Colorado Court Makes Correct Call

Back in May, I wrote about the
ACLU claiming that Colorado state law denying paroled prisoners the right to vote was unconstitutional, and argued that the Colorado Constitution provided that convicted criminals only lose their right to vote while they are incarcerated, but not after they are released on parole. A Denver district judge dismissed the lawsuit and at the time I wrote, "Let's see what happens when the ACLU appeals."

Well, here's the rest of the story from the Denver Post.

In a unanimous ruling, written by Justice Gregory Hobbs, the Colorado Supreme Court said today a person who is serving a sentence of parole has not served his or her full term of imprisonment.

Hobbs added that the phrase "full term of imprisonment" makes it clear the person's full rights return only upon completion of the entire sentence, including parole.

There are more twists and turns to this story. Last time I wrote about the Citizens United for Rehabilitation for Errants (CURE). The ACLU filed this lawsuit on behalf of them and another nonprofit group and a gentleman named Michael Danielson. It seems, that Michael got himself ordained a minister while he had been in prison serving a sentence for drug and theft charges.

He now works with recently released prisoners and has this for an attitude.

"If I'm out here working for a living and paying the taxes, by all means I should have a right to say where that tax money is going and who's spending it," he said. "The guys are out here working for a living and they ought to have the right to say."

This guy needs to get to the book of Romans and learn where all authority comes from and while he's at it practicing some humility wouldn't hurt either.

There are people working that are too young to vote. There are non citizens working who do not have the right to vote. They have committed no crimes against their fellow citizens, yet the law does not allow them to vote. You on the other hand, reverend, traded your full rights as a citizen for drugs and thievery. Now, rather than accept humbly the consequences of your actions, your pridful, rebellious spirit has made you an ally of one of religions' most ardent enemies, the ACLU.

The Cowards Of Hezbollah

Go here to see pictures obtained by the Australian paper the Sunday Herald Sun. These are damning photos showing Hezbollah using residential areas as cover for their missiles and artillery. They are even dressed as civilians.

The article states:

"The Melbourne man who smuggled the shots out of Beirut and did not wish to be named said he was less than 400m from the block when it was obliterated."

"Hezbollah came in to launch their rockets, then within minutes the area was blasted by Israeli jets," he said.

"Until the Hezbollah fighters arrived, it had not been touched by the Israelis. Then it was totally devastated.

"It was carnage. Two innocent people died in that incident, but it was so lucky it was not more."

This is how the terrorist animals fight. Instead of trying to protect the weak and innocent they use them as shields and propaganda tools.

Even lefty Jan Egeland of the UN said, "When I was in Lebanon, in the Hezbollah heartland, I said Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending in among women and children."

While the mainstream media plays into the hands of the Hezbollah swineherd by bemoaning the collateral damage they cause; the truth is they are the indiscriminate killers, brutal, savage fanatics who thrive on chaos and destruction. There is no hope for peace while they are given haven and sanctuary and those who provide it have no right to protest what they reap.

Does Iran Have A Plan?

Writing in Front Page Magazine just recently, Robert Spencer gives a chilling interpretation to Iran's refusal to reply to the Western offer of incentives for abandoning its nuclear program until August 22nd. He quotes Farid Ghadry, the president of the reform party of Syria, who asserts that Iran chose that date for a very sinister reason.

According to the Islamic calendar August 21st was the night Mohammad took off on a creature described as an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule, who would place its hoof at a distance equal to the range of vision. It is often pictured as having the face of a woman. Check out the Pakistani truck above.

Anyway, back to the point. Mohammad got airborne on this creature from Mecca to the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem where he headed off to visit heaven and hell and the other prophets while a great light lit up the sky. This is known as The Night Journey, or Miraj, and is what Islam uses to try to put a claim on Jerusalem as a Muslim holy city.

Spencer says, according to Ghadry, Ahmadinejad is planning an illumination of the night sky over Jerusalem to rival the one that greeted the Prophet of Islam on his journey. What the Iranian President, he says, is “promising the world by August 22 is the light in the sky over the Aqsa Mosque that took place the night before. That is his answer to the package of incentives the international community offered Iran on June 6.”

So, what does the Muslim madman have planned? Is it nuclear or conventional or is it just the usual Baghdad Bob hyperbole that we always hear in the Middle East? This looney toon is evil incarnate and has already declared that
Israel had "pushed the button of its own destruction" by launching its military campaign against the Iranian-backed Hizbullah in Lebanon.

Is
Ahmadinejad getting ready to launch his apocalypse? Let's hope Israel and the US are watching closely.

The Diabolical Musings Of Al-Qaeda

The New York Daily News has a guest column by William F. McCants, a fellow at the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. He has translated an Al-Qaeda manual called "The Management of Savagery," written by Abu Bakr Naji, a high-level strategist for the terrorist group.

The article tells us, "
Many Westerners underestimate just how sophisticated and ruthless our enemy is. Reading Naji is a start to better understand our foes' mind-set, particularly because his text has Al Qaeda's seal of approval."

Go here to read
"The Management of Savagery." It is a long read, but very revealing.

Sunday Funny

Dear Abby:

My husband is a liar and a cheat. He has cheated on me from the beginning, and when I confront him, he denies everything. What's worse, everyone knows he cheats on me. It is so humiliating.

Also, since he lost his job six years ago, he hasn't even looked for a new one. All he does is buy cigars and cruise around and shoot the bull with his pals, while I have to work to pay the bills. Since our daughter went away to college, he doesn't even pretend to like me and hints that I am a lesbian.

What should I do?

Dear Clueless:

Grow up and dump him. For Pete's sake, you don't need him anymore. You're a United States senator from New York. Act like it!

Terrorist Attack In Seattle

The islamomaniacs walk among us. An act of terrorism by Naveed Afzal Haq, a 31-year-old Muslim of Pakistani descent has Seattle Jews afraid to gather or draw attention to themselves.

Because he was angry about Israel defending itself from his fellow terrorists, Hezbollah, Haq decided to shoot up a Jewish center, killing a woman and wounding five others. A typical terrorist coward, he shoots unarmed women and then lays his weapon down when SWAT officers arrive.

"This was a crime of hate, and there's no place for that in the city of Seattle," Mayor Greg Nickels said. I hate to break it to you, Greg, this is more than a hate crime, it is another act of Muslim terrorism. The islamomaniacs have obviously made a place in your city.

