and has been placed on high alert.

There have been reports of threats, by al-Qaeda, against this important base before. It seems, in the past, security has made attacks too difficult and alternate targets were chosen.

Cover Up And Shut Up

This from The Independent, FoxNews and Freemuse:

A Muslim pop singer has been forced to hire bodyguards to protect her during a visit to Britain next month after she received a string of death threats from religious extremists.

US-based Deeyah is due in London next month to promote a new single and video, released tomorrow. But the track "What Will It Be?" has already outraged hardline Islamists in the UK as it promotes women's rights.

Her performances with a male dancers and revealing outfits have offended many Muslims. In one scene in her latest video, the singer drops her burqa covering to reveal a bikini.

The 28-year-old singer claims that in the past she has been spat upon in the street and told that her family would be in danger if she did not tone down her work. The situation is now so bad that Deeyah feels she cannot visit Britain without protection. "I can no longer walk around without specially assigned bodyguards," she said. "I would be lying if I said abuse from religious fanatics didn't upset or scare me."

It seems this persecution started about ten years ago when an award-winning music video from an album made Deeyah the target of conservative Muslims who were outraged that her uncovered back could be seen. This caused threats, against her and her family, physical assaults, and an attempted abduction at her school.

At a concert in Norway, she was attacked on stage by angry Muslim men.

When Deeyah’s last album came out, her video led to new threats from Muslims who are angry that Deeyah appears in sexy clothes and dances with a black man.

I guess it's so much better for the world when you produce classy, educated females such as these.

Clinton Campaigning To Be Caliph?

Bill Clinton and Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

According to Al-Jazeerah, Bill Clinton called the publication of cartoons of Muhammad a mistake. “I strongly disagree with the creation and publication of cartoons that are considered blasphemous by Muslims around the world. I thought it was a mistake.”

Clinton said he had no objection to Muslims staging massive demonstrations across the world as long as they were peaceful.

Well, thanks, Bill, you obsequious betrayer of our freedoms. This should be a good indication of how our foreign relations policy would become one of fawning and subservience should we suffer the great misfortune of electing another Clinton.

Sunday Funny

The ACLU had an opening for a staff attorney. After perusing hundreds of resumes and conducting many interviews, the director had reduced the pool of qualified candidates to Jerry and Ben. Both had graduated magna cum laude from pretigious law schools and both had impressive resumes and were extremely well spoken. The director took each one aside and asked, "Why did you become a lawyer?"

In a matter of seconds, he chose Ben.

Baffled, Jerry waited until he could talk to Ben alone.

"I don't understand why I was rejected. When I was asked why I became a lawyer, I said that I had the greatest respect for the law, that I'd lay down my life for the Constitution and that all I wanted to do was what was right and ethical . What in the world did you tell him?"

"I said I became a lawyer because of my hands," Ben replied.

"Your hands? What do you mean?"

"Well, I took a look one day and there wasn't any money in either one of them!"

More Muslim Mayhem

Sixteen people were killed and 11 churches were burned Saturday in Nigeria as part of the continuing violence over cartoons of Mohammed. So says CNN.

Is there no end to tolerating these savage attacks? How long will the free world continue to allow the abuse of people and institutions by these mobs?

If this is what the religion of tolerance and peace breeds, then certainly steps must be taken to curtail its dogma. Obviously, it cannot control itself from within, so the discipline must come from without. Let the discipline begin.

Libya Unleashes Its Loonies

Libyan lunatics have put the torch to the Italian consulate in Benghazi. The Libyan government "strongly denounces" the actions of those who burned part of the Italian consulate, said the state-run Libyan news agency. Why do I find that hard to believe? Everything in Libya is state run, including protests and nothing happens without government approval. Of course, all of this is supposed to be cartoon inspired outrage but I can't imagine that Muammar Qadhafi himself did not have hand in it.

Freedom of speech, freedom of the press and, for that matter, freedom of association are unknown in Libya. Fathi al-Jahmi, a political prisoner of Qadhafi land, was charged with spreading misinformation, insulting Qadhafi ("defaming the Leader of the Revolution") and unlawfully communicating with foreigners against the interests of the state. So much for them undertsanding a free society.

Then They Came For...

I'm thinking of making Friday the day I spend contemplating the religion of peace and tolerance. Read the following I found in The Independent.

Gay and lesbian activists, planning to stage Russia's first gay pride parade, have been nixed by Moscow's city government. The reason given was the idea has caused "outrage" in society.