Robert Jacobs, Pacific Northwest Regional director for the Anti-Defamation League, told CNN the group has been warning Jewish institutions to be wary and have adequate security because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

If they cannot, he said, it would be better for Jews "not to congregate in one location that might be an obvious site."

What a sad day for America that we have arrived at a time when Jews are afraid to congregate. Hitler must be dancing in hell while he waits for Haq to join him.

Spain To Iraq

You won't see Ayman al-Zawahiri's recent comments publicized much by the mainstream media.

"War with Israel does not depend on ceasefires. It is Jihad for sake of God and will last until religion prevails from Spain to Iraq. We will attack everywhere."

And there you have it, that is what this war is about. We are facing a fundamentalist religion that has a goal of world domination by force. It will not be dissuaded, it must be eliminated.

Al-Zawahri added that Muslims everywhere must rise up to attack "crusaders and Zionists... and support jihad everywhere...until American troops are chased from Afghanistan and Iraq, paralyzed and impotent...having paid the price for aggression against Muslims and support for Israel."

Au contraire, psycho Muslim man, it is you and your fellow lunatics who will pay the price, once the civilized world accepts the bitter truth about this war. It is not a war on terror, it is a war against your jihad and the crusaders will ultimately win.

You Are That Man

DICK DURBIN, SENATE FOOL

The Prime Minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki addressed Congress yesterday. He was boycotted by some of the Donks, Schumer and Boxer to name two and called an anti -semite by Howard Dean.

All this is politics as usual for the Democrats, not caring a whit about what's good or bad for our nation, they blindly lash out in desperation. Their hope is to find a target, it doesn't matter who or what, that will galvanize the voters into actions they desire.

However, my favorite hypocrite of all, yesterday, was Dick Durbin. He criticized al-Maliki and also Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani. Now, granted al-Mashhadani has been quoted as saying the Jews are responsible for all of Iraq's problems and that is a truly reprehensible statement. But, Durbin says, Mashhadani said "outrageous things, not only about Israel and Jewish people, but even about America. "To have a leader in the government so critical of the United States, which has given so much in defense of democracy in Iraq, is troubling," he added.

Wait a minute, Dick you're the guy who compared our military to Nazis, Soviet gulags and Pol Pot.

You said we cannot build a fence on our own border unless we consult with a foreign government (
go here).

You sponsored a bill that
would give illegal aliens who graduate from high school, legal residency and tuition breaks at public colleges and universities thus forcing US taxpayers to subsidize the education of people who are here in violation of our laws (go here) .

I could go on and on, but Dick you are convicted by your own words...
"To have a leader in the government so critical of the United States is troubling." You, Dick Durbin, are that man.

Wake Up And Smell The Kofi

Something's rotten at the U.N. and it's Kofi Annan, the world body's king of corruption. He has called the bombing of a U.N. post in southern Lebanon an "apparently deliberate" strike by Israel.

"This coordinated artillery and aerial attack on a long-established and clearly marked U.N. post at Khiyam occurred despite personal assurances given to me by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that U.N. positions would be spared Israeli fire," he said in a statement.

As usual, Annan won't be required to back up his statement, but his quick leap to accuse Israel of the premeditated murder of UN observers gives us good insight into whose side he's on in this conflict.

In the heat of battle, mistakes occur, but according to Kofi this is no mistake. He must have proof or surely he would not make such a damning statement to the press about a member nation. Yeah, right, the UN is the cesspool of corruption and it is largely because of the quality of leadership provided by people like Kofi and his crew.

The observers should have been withdrawn earlier, before the fighting got that close and that is one more failure that happened on Kofi's watch.

No Martyrdom For Omar

More on that cowardly pig, Omar Bakri Mohammed, from the Daily Record. Now, the hate preacher has his wife pleading for him. His spouse, Hanan Fostok, is begging Blair to open his arms to Omar and let him back into Britain.

Bakri, who referred to the September 11 terrorists as the "Magnificent 19," blamed the British people for people for last summer's subway and bus bombings. Only now, because he's in the Israeli line of fire he's not content to hide among the innocent civilians in Lebanon like the rest of his fellow Hezbollah heroes, he wants to hide with the civilians in London. Next, he'll probably don a burka and try to be evacuated with the women and children.

Blair of course has rejected the plea and Bakri's spouse declared, "If something terrible happens, Blair would have blood on his hands. She adds, "He is suffering. We are scared something will happen to him."

One lives in hope.

Leading Lebanese Nixes Nato

According to the globeandmail, Bahia Hariri, sister of Rafik Hariri, the former prime minister of Lebanon who was assassinated last year, said idea of deploying NATO troops in the south of the country to create a buffer zone with Israel and bolster efforts to disarm Hezbollah was dangerous and would not succeed.

Interesting, Lebanon can't control Hezbollah, but they don't want anyone else reining in these murderers either. She said that such a force would only take the place of Israel as the target of the Islamic militia's wrath. This is precisely the reason we need a force to disarm and dismantle this mob of maniacs. It is important to note that this woman blames the current conflict on Israel. She is also upset at Canada because Prime Minister Stephen Harper called Israel's response "measured."

"I have a message for Canada, there's no excuse for killing women and children, for killing civilians," she said. "Does a country stronger than you have a right to attack you? If the United States attacked Canada, would that be acceptable?"

Well, it would be if Canada was invading the US, killing and kidnapping our soldiers and firing rockets into Chicago. In fact, other than the Russ Feingolds and Cindy Sheehans of this nation, Americans would probably demand it.

There is no arguing with a mind that is so twisted by blind hate and bitterness it refuses to embrace fact. It is true of the left and the terrorists and both are equally dangerous.

Rice Riot In Ramallah

It seems the Palestinians are unhappy about the meeting in Ramallah between US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

While chanting "Rice, out, out!" they brandished the flags of their favorite terrorists, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah and then proceeded to fight with the police in front of Abbas' headquarters.

The terrorist leaders had called for "a day of rage" (isn't that every day for these murdering psychotics?)
against Rice's visit.

There was the usual almost incoherent rambling speeches and quotes by what passes for political commentary in the Islamomaniacal world; the screaming about US and Israeli plots to enslave the Arabs and rob them of their dignity. Yet, one would think their brutish behavior would have already made dignity a non-issue.

Nevertheless, the Popular Resistance Committees ranted, "We call on President Mahmoud Abbas to respect the feelings of the Palestinian people and to refrain from meeting with Rice and succumbing to her arrogant dictates that will only bring our people more humiliation and suffering."

OK, Ms. Rice, knock off those "arrogant dictates" and pay attention to those sensitive and thoughtful political philosophers populating the mobs of Hamas and Hezbollah. The intelligentsia of Isalmomania is on the march.

Kerry's Continual Carping

John Kerry, on Sunday, took his customary cheap shot at the administration.

Referring to the crisis in Lebanon, Kerry said "If I was president, this wouldn't have happened."

No, John, I'm sure by this time you would have already sold out to Iran so there would be no need for them to unleash Hezbollah as a distraction.

Kerry said Hezbollah should have been targeted along with al-Qaida and the Taliban, but of course fails to tell us how he would have done that without invading Lebanon, Syria and Iran. Oh, and of course Iraq would still be under Saddam because Kerry was against that war after he was for it. But, wait doesn't that mean he would have been in Iraq and then pulled out once he found out there were not enough WMDs to satisfy the left wing of his party? Who can tell, not even Kerry knows what he thinks , but that's why he's not president, thank God!

Ridiculous Reinhardt Rules Again

The ninth circus court and "Reinhardt the Ridiculous" are at it again. I remind you of some of Reinhardt's previous dementia driven decisions here and here. The man is a clear and present danger to the fabric of American society.

Now, Judge Reinhardt has decided that a different standard should apply to derogatory remarks aimed at "majority groups such as Christians or whites" because "there is, of course, a difference between a historically oppressed minority group that has been the victim of serious prejudice and discrimination and a group that has always enjoyed a preferred social, economic and political status."

So, casting aside equal protection before the law, Steverino Reinhardt has led the ninth circus off on a unconstitutional caper once again. Of all the circuit courts, the ninth circus is the most overturned. Last year the Supreme Court reviewed 18 of their decisions, reversing or vacating 15 and 12 of those by unanimous decision. That should give you a good idea of the judicial quality of head clown Reinhardt and his fellow court jesters and fools.

Weekend Funny

A popular Des Moines Barber shop had a new robotic barber installed. A man came in for a haircut and as the robot began to cut his hair it asked him, “What’s your IQ?” The man replied, “130.”

"Indeed," said the robot and he proceeded proceeded to make conversation about physics, astronomy, investments, philosophy, history, etc. The man listened intently and said, “This is excellent.”

Later, another fellow came in and as the robot began the haircut it asked, “What’s your IQ?” The man responded, “100.”

"Good," said the robot and he started talking about football, baseball, T.V. programs, the latest movies and so on. The man thought to himself, “Wow, this is really cool.”

Later on, a third guy came in to the barbershop. As with the others, the robot barber asked him, “What’s your IQ?” The man replied, “70.”

"Ah", said the robot, “so, I understand you Democrats are really excited about Hillary running for president?”

Three Suspects Arrested In India

The railway bombing in India last week has resulted in the arrest of three Muslims.

"We believe these three have knowledge of the attacks. Some of their links with certain networks have come to light," said a senior police official.

Off the record, police have said they believe Indian Muslims may have carried out the bombings, possibly members or former members of the banned Students' Islamic Movement of India.

They also suspect the attacks may have been organized by the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba or even by members of Pakistan's military spy agency.

Whoever is responsible once again seems to have roots in Islamomania.

Thanks to eircom.

Tony, The Snowman

Another exchange between Tony Snowman and WorldNetDaily!

WND: "Would the president make border security a higher priority if he were convinced it was being used as an entry point by terrorists like those who are part of Hezbollah and al-Qaida?"

Snow: "Think of it this way. The president committed as much money to the borders already as the House of Representatives was planning on doing in five years. So, he was serious before – he's perfectly cognizant of the possibility there may be terrorists crossing over. We have intelligence assets deployed in the area, and so he's not going to be anymore concerned because he's already very concerned about it."

Think of it this way, Tony. Every day murderers, child molesters, rapists and other criminals cross our borders at will. If we have intelligence assets of any consequence deployed, why are we not apprehending these people? Or, are you trying to say our intelligence assets are so sophisticated that they only hone in on terrorists to the exclusion of all others? Please!

Being perfectly cognizant does not secure our borders nor protect the sovereignty of our nation. This administration and previous ones have all been perfectly cognizant of the problem and have chosen to do nothing except meaningless maneuverings like the token use of the National Guard. Rather than offend unreasonable foreign governments, our president and the senate have chosen to keep Americans vulnerable to the very real threat of terrorist strikes. I do not see that as being very concerned, Tony, no matter how you try to spin it.

Sinister Sheikh Now Shaking

Syrian born radical Islamist Sheikh Omar bin Bakri Muhammad, a former leader in the British Islamomaniac movement, is running scared. You see, he's in Beirut now wallowing with the swine herd known as Hezbollah. The story in The Sun, describes him as a preacher of hate who has been banned from Britain and tells how he tried to board a ship full of women and children yesterday but was turned away. He has also begged the British embassy to let him in on, get this, “humanitarian grounds”.

This craven cleric, who once hailed terrorists as “magnificent” martyrs, in March boasted: “When I left England I bought a one-way ticket out. I never want to see the place again.”

Be careful what you wish for Omar, you just might get it!

The filthy coward even admits, “What concerns me is my safety. I’d be happy with a month’s visa but this morning they told me I couldn’t because I’m not a British citizen any more.”

Well, Omar here's hoping you get a one-way visa from Israel so you can visit Allah.

Tony Continues Morphing Into Baghdad Bob

In responding to WorldNetDaily, Tony Snowjob upgraded himself to blizzard level far above his normal flurries of political babble.

Here's the question and Tony's response.

WND: "WorldNetDaily quotes sheriffs in Texas saying that both their departments and the Border Patrol are out-manned and out-gunned by criminal gangs and drug cartels based in Mexico, who are running drug-smuggling and human-smuggling operations into this country. And my question: Is the president willing to accept a situation on our border where American law enforcement is out-manned and out-gunned, or are these quoted sheriffs wrong?"

Snow: "There is a third option, which is, the president is mindful of these kinds of complaints and concerns, which explains why he went ahead and did a $1.9 billion supplemental, which is already putting National Guardsmen in positions where they can relieve the Border Patrol, where you can get Border Patrol agents, and you know the whole riff.

"So option C is the president does care about security at the borders and is active on it."