The religion of tolerance and peace, spoken for by Chief Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin, threatened that Muslims would stage violent protests if the march was allowed. "If they come out on to the streets anyway they should be flogged. Any normal person would do that - Muslims and Orthodox Christians alike ... [The protests] might be even more intense than protests abroad against those controversial cartoons."

Apparently, cartoon chaos is the latest threat in the arsenal of the islamomaniacs.

The mufti also said the Koran taught that homosexuals should be killed because their lifestyle spells the extinction of the human race and said that gays had no human rights.

I wonder how much of an outcry we'll hear from the left regarding this oppression. Imagine if Pat Robertson had spoken the mufti's words; all liberal hell would have broken loose.

Russia's gay community has threatened legal action in the European Court of Human Rights. Anthony Romero, the gay director of the ACLU,should be there supporting them. Make the Europeans take a side for the tolerance they preach or the religious fanaticism they enable. Anyone taking bets?

Herald News Reverses Ad Decision

Illinois Newspaper Capitulates, Agrees To Run Pro-Life Ads Refused as “Too Graphic”

That's the headline from LifeSite and a welcome one for sure. If you've missed the story go to my post here.

To view editor Steve Vanisko’s change of mind email go to
http://www.jillstanek.com/)

I love the part where Vanisko writes,"When this newspaper declines and ad, it is done so with no explanation. That is the policy that has been established so comments like "too graphic" don't take on a life form like they did in this instance."

It is troubling that a newspaper does not feel compelled to reveal the facts about why decisions of censorsing ads are made. They would be reluctant to accept such a lack of accountability from others, so why do they give themselves a free pass? It certainly has to make you wonder if Vanisko and his pals are in the business of journalism or propaganda. We're listening, Steve, the silence is deafening.

UPDATE: I just discovered this little tidbit at the Herald News regarding Vanisko's recent promotion:

Vanisko described the new advertising organization as a "customer-driven model" that will provide advertisers with more access to the newspapers within the Sun-Times News Group.

"We're trying to make it easy and efficient for our customers to buy advertising in any of our papers," he said.

Really?!

Protect Our Kids

Marion County, Indiana is proposing an ordinance designed to help protect children. It would make it illegal for convicted sex offenders to loiter at places where kids play. Sounds like a reasonable tool for use in combatting pedophiles doesn't it?

Not according to the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana. They've already filed suit against Plainfield, Indiana over a similar ordinance. Fran Quigley, the Indiana ACLU executive director, trying to pluck the liberal heart strings, says this might keep convicted sex offenders from visiting play areas used by their children or grandchildren. Why should convicted sex offenders be allowed around any children, including their own? Quigley talks about how hard it is for these perverts to rebuild their lives but he says not a word of how difficult it is for their victims to ever lead a normal life again.

Whatever tools can be used to protect the innocence and safety of our kids from those who would violate and kill them, let us have them. As for the perverts, pedophiles and murderers, whose lives have been destroyed by their own crimes, grant them honorary lifetime membership in the ACLU so they can forever be linked with their enablers.

Saudis Call For Cartoon Control Police

Saudi Arabia wants laws and UN mandates to protect Isalm and Mohammed from satire and humor. They want the EU to prevent the publishing of more cartoons. In other words, they want to take away freedom of speech and make the world more like Saudi Arabia. This should come as no shock, considering the repressive Saudi society.

Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, has called for European countries to prevent a repeat of the cartoons published by a Danish newspaper. They want to eliminate freedom of the press.

Saud said that preventive measures were essential to maintain existing good relations between the European countries and the Arab world. In other words, they will behave as long as we write and say what they tell us.

GCC (Persian Gulf Cooperation Council) Secretary-General Abdul Rahman Al-Attiyah wants the European Union to enact laws to prevent the desecration of Islam and its symbols. I guess God needs help protecting Islam.

After a meeting with Javier Solana, the EU foreign policy chief, Attiyah said he was looking forward to joint Islamic-European endeavors to introduce a UN resolution that would incriminate the denigration of all prophets and religions. The fact that an EU official would actually entertain this idea and have this discussion should scare the hell out of Europe and all the free nations of the world.

College Cartoons Carry On Cause

Here's one more the Islamomaniacs are getting irate about. This one is courtesy of The Badger Herald at the University of Wisconsin. Maybe we can get some of these college journalists to be spine donors for the MSM.

Who believes that this is the truth?