And then, Tony, there is option D, which is you are the president's Baghdad Bob. I've made the comparison before, but you are almost fully transitioned now. Listen to yourself, how do you look in the mirror to shave?

What next? Since your answers to questions are really jokes, why not entertain us and go totally Baghdad Bob? Get the beret and give us some good quotes!

"There are no illegals in America. Never!"

"You can go and visit the border, Nothing there, nothing at all. There are Border Patrol checkpoints. Everything is ok."

"We deported them yesterday. God willing, I will provide you with more information."

"We have retaken Arizona. There are no illegals there. I will take you there and show you."

"They are not even within a hundred miles of the border. They are not in any place. They hold no place in the USA. This is an illusion."

"I blame Fox News. They are marketing for the Minutemen."

Lebanon's Culpability

As I wrote yesterday, Prime Minister Fouad Siniora of Lebanon denounced Israel as a "savage war machine." But, an article from Reuters AlertNet tells us of a true "savage war machine" and it's coming from Lebanon not Israel. Please take the time to read this. Believe it or not, Human Rights Watch has suggested it could constitute war crimes.

Indiscriminate attacks on civilian population centers, such as Hezbollah's recent rocket volleys on Haifa, are violations of international law. In addition, some of those rockets contained hundreds of metal ball bearings suggesting the intent was to kill and maim civilians. They really have no other purpose.

So, Mr. Prime Minister, it would seem that the "savage war machine," the violation of international law and the possibility of war crimes were inflicted by your nation, under your watch.

It was the crossing of the border, into Israel, by Hezbollah, the killing of three Israeli soldiers and the kidnapping of two others that initiated this conflict. You ceded control of the southern portion of your nation to these terrorists and now you allow them to hide among your civilians for protection. Again, all this happening under your watch, in your nation.

I doubt you will ever be held accountable, but you are responsible.

We won't hear much about it from the liberal hand wringers and moonbat Israel haters, but nevertheless we all know where the vast majority of psychotic torturers and murderers in the Middle East are and it's not in Israel.

The Mean Israeli Machine Marches On

CNN reports, as a sub headline, "Lebanese PM denounces Israel's 'savage war machine.'" How interesting. As Israel delivers just deserts to Hezbollah for kidnapping Israeli soldiers and firing rockets into Israeli civilian areas, another Arab portrays Israel as the villain. Yet, we all know that if Hezbollah were inflicting this manner of damage on Israel the real savages would be dancing in the streets declaring that Allah is great and displaying their poor dental hygiene at every photo op.

If Lebanon wanted to be assured that this would not happen, why did they not secure the border and disarm Hezbollah as they were instructed to do? The Muslim world fails to comprehend, obey the rules and no one gets hurt. The fact that they repeat the procedure that inflicts harm on themselves is a clue to the intelligence and integrity of those running the show in Islamoland.

Hezbollah And Its Henchmen

Recently I have seen articles that speak glowingly of Arab governments criticizing Hezbollah for its "adventure" against Israel. For example, the NY Times, forever trying to spin positive on Islamomaniacal atrocities, has
"Militia Rebuked by Some Arab Countries."

The truth is the majority of the Muslims in these countries, both government officials and man on the street are totally in favor of Hezbollah and any other terrorists that carry out what is in all their hearts, murderous hatred for Israel, the US, UK, India and others. If you are Jew, Christian or Hindu you are the enemy and nothing will change that fact.

CNS News reports that at a weekly meeting chaired by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, the kingdom's cabinet declared that the war was an extension of Israel's "occupation policies and hegemony in the region." "The cabinet affirmed that the international reactions to the all-out war launched by Israel demonstrate the extent of the world community's laxity and disregard for crimes committed by Israel," it said in a statement released afterwards.

The Saudi government censured unnamed countries for giving "absolute support" to Israel, saying this was obstructing efforts by the U.N. Security Council to act.
The statement made no direct reference to the incident that triggered the conflict - the abduction of two Israeli soldiers - or to the hundreds of missiles Hizballah has fired into Israel since then.

In an indirect reference to Hezbollah, the cabinet said the international community's shortsighted policies in supporting Israel had resulted in "some elements and movements" taking "their own decisions."
Israel had "exploited [those decisions] in the most horrendous manner to launch a terrible war against Lebanon and imprison the entire Palestinian people."

There you have it, the same old tired rhetoric waltzed out by Arabs and Persians blaming all the misfortunes of their squalid little universe on those Jews.

The Syrian government daily Al-Baath said in an editorial, "The Lebanese and Palestinian national and Islamic resistance are not being 'adventurous.' They are defending the land, people, and honor of Lebanon and Palestine."

From Kuwaiti lawmakers, "If people consider Hezbollah uncontrolled then we want to establish many more of such reckless groups," he said, urging Muslims and Arabs the world over to support Hezbollah. And,"We support the armed resistance against the Zionist enemy. Arabs must take up arms against the Zionist enemy."

Reports from Bahrain said Sunnis and Shi'ites marched together in support of Hezbollah. In protests there, the Palestinian territories and elsewhere, Arabs chanted slogans urging Nasrallah to bomb Tel Aviv.

"The Lebanese who kidnapped the Zionist soldiers are true nationalists led by a great man," Mohamed Mahdi Akef, the leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, said in an interview with al-Jazeera.

Egypt's El-Osboa carried a commentary calling Hezbollah "the voice of Arab dignity," while the London-based Al Quds al-Arabi noted with satisfaction Nasrallah's assertion that he was presenting the Arabs with a historic opportunity to defeat Israel.
Hezbollah's "steadfastness" over recent days and "the overwhelming support of the Arab and Muslim peoples will strengthen this hope," it said.

"Zionist aggression on innocent civilians is a depressing disaster but, thanks to the heroic resistance, the Arab eyes are sparkling with hope for a renewal of dignity and optimism," said a commentary in Ad Dustour, a Jordanian daily.

Ah yes, that faux dignity they wish to die for; these Islamomaniacs have chosen a fool's fate. So be it.

Syrian Terrorist Transports Hit By IAF

While the war in Lebanon continues to result in the destruction of the Hezbollah terrorists, Syria is still trying to supply the murderers with more fire power. According to IDF Operations Branch Head Major General Gadi Eisenkot, the Israeli Air Force has managed to intercept a number of trucks transporting rockets including the 220mm-diameter rockets with warheads like the one that hit the Haifa train depot. “These are rockets that belong to the Syrian army. You can’t find them in the Damascus market, and the Syrian government is responsible for this smuggling,” Eisenkot said.

How long is the world going to allow these Syrian jackals to get away with abetting terrorism? Eliminating the homicidal psychotic regimes of Syria and Iran would relieve a lot of the problems that will continue to plague us if they are not dealt with decisively.

Hipocratic Or Hypocritical

Here's one for the books. The AMA does not want physicians participating in the execution of convicted murderers because it undermines the ethical foundation of medicine. What a joke. It is perfectly ok to rip healthy babies from the womb and suck the brains from their tiny skulls, but heaven forbid that the lawful execution of a serial torturer and killer be carried out by the state. It's amazing that they do not choke on their own words.

Here are the quotes of the AMA as presented in NewsMax.

"The American Medical Association is troubled by continuous refusal of many state courts and legislatures to acknowledge the ethical obligations of physicians, which strictly prohibit physician involvement in a legally authorized execution," he said in a statement. "The AMA's policy is clear and unambiguous - requiring physicians to participate in executions violates their oath to protect lives and erodes public confidence in the medical profession."

If the oath is to protect lives how is the policy unambiguous if it is ok to kill a baby whose life is viable outside the womb?

"A physician is a member of a profession dedicated to preserving life when there is hope of doing so. The use of a physician's clinical skill and judgment for purposes other than promoting an individual's health and welfare undermines a basic ethical foundation of medicine - first, do no harm."

If this wasn't so serious this would be laughable. Is not ripping babies from their mother's womb doing grievous harm?

"The guidelines in the AMA Code of Medical Ethics address physician participation in executions involving lethal injection. The ethical opinion explicitly prohibits selecting injection sites for executions by lethal injection, starting intravenous lines, prescribing, administering, or supervising the use of lethal drugs, monitoring vital signs, on site or remotely, and declaring death.

As the voice of American medicine, the AMA urges all physicians to remain dedicated to our ethical obligations that prohibit involvement in capital punishment."

I can understand, in a way, the kinship abortionists must feel with those on death row. They are in the same business and there is the matter of professional courtesy.

Kuwaiti Gratitude

From Yahoo News, Kuwaitis desecrate the US flag during a protest in support of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah in Kuwait City on Sunday.

With this kind of gratitude they should all be speaking French. Why did we save these miserable swine from Saddam? Since they support Hezbollah, that would make them the enemy. If anyone in our government ever suggest saving these pathetic pigs again, we should turn him over to Hezbollah for some attitude adjustment.

World At War

Israeli ground forces entered southern Lebanon to attack Hezbollah bases there, an Israeli government spokesman said Monday.

Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press with Tim Russert Sunday, Newt Gingrich said that "today is not the fifth day of the war, it’s the 58th year of the effort by those who want to destroy Israel. "I mean, this is absolutely a question of the survival of Israel, but it’s also a question of what is really a world war,” Gingrich said.

I must agree with Gingrich, there is a world war and like it or not we are in it. The attacks on the United States, Great Britain, Israel and India are but a few examples. We must change the attitude in this country that somehow we are still insulated from these murdering Muslims. We must pursue aggressively the terrorists, worldwide and support the efforts of those who fight on our side.

After 9/11 we were told this would happen. We were told these killers would have no safe haven, no respite. It has not happened. Syria, Iran, Lebanon and others still harbor and encourage terrorists. It is time to pluck these poisonous groups out by their roots using whatever means necessary. Let the liberals gnash their teeth and beat their breasts, they are accomplices and enablers of the enemy.

Here's Your Senate

Once again the inept clowns in Washington show us they could care less about US sovereignty and border security. Here's what they really believe.

The Senate voted on S.Amdt. 4659 to H.R. 5441 (Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2007 ) "To appropriate an additional $1,829,400,000 to construct double-layered fencing and vehicle barriers along the southwest border and to offset such increase by reducing all other discretionary amounts on a prorata basis."

Here's the way the voting went.

North Korea Thumbs Nose At UN

The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Saturday to impose limited sanctions on North Korea for its recent missile tests. It also demanded that North korea suspend its ballistic missile program.

North Korea's U.N. Ambassador, Pak Gil Yon, accused the council of "unjustifiable and gangster-like" action aimed at isolating his country. He's obviously confusing the council with North Korea's dear weiner Ding Dong Jong-il, a gangster who has isolated the country.

Pak stressed that the North has a legal right to test missiles and said it would be "foolish" to give advance warning because the United States and the DPRK are still technically at war and the U.S. has threatened to intercept North Korean missiles "with the collusion of Japan."

Pak warned that North Korea will "take stronger physical actions of other forms should any other country ... take issue with the exercises and put pressure."

He immediately left the council chamber at the end of his speech in a move considered a breach of diplomatic protocol. What do the North Korean's care about protocol?

Ok, let's see what happens now. My bet is more impotent UN posturing and resolutions.

Israel Decides To Get Syrious

WHAT, ME WORRY?

Syria's giraffe boy Bashar better start worrying. According to ynetnews.com, the London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that “Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences.”

Now, perhaps Bashar is as daffy as he looks and believes that
Ahmadinejad, the unwashed, will be able to protect him. Quite frankly, it would probably be best for all of civilization if Syria and Iran decide to play their hands now and we can settle this before the Islamomaniacs get any more powerful.

I wonder how we could tie Dear Leader Ding Dong Jong Il into this and make it a hat trick.

"Badges? We Ain't Got No Badges"

We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"
"El Bandido", as played by Alfonso Bedoya in "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (1948)

According to WorldNetDaily, deputy sheriffs and Border Patrol agents received gunfire from the Mexican side of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County, Texas last night.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño is quoted as saying, "This is one of the reasons that I do not allow my deputies to patrol the riverbanks or levies close to the river, because we do know there are drug gangs and human trafficking gangs that will not hesitate to shoot in our direction to get us out of the area."

What is wrong with this picture? Why do we not have sufficient firepower on our borders to back up law enforcement? Why doesn't Mexican law enforcement respond to these situations or are they, in fact, the situation itself. Whatever the reason, we should inform Mexico that if they cannot or will not control the gangs we will dispatch a gunship and take out anything and everything in the area from which the gunfire originated. It is time for both governments to defecate or abdicate.

Lunatic Leads Lebanon To War

While Israel is bombing Beirut airport and blockading Lebanon's ports, Hezbollah television is celebrating the kidnapping of the two Israeli soldiers that precipitated the current crisis.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah another Islamomaniac is the man responsible and Lebanon will now pay the price for his terrorism.