CNN is not showing the negative caricatures of the likeness of the Prophet Mohammed because the network believes its role is to cover the events surrounding the publication of the cartoons while not unnecessarily adding fuel to the controversy itself.

The truth is CNN is afraid. And why is CNN constantly referring to Mohammed as the prophet, as if the whole world believed it? How long before they start including "Peace be upon him"? This butt kissing is beyond shameful.

Cartoon Cavalcade Continues

It is frightening that we have college students who do not understand the free speech concept.

At the University of North Carolina, the Muslim Students Association is requesting that the student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel, apologize. Why? For publishing an original cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad (Cartoon shown above).

Now, it is my understanding that Muhammed is not God but merely a human being like the rest of us. If it is the fear of idolatry that warrants not making images of him then why are they idolizing Muhammmed in the first place? That is what they have done, becoming dangerous fanatics for the prophet. How weak is a theology that cannot survive an attack on its prophet let alone God himself?

How long will it be before they want to oulaw making an image of anyone or anything? After all, people make idols out of all sorts of items, from automobiles to money itself.

Remember the Buddhist statues detroyed by the Muslims in Afghanistan? The Taliban said that Afghan history was secondary to Islamic history. Is that how American muslims feel about our history?

And, where is the ACLU? Why are they not out in force protecting our freedoms?

AL "Golem" Gore

This from NewsMax.

Former Vice President Al Gore told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S. government committed "terrible abuses" against Arabs after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such treatment.

Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions. The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into al-Qaida's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications.

"The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake," Gore said during the Jiddah Economic Forum. "The worst thing we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States."

Who in the world does Al Gore thinks he speaks for when he makes these outlandish accusations? He lost the election, so he doesn't speak for the American people.

What motivates this craven coalition of misfits and losers, the Al Gores, Jimmy Carters and Cindy Sheehans, to criticize their country on foreign soil? Do they lack even the most common sense that would temper their remarks to show the slightest respect for their nation and their countrymen.

He speaks in Saudi Arabia, the home of Wahhabism, where Christians and Jews are anathema and women have few rights and he accuses his country of "terrible abuses." Such behavior is inexcusable and unforgivable. We must save the Republic from Americans such as him.

John Peter Zenger And The Free Press

Freedom of the press is protected by the First Amendment, the first in a series of ten we call the Bill of Rights.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In 1787, when Congress was considering amendments to the United States Constitution, they remembered John Peter Zenger's trial. It was a landmark case in American jurisprudence.

Zenger, published a newspaper in New York City in the early 1700s. His paper, the New York Weekly Journal, exposed the corruption of the British colonial government. He was charged with seditious libel. Despite the best efforts of the Crown Governor of New York, who appointed the trial judge, the jury acquitted Zenger.

Our unique American notion of freedom of the press stems back to this incident in 1735. It is ingrained in our heritage, our culture, part of who we are as Americans. This freedom is vital to the protection of all our other freedoms and no other country, culture, religion or philosophy can be allowed to compromise it.

Once he had the director on the phone, he proudly announced, "Justice has triumphed!"

Cartoons And Israel Make Mahmoud Crazy

Madman Mahmoud, president of Iran and the Muslim mental health poster boy gave a speech Saturday on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. He spoke to demonstrators who joined him in another mass hysterical psychotic episode that has come to epitomize this nation.

The European Union responded and condemned his remarks about Israel, in which he said that the Palestinians and “other nations” would eventually remove the Jewish state.

“That this type of completely unacceptable remarks are continually being repeated does not mean we should accept them in silence,” said Ursula Plassnik, the foreign minister of Austria which currently holds the EU presidency.

Ahmadinejad accused the United States and Europe of being "hostages of Zionism" and said they should pay a heavy price for the publication of caricatures of the prophet Muhammad that have triggered worldwide protests.

"We ask the West to remove what they created sixty years ago and if they do not listen to our recommendations, then the Palestinian nation and other nations will eventually do this for them."

"Do the removal of Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations," he threatened.

The crowd, of course, spent much of their time doing their chants, "Death to Denmark", "Death to America", "Death to Israel". These are the same sensitive people who claim to be wounded by the West poking fun at their prophet. Maybe it's something in their water.

A Doll Named Mustafa

First they came for Piglet, then the Cartoons and now it's the inflatable Mustafa. Apparently a British company specializing in sex paraphernalia and accoutrements has introduced an inflatable date for women. They have dared to name the doll Mustafa Shag.

Enter the Manchester Central Mosque calling on the firm to withdraw the product because Mustafa is an AKA for Mo of recent cartoon infamy.