In a speech, Nasrallah ranted,“First, thank God for the victory, the Jihad, and the results. I want to turn to the brave fighters who today fulfilled the promise and therefore this operation is called 'The promise that was kept.' I thank them and kiss their hands. Today is a day of loyalty to Samir Quntar and the rest of the Lebanese prisoners in Israel.”

Here's more of the logic of terrorism."What we did today was our natural right and the only way to bring about the release of prisoners and detainees held by Israel.”

And this, “Any infiltration into Lebanese territory will meet a very harsh response. Our restraint is not out of weakness. We are exercising level-headed restraint.”

This psychotic thinks he has a natural right to commit his nation to an act of war and is exercising level-headed restraint by not meeting the Israeli military head on. Hopefully he will get to meet the business end of Israeli ordnance along with many of his rabid supporters.

Hezbollah's Act Of War

From CNN:
Israeli troops enter Lebanon amid kidnap reports

First Hamas and now Hezbollah kidnapping Israeli soldiers. What do they expect the reaction to be? Of course, they want to provoke military action. Why does anyone believe these groups are interested in anything but mayhem and murder.

They deliberately commit atrocities and acts of war and people still ask Israel to show restraint. The Jimmy Carter's of this world are always kissing terrorist butt and then feign astonishment when the evil escalates. The crises in Korea and Iran are the result of appeasement and avoidance.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared the attack "an act of war," and vowed that the Israeli response "will be very, very, very painful."

"If the soldiers are not returned we will turn Lebanon's clock back 20 years," declared Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Halutz.

That's the mindset we need to deal with these barbarians and had Carter reacted that way when Iran declared war on us by attacking our embassy, we wouldn't be worrying about Persian nukes today.

Russians Get A Head Of Terrorism

Thanks to the Russians, terrorist warlord Shamil Basayev has now joined many of his Islamomaniac brethren in the deepest recesses of hell.

Responsible for some of the world's worst terror attacks, Basayev was reported to have been killed while accompanying a truck filled with 220 pounds of dynamite that blew up. The body has been identified through some fragments, including his head. A fitting ending to the rabid beast responsible for the 2004 school hostage taking in Beslan that killed 331, and the seizure of about 1,000 hostages at a hospital in Budyonnovsk that killed about 100.

Here's hoping the forces of the civilized world arrange an even larger reunion of these murderers in satan's personal paradise.

Thanks FOXNews.

Kerry Cool On Connecticut

John Kerry has announced that he will support whoever wins next month's Democratic Senate primary in Connecticut.

Unlike Hillary, Harry Reid, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, all of whom have pledged to support Lieberman in the primary, Kerry refuses to choose between Lieberman and his Democratic challenger Ned Lamont.

A spokesperson said Kerry generally does not get involved in primaries, but he has made exceptions in the past for other candidates. Of course he has. Mister flip-flop goes the direction the political winds are blowing just like his "let's go to war, let's attack the war" strategy in the past and present.

A man of solid conviction like Joe Lieberman has the kind of integrity that makes Kerry stand out as the pompous popinjay he is. But, should Lieberman win, Kerry will have to make nice and still try to stay in good standing with the anti war, anti Bush, anti America crowd.

Why Kerry won't even support his own 180! How about it Kerry open those records up to the entire public not just your pals.

Comic Cleric Of The Crescent

Here's a revealing story from the Timesonline:

A Speech by an extremist Muslim cleric praising the London bombers and mocking victims of suicide attacks has been broadcast on the internet to coincide with the anniversary of the July 7 attacks.

The audience laughs as Omar Brooks, a British Muslim convert who also uses the name Abu Izzadeen, makes fun of non-Muslims as “animals” and “cowards”. Brooks — who has previously described the London bombers as “completely praiseworthy” — identifies with the views of Mohammad Sidique Khan, the ringleader of the London attacks. He contrasts the supposed bravery of Khan’s suicide to the “kuffar” (non-Muslims) who are characterised as debauched binge-drinkers who vomit and urinate in the street.

The speech is peppered with jokes that bring laughter from his audience at the Small Heath youth and community centre in Birmingham, where it was filmed last Sunday.

At one point he announces dramatically that the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center “changed many people’s lives”. After a pause, he brings the house down by adding: “Especially those inside.”

So, this is the Islamic sense of humor? I always wondered why there are so few Muslim comics, not much to laugh about and self deprecating humor is out of the question. Allah is never amused and not easily entertained. As I've said before, it's no wonder these people get in line for "martyrdom."

It would be nice if Izzy had a quick life changing event. Then he could be Allah's court jester.

The Morals Of Murderers

Hamas' leader, Khaled Mashaal speaking of the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit said that "it's impossible to release the soldier without getting something in return. This would be humiliating for the Palestinians." "Our goals and our morals command us to keep the soldier alive," he stressed.

Which goals, what morals? Defending the kidnapping of a soldier and the killing of others during a time of proclaimed cease fire to further the goals of terrorism rather than peace is hardly moral behavior. That is why it is pointless to negotiate with hate filled murderers like Hamas. Whatever furthers their Isalmomaniacal agenda to them is a moral goal.

According to Mashaal, "the Palestinans executed a heroic operation by capturing that soldier, even though the world's response in support of Israel is not proportional to the extent of the operation. Today, the Palestinian people are united regarding this operation in a way that they had not been in the past. The operation was one of bravery for the nation. We are proud of this operation and send our condolences to the shahids and their families."

If this is what you are proud of, you have no place mediating with the civilized nations of the world. I look forward to your becoming a mere footnote when the obituary of terrorism is finally written.

Freeze Their Assets Off

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is planning to bill Mexico and other countries to help cover the costs of health care for indigents. This sounds reasonable since last year almost $27 million of the $76.5 spent to treat people from outside dallas was not reimbursed.

According to The Washington Times, this has brought a negative response from the Mexican government, with a diplomat terming it "an act of discrimination."

County Judge Margaret Keliher said she was not hopeful that other counties -- or countries -- would pay up. But, she said, the county commission thought the matter should be made public and bills sent. "If you're not Dallas County residents, we think where you are from should pay for your indigent health care," Judge Keliher said. Hugo Juarez, a consul official at the Mexican Consulate in Dallas, was visibly perturbed. He called the statements made by the judge "a strange posture, a strange reasoning." He said there had been no agreement or contract between his nation and Dallas County that would make such action legal.