"You have no idea how much hurt, anguish, and disgust this obnoxious phrase ["Mustafa Shag"] has caused to Muslim men, women and children," reads their letter.

"We are asking you to please relent on compassionate grounds, and have our Most Reverend Prophet's Name "Mustafa" (Peace Be Upon Him) and the afflicted word 'shag' removed as soon as possible."

Do you get the feeling that these people thrive on and get a rush from "hurt, anguish, and disgust?" How did they even know about this doll and what sane person would even care? I say we make a huge one for the next Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and float him down Broadway. In fact, let's tell these idiots they need to shut up and save their breath for their inflatable prophet.

Is Life So Dear, Or Peace So Sweet?

Stoughton, Massachusetts: Town Manager Mark Stankiewicz, in support of Denmark and free speech, bought two Danish flags on Monday and raised one of the red-and-white banners outside the Town Hall that morning, flying it on the pole beneath the US flag.

It's hard to believe Massachusetts was once a stronghold of freedom loving rebels that founded this great nation. Several town employees told Stankiewicz they did not agree with his decision and worried the flag could provoke violence against theTown Hall in light of the attacks against Danish and other European embassies throughout the Middle East. Many people in town saw the foreign flag display as insensitive and inflammatory.

And here's a group that must have Paul Revere turning over in his grave. The Stoughton No Place for Hate Committee, a local antidiscrimination group, plans to discuss the episode at its meeting tonight because of fears that residents might be hurt or insulted.'There's always that chance that there will be people who are offended, and we want to guard against that," said Karon Skinner-Catrone, chairperson of the 10-person group, some of whom are town officials.

Herald News Declares Sonograms Too Graphic

A pro-life group in Illinois said a local newspaper refused to publish advertisements featuring sonogram images because executives at the paper considered the ads to be "too graphic." The advertising manager of the Herald News, Steve Vanisko, at first denied using the term graphic in the rejection of the ad but then tried to weasel out of it with this statement. "I'm saying that the newspaper reserves the right, just like any other paper, to reject any ad for any reason. And that's what we did. Period. End of story."

However, Vanisko won't tell us what the reason could be for finding a sonogram too graphic to publish. It sems like he doesn't even want to talk about it. Isn't that strange behavior for a news person?

It certainly seems like a case of censorship. If you go to the Joliet Catholic Academy , you get to read the bio on Vanisko.

Name: Steve Vanisko
Age: 36
Birthplace: Joliet
Where live now: Joliet
Education: St. Pat's, Joliet Catholic High; University of St. Francis

Jimmy Carter Confirms He Has No Class

The left has no low to which it will not stoop, no rule of etiquette it will not breach. It has no dignity, no class, no morals and no taste.

To attack the president of this nation during a funeral is one of the cheapest and most despicable acts I have yet to witness. The peanut farmer from Georgia, the master of malaise, Jimmy Carter disgraced himself once again (as if his presidency wasn't enough). This man, who claims to be a Christian, attacked his president during a funeral sevice thereby displaying less class than Billy Carter, his brother, ever did (yes, this is worse than urinating in public). I always said that Jimmy was simply Billy but, sober and wearing shoes. Now, I even wonder about the sobriety and, quick, someone check his feet.

Jimmy was joined in this tasteless tantrum by Joseph Lowery, a "reverend" who should at least have enough Christian spirit to know what is appropriate at a funeral service. There certainly was no Christian charity to be found in either man this day.

The left is so filled with hate, so consumed with bitterness it can no longer conduct itself with even a modicum of decency. They are the scrooges and grinches of our real world and it shows in their words and on their countenances. It is difficult not to see the similarity in the expressions on the faces of the wild eyed Muslim cartoon crowd abroad and the Alito and Bush bashers here at home. I'm afraid the similarity runs deeper than just appearances.

Mo's Cartoons Evoke Thoughtful Response

Thanks to Forbes:

The Pakistan Medical Association has vowed not to prescribe medicines from firms based in some European countries where controversial cartoons portraying Mohammed were published.
The association will boycott drugs from Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Germany and France to protest the blasphemous drawings.

Another intelligent reaction from the Islamofascist world. First I threaten you with death then, myself. What is this penchant these nutcases have for attacking their perceived enemies by harming themselves. Does one of their scriptures say, "And if your enemy insults you cut off your nose to spite your face."

Let's keep the pressure on and maybe they'll boycott and reject everything from the West. That should set their quality of life back another 200 years.

The Inaction Action Figure

This is the man who wants to run again for president in 2008. Yet, he is an inaction figure as far as giving us all the details on his military record. Kerry's "Christmas in Cambodia" is just the tip of the iceberg of lies he has tried to float past the American people. It's time for Kennedy's toy to tell the truth.

John Kerry, release your FULL military records.

California's Crazy Court

Mathew Musladin, found guilty of murder, was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison. Last October, Joke Judge Stephen Reinhardt ordered him released unless the state promptly grants a retrial. Why?

Well, his victim's mother and father and some others came to the trial every day wearing buttons that showed a photograph of the victim. The defense objected but the judge in the case said he saw, ‘‘no possible prejudice to the defendant.’’

Well, Steverino Reinhardt disagreed. The poster boy judge of the ACLU, appointed by Carter and pal of the Clintons declared that the buttons presented ‘‘an unacceptable risk of impermissible factors coming into play. Under clearly established Supreme Court law such a practice interferes with the right to a fair trial by an impartial jury free from outside influences.’’

If the buttons had an effect on the trial it was so minuscule as to be meaningless. This is just one more example of Reinhardt's twisted thinking. We need to fix the ninth circus court and the sooner, the better.

Shutting Out The Siren's Song

On Saturday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel compared Iran's nuclear plans to the threat posed by the Nazis. She correctly made the analogy of how the world underestimated Hitler.

"Looking back to German history in the early 1930s when National Socialism was on the rise, there were many outside Germany who said 'It's only rhetoric -- don't get excited'," she told the assembled world defense policy makers.

"There were times when people could have reacted differently and, in my view, Germany is obliged to do something at the early stages ... We want to, we must prevent Iran from developing its nuclear program."

That is what some people want us to believe today, that it's only rhetoric. It goes beyond that. One needs only to see the hatred etched into the faces of those who would kill in the name of Allah and his prophet.

Senator Joe Lieberman said, "From the writings of Hitler during the 1930s and Mein Kampf to the polemics of bin Laden in the 1990s, there is ample evidence that sometimes when people write and say that they hate you and ... they want to destroy you, in fact they mean it and will try."

The islamofascists want to destroy us, it is not rhetoric, it is evil intent.

As Patrick Henry in his famous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech said, " it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts."

We must close our ears to the siren's song and face the unpleasant business at hand.

Musing Minds

Sunday Funny

An ACLU attorney was on his deathbed. He called to his wife who rushed in and asked, "What is it?"

He told her to bring him a bible as soon as possible. Knowing his feelings about religion and his passionate history of litigation against it, she was in shock. Nevertheless, knowing his hours were numbered, she set out to fill what might be his final request.

The wife left and returned shortly.

She placed the bible in his outstretched hands and watched in wonder as he perused it, scanning the pages, his eyes darting to and fro while mumbling to himself.

After a few minutes of staring at his agitated reading style the wife blurted out, "Whatever are you looking for?"

"Loopholes", he screamed, I'm looking for loopholes!"

Border Abuse Continues

Our border is violated continually by drug smugglers, human smugglers and the Mexican military. Still, our government does nothing. Here is just one more example of the brazen disregard for our nation by criminals from the south.

On February 2, 2006, a Customs and Border Patrol helicopter spotted several vehicles entering the United States illegally in Potrero Canyon west of Nogales, Arizona. When the vehicles saw the helicopter, they attempted to return to Mexico. Agents encountered a white Dodge truck lying on its side less than a half mile from the border.

While inspecting the vehicle, they discovered 83 bundles of Marijuana weighing 1,938.15 lbs. and worth $1,550,520.

Since October 1, 2005, CBP Border Patrol Agents in Tucson Sector have seized 242,286 lbs. of Marijuana.

Hat tip to the American Border Patrol.

Cartoon Chaos

The violent Muslim reaction around the world to the cartoons of Muhammad is indicative of what the ultimate struggle is all about.

In Gaza, masked gunmen briefly took over an office used by the EU, demanding an apology from Denmark and Norway.

The Danish Red Cross was evacuating two employees from Gaza and one from Yemen. "There have been concrete threats against our employees. The fact that they are Danish nationals has made the difference," the Danish Red Cross spokesman said.

In Indonesia, protesters broke into the lobby of the building housing the Danish embassy and pelted the coat-of-arms outside with eggs.

In Iraq, a roadside bomb targeted a joint Danish-Iraqi patrol near the southern city of Basra on Monday.