Sure Hugo, it's strange to you because if your people were in Mexico they probably wouldn't be getting any decent maedical attention at all. There's no agreement between our countries that allow your people to cross our borders at will, but that doesn't seem to prevent your government from encouraging them to do so.

"What's wrong with sending them a bill?" commission member Maurine Dickey said. She said officials "hoped" the counties that sent their citizens to Parkland would pay something. "We owe it to taxpayers to at least try."

Yes, the American taxpayer is owed not only the attempt, but actual monetary damages from the government of Mexico for the property, lives and social sevices inflicted by their wanton disregard for our laws. We should immediately begin billing the Mexican government for all the costs of illegal crimes (the very act of being here illegally included), seize their assests and recompense the American taxpayer.

Oldstyle VS Newstyle

Sister Toldjah has the Hollywierdo of the week. Ethan Hawke "who, in light of the war in Iraq (which he opposes) and seeing the President in a cowboy hat and boots, urges men onward to a ‘new kind’ of masculine identity:"

Go read the whole thing. Sister Toldjah also asks "Would you like to show your support for old style masculinity? Then please trackback to this post with photos (or linking to photos in the comments) of manly men - photos that would no doubt give Ethan Hawke and others like him a serious case of the elitist intellectual eye-rolls."

OK, here's some "oldstyle" men in their cowboy hats to add to Sister Toldjah's collection.

Support Peace And Tolerance Or We'll Kill You

From CNN, "The Islamic militiamen controlling the Somali capital broke up a wedding celebration because a band was playing and women and men were socializing together, witnesses said Saturday, describing the latest crackdown by a group feared to be installing Taliban-style rule in this African nation."

Those fun-hating Islamomaniacs are at it again. No cartoons, no piggy banks, no soccer and now, no wedding music. Once you've squeezed all the joy out of living it makes the concept of martyrdom so much more attractive. I'm beginning to see why it is so easy for these guys to line up suicide bombers. Without their jihad, this religion of peace and tolerance probably couldn't survive.

Obrador Mimics Gore And Kerry

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador must be using the Demorats as consultants. In the time honored leftwing tradition of Gore and Kerry, he is refusing to accept his loss graciously. It can't be that the voters rejected him, there must be a plot, a conspiracy to keep his right to rule from him.

According to CNN, the odds are Lopez Obrador will never recognize Calderon's victory."The message that he's sending is, 'they wouldn't let me win,' that the umpire was unfair, that the government was unfair," said political analyst Oscar Aguilar."He will never concede defeat," he added. "Once the election results are certified, he will open a permanent campaign of criticizing the government."

This sounds exactly like the collection of screwballs running the Democrat party that are forcing normal and sane people like Joe Lieberman to run as Independents. Will we soon see Cindy Sheehan wearing a serape and camped out with Jesse Jackson in Mexico City's main square? More photo ops for the beaten and bitter?

England Remembers

It has been one year since the London bombings and Britain remembers the 52 people who died and hundreds more who were injured when four suicide bombers blew themselves up.

We all need to remember, not just the victims, but those responsible. Remember who they were and what they believed. Never forget their crime and hold responsible everyone who sympathizes with their cause.

God bless England.

Was Hawaii A Target?

According to a Reuters report on Yahoo news Asia, the long range missile launched by North Korea on Wednesday was aimed close to Hawaii. It states in the article that "data from U.S. and Japanese Aegis radar-equipped destroyers and surveillance aircraft on the missile's angle of take-off and altitude indicated that it was heading for waters near Hawaii."

The question is did they actually target the area to prove to the US that they can reach and harm us? Remember, Hawaii is home to the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific fleet. And, if that is their plan, what should our response be?

Taiwan To Test Missile

From Reuters comes word that Taiwan is planning a missle test in September. It is the same missle Taiwan tested successfully last year and is capable of hitting areas along the coast of mainland China.

I'll bet the Chicoms are a lot more upset about this than the recent shenanigans of their puppet on the peninsula.

Should they have the temerity to ask us to intercede with Taiwan I hope we are as cooperative as they were about confronting the North Koreans. And, I wish must continued success to the freedom loving people of Taiwan.

Somalia protects Islam from Soccer

You can't criticize Islam, you can't have a piggy bank, and you sure can't watch soccer. Aren't we all impressed by the religion of peace and tolerance?

Islamomaniacs killed two people screening a broadcast of the World Cup in Somalia, a girl and the cinema owner. read the report at CNN.

What religious fervor, what a god these psychotis worship. How dare anyone disagree, how dare anyone have fun.

The madness continues, unabated and justified by the terrible theology of those who have no conception of the fact that the one true God is all merciful.

Who would want to spend an eternity with the supreme being that these nut cases worship? Better indeed to rule in hell than serve this beast. Why are people afraid to come out and say it aloud? These are uncivilized savages, something out of the dark past of subhuman development, better left to die in their own miserable rabid throes than to be dealt with as real humans.

This war must be prosecuted as if we were hunting the zombies in Night of the Living Dead. Give no quarter, take no prisoners and exterminate the menace. It is literally, them or us.

These Are The Times

"These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman."

Written by Thomas Paine during the retreat of Washington across the Delaware, and by order of the Commander was read to groups of his dispirited and suffering soldiers.

I could hardly contain myself today and not comment on the Independence Day pontifications of the pompous "I was in Viet Nam," John Kerry. Out of respect for the day, I refrained from taking this summer soldier and sunshine patriot to task. But, as this is almost a new day, here goes.

Posting to that liberal lament, the Huffington Post, I will take you line by line through the hyperbole, distortion and knows nothing but tells all logorrhea of John Kerry.

This Fourth of July it's right to spend some time thinking about what it means not just to be an American, but to be a patriot -- because the concept of patriotism itself is under assault in ways that remind me of a different time in our history.

Well, boys and girls what time do you think John is thinking of? If you said Viet Nam, then you got it right and you must be a frequent visitor to Mr. Kerry's neighborhood.

When we protested the war in Vietnam some would weigh in against us saying: "My country right or wrong." Our response was simple: "Yes, my country right or wrong. When right, keep it right and when wrong, make it right."

I don't know who said that, but it certainly wasn't a real American patriot, Stephen Decatur. Time-honored tradition, stated by all of the standard books of quotations on the market, says that when Commodore Stephen Decatur lifted his glass at a testimonial dinner given in his honor in Norfolk on April 4, 1816, he said: "Our Country! In her intercourse with foreign nations, may she always be in the right, but our country right or wrong."