Editors of Jordanian and French newspapers who chose to republish the cartoons were dismissed on Thursday.

Libya on Sunday said it was closing its embassy in Denmark.

And, so it goes on and on. This, however, illustrates the fundamental differences between the cultures that cannot be bridged.

In Pakistan, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said she hopes the Danish government will "try to resolve this issue because you cannot hurt the sentiments of billions of Muslims in the name of freedom of press."

But, of course, it is perfectly fine for Muslims to insult Jews, Hindus and Christians. Where is the Muslim violent reaction to those acts?

Emirates' Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs Mohammed Al Dhaheri said, "This is cultural terrorism, not freedom of expression. The repercussions of such irresponsible acts will have adverse impact on international relations."

I'm not sure what "cultural terrorism" is. Is it waged by those engaged in what has almost become suicide cartooning? Get over it, Mohammed, this is part of free speech and the democratic nations of the world are not surrendering it.

"What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist."

Another Left Wing Love In

Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU , will deliver the keynote speech at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists' 17th Annual Scholarship Banquet in New York City on Feb. 16.

Here's what the NAHJ has to say about him. "Romero's organization is front and center in so many of the constitutional struggles being played out in these times of intense military and culture wars, so his is an important voice in the news of today," said Ivan Roman, NAHJ's Executive Director. "He is also a role model for many of our young people and to all of us who aspire to be actively involved, either through the news media or some other way, in the civic dialogue that will ultimately make our society stronger and more tolerant."

Constitutional struggles, intense culture wars, more tolerant society, are cosmetics for the left wing agenda! Romero the role model, what nonsense. These people consider themselves journalists? No wonder the news is in such pathetic conditon .

I'm posting the list of sponsors so those interested can see who is financing this nonsense. Some of them are probably not even aware of the politics of the group they're supporting.

What's One More Surrender?

Jacques Lefranc, the managing editor of the paper France Soir, that recently published cartoons of Muhammad, has been fired. The dirty deed was done by Raymond Lakah, the Egyptian owner of the paper.

Since France has Western Europe's largest Muslim community,
they are quaking in their boots over anything that might be controversial. For a state that claims to be totally secular, this seems like odd behavior. However, once you realize it's the French, it all makes sense in a strange, unpleasant way.

In a fit of doublespeak, worthy of John Kerry, the French Foreign Ministry said that while freedom of expression is dear to France, it "condemns all that hurts individuals in their beliefs or their religious convictions."

Once more the French are running the white flag up the pole. Old habits are hard to break.

ACLU Fails In School Case

Thanks to the Timesleader, I'm posting my ACLU rant a day ahead of time.

A judge Tuesday refused to order a school district to let a high school senior back into class after he was transferred to an alternative school as punishment for parodying his principal on the Internet.

The American Civil Liberties Union had asked the court to issue a temporary restraining order that would allow Justin Layshock, 17, back into Hickory High School. Layshock had used his grandmother's computer and the Web site MySpace.com to create a phony profile under the principal's name and photo.

The ACLU is at it again. Why are they interfering in a simple matter of discipline in a local school district? There is no great constitutional crisis here. This is simply a matter of a student suffering the consequences of his actions. The parents believe the school's punishment is too harsh; "It seems to us that the school district is trying to crucify our son just to set an example. We regret that they have chosen this path." These are the kind of parents beloved by the ACLU and the bane of school districts nationwide. The district suspended Justin for 10 days and transferred him to an alternative program typically reserved for students with behavior or attendance problems. Somehow suspension translates to crucifixion in the outlandish fantasies of these clients of the ACLU.

The ACLU, which has sued the district on Layshock's behalf, had asked a judge Friday to issue the order preventing the school district from keeping Layshock out of school, preventing him from participating in activities and denying him full credit for his first semester classes. But Judge Terrence F. McVerry said he wasn't convinced that Layshock was being irreparably harmed by the school's punishment.

Good for Judge McVerry but, of course, not good enough for the ACLU.

Witold Walczak, Pennsylvania Legal Director of the ACLU, said he was disappointed with the decision. He said the ACLU was considering further legal action.

All this waste of taxpayer money to defend a guilty kid and appease his irresponsible parental units. Once again, the ACLU is on the wrong side of the issue.

Justin admitted setting up the site, in which he posted questions and answers purportedly from his principal that were peppered with vulgarities, fat jokes and, to the question "what did you do on your last birthday?" the response: "too drunk to remember."