Liberals are forever making up quotes and inserting them into their revsionist history lessons and Kerry is not to be outdone.

I feel history repeating itself.

Really, John? So do I, I feel you're using this war for self promotion as you did Viet Nam. It's deja vu all over again, isn't it?

What did the United States Senate do before leaving town for the 4th of July break? In a summer when things are decidedly not right for American soldiers in harm's way in Iraq and Afghanistan, while their families at home are hit with record gas prices, health care costs a mess, and veterans still go without the health care they were promised, did we unite in some big hearted cause to make these urgent challenges right?

No. We debated a craven effort to amend the Constitution allegedly to protect the flag we all love. The Senate -- the place the original patriots -- the Founding Fathers -- imagined as the place big national issues would be addressed out of love of country, became a place where the Constitution itself was nearly shredded for political convenience, for ideology, for short term political gain and political timidity.

Make no mistake -- this wasn't a test of who loves the flag. But it was a test of who had the courage to protect the Constitution.

I would hardly describe the effort to protect our national symbol as cowardice and had the Founding Fathers been able to conceive of someone burning their flag and not being, at the very least, tarred and feathered I am sure they would have taken steps to prevent it. It is the height of hyperbole to describe this as the shredding of the constitution which protects and allows the very effort to attempt such an amendment.

I love the flag for all the history, the glory, the promise, and the possibilities that are carried within its four corners. I will never forget seeing our flag draped over my father's casket and remembering that long ago he too served his country when freedom was threatened. I've seen the cloak of patriotism draped over the coffin of friends I lost thirty seven years ago, and too recently I've seen Old Glory cover the caskets of young men lost from Massachusetts in two new wars. Our flag is a stunning symbol of all that has made us who we are.

That's why I get so angry to see politics -- again and again -- fail to live up to our flag, and to our values -- in the way politics too often has become a food-fight, in the way news is too often treated as mere entertainment, in the way millions tune out because they're so sickened by what's happening they've given up on the idea of changing it.

We desperately need a real debate about patriotism -- about service, about American values.

We don't need another series of phony debates about whether we love our country, we need an injection of honesty about how to love our country.

Since you are ok with people burning the flag, John, you might want to be a little more careful about wrapping yourself up in it, which, in my opinion is a greater desecration than burning it. I understand that those who support you are slow of wit and reason and probably need to burn the flag out of frustration. But, surely, you can help them to see that this doesn't qualify as speech and is merely a way of advertising their poor communication skills. I'm certain that surrounding yorself with cretins boosts your self esteem, but it is rather unbecoming to that aristocratic image you so love to project.

I think patriotism starts with telling the truth. Truth is the American bottom line. I don't think it's an accident that among the first words of the first declaration of our national existence it is proclaimed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident...".

Do not talk about the truth, John, until you completely open up your military files to the entire American public, as you promised you would. Your definiton of truth is not self-evident.

Patriotism also means dissent -- when it's hardest. The bedrock of America's greatest advances--the foundation of what we know today are defining values--was formed not by cheering on things as they were, but by taking them on and demanding change.

Dissent is a two-way street and the courtesy you wish for yourself you must extend to others. That means those who disagree with you, those who would make it illegal to burn the flag have as much right in the debate as you do. But, you, John, like the rest of your sanctimonious liberal lot wish to ascribe all the freedoms to yourself and none to your opponents. Because you, the ultimate Big Brother know what is best for us all. You are smarter, richer and better than the rest of us.

Patriotism demands we debate how we live by our principles and our values in the world. America has always embraced the best traditions of civilized conduct toward combatants and non-combatants in war. But does anyone think we're well served when leaders hold themselves above the law--in the way they not only treat prisoners in Abu Ghraib, but assert unchecked power to spy on American citizens? The Supreme Court certainly doesn't!
More hyperbole, once again what the country needs to do to keep itself secure so we can continue to be free is open to debate. You keep espousing debate, but only if your side gets to present and not the other.
Patriotism demands telling the truth to Americans -- America can handle the truth about the Administration's boastful claim of "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq. The true pessimists are those who cannot accept that America's power and prestige depend on our credibility at home and around the world -- and the most dangerous defeatists, the most are those who invoke September 11th to argue that our traditional values are a luxury we can no longer afford.

If I were you I'd avoid the truth issue until I open up that 180 to the public at large. As far as traditional values, those are not necessarily constitutional rights but part of the open society we all have come to enjoy. We have sacrificed before in wartime why wouldn't we once again? I know anything longer than four months without a medal is anathema to you, but many of us peons know the meaning of real sacrifice. We do it daily. When was the last time you went without?

But it's more than that. It's not just what we fight against, but what we fight for. Patriotism means not just ending this war, but preventing the next one -- to act now so that at some future date America will never have to fight for its economic security because we are permanently held hostage to foreign oil. Patriotism ought to be commanding us for the second time in our history todeclare and win our independence, this time not from foreign rule but from foreign oil. To live out the patriotism of Abraham Lincoln who said we were the "last best hope of Earth," leaders should be insisting that we stop being the denier of global warming that endangers the Earth.

This is sheer nonsense. No one has the crystal ball necessary to tell what situation will arise in the world that could cause conflict. It is only Monday morning quarterbacks who have the luxury of waffling that get to always be right. You are so desperate to be listened to you will use anything even global warming to pitch your snake oil.
Al Gore is a patriot this Fourth of July who is living out that kind of love of country -- and we need more like him.

We have too many like him, even one more is too many.

We need a politics of national purpose -- that recognizes America has always been stronger when we have not only proclaimed free speech, but listened to it. A politics that's not afraid to fight for big ideas -- because, after all, there are no bigger idea than the ones on which America was founded.

So, on this Fourth of July, the bottom line is that we will only be stronger if we reclaim America's true character and strength -- if we declare our independence from a politics that lets America down --if we truly commit ourselves to the big hearted patriotism determined "to 'make it right' and "keep it right" once again.

John, you have no understanding of America's strength and where she draws it from. You presuppose your ideas are the big ones that is why you cannot debate and that is why you are not a proponent of free speech. You misunderstand America and you and your party are too self absorbed to grasp it. Even now you plot the expulsion of Joe Lieberman, one of the few rational men left among you. You are almost dangerous, but fortunately not in charge and not likely to be.
