More On Alito

Well it seems to be official that President Bush will nominate 3rd Circuit Appeals Court Judge Samuel Alito for the U.S. Supreme Court today.

Anyone who might be interested in learning more about the judge can visit the opinions at ACLU v. Schundler.

The donkey demons will be stoking the fires as they prepare for a vicious assault on the judge but I think his temperment and demeanor may cause their plans to backfire.

Bush Nominates Samuel A. Alito

Stop the ACLU says: Bush has picked Samuel A. Alito as the next nominee to replace O’Connor at the Supreme Court.

If this is true, boys and girls, stay tuned for the fireworks. The dems are probably inflating Teddy right now as they prepare for their obstructionist parade.

Israel Or Iran

There is a basic, intrinsic difference between Jewish and Muslim justice. You won't see it on the MSM and I'm not sure why. Real journalism would be making these comparisons, doing in depth stories, as they like to call them. Go to Hysience and expose yourself to the difference between civilization and barbarity. Look at the difference between Allah and Yahweh. Look at the difference between Allah and Jesus.
Look at this!

Israel or Iran, the choice is yours. Choose wisely.

Wrong Way In California

Here's another gift from our neighbor to the south.

There are reports that in order to avoid Border Patrol checkpoints, smugglers of illegals and/or drugs are turning off their lights and driving the wrong way on the freeway.

This tactic has been tried on Interstate 8 near San Diego and has caused fatal accidents.

Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol and the Border Patrol have met and under consideration is a warning system with electronic signs to alert drivers about wrong-way vehicles.

Guess who will pay the cost of that? It won't be Vicente Fox my friends, he could care less about what his countymen do as long as he doesn't have to support them.

Our president thinks these people are good material for amnesty and future citizenship. We have politicians who want to give them a license to drive. Why? They are obviously not going to follow the rules of the road anytime its inconvenient for them. Late for my day laborer assembly at the local Home Depot? No problem, just run a few red lights or up on the sidewalk.

Is anybody in Washington paying attention? Hello, we can't hear you.

Los Angeles, Going To Hell In ACLU Handbasket

Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa is the former Vice President of the Southern California ACLU. Last week he nominated Ramona Ripston, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority.

Here's an excerpt from his letter to the city council.

"I certify that in my opinion Ms. Ripston is especially qualified by reason of training and experience for the work which shall devolve upon her, and that I make the appointment solely in the interest of the City."

If this guy was Pinocchio he'd be blowing his nose in New Jersey.

Am I missing something here or isn't there a conflict of interest since the ACLU has litigation pending against the city seeking to prevent police from arresting people who sleep on the streets at night.

Villaraigosa doesn't seem to allow matters of ethics and integrity to hinder him. He was the former chairman of the UCLA chapter of MECha and has steadfastly refused to repudiate them. He is more concerned with the "rights" of illegals then he is with the "rights" of American citizens.

Ripston is more of the same. When Muslims immigrants were arrested in California because they had violated immigration laws, overstayed their visas, or were wanted for crimes, she compared it to the internment of Japanese Americans during WW II. There's that twisted liberal thinking running amok again.

Let's talk about ethics and integrity once more. Remember when the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the Pledge of Allegiance was unconstitutional because of the words "under God"? Well, one of the first judges who ruled that way was Stephen Reinhardt. He should have recused himself from the case because he was married to an official with the American Civil Liberties Union and we all know their view on God. Guess who the spouse was? Survey says, Ramona Ripston number one answer. And when Villaraigosa was sworn into office as mayor of Los Angeles who did he pick to administer the oath? Why, Stephen Reinhardt of course. Are we beginning to see a pattern yet?

Los Angeles is reaping what it has sown. Another mayoral appointee to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, Douglas Mirell, was a plaintiff's attorney along with the ACLU in a 2000 case in which a federal judge limited the stopping of homeless people without probable cause by Los Angeles police.

The ACLU, its members and former members obviously do not think the rules of ethics, morality and fairness apply to them. Watch carefully what happens to Los Angeles, it won't be a pretty sight. Prevent it from happening in your town. Visit Stop the ACLU.

Justice By Fire

Saturday Funny...hope you're all having a great weekend!

Is Anyone Calling For Mahmoud to Resign?

This from CNN:
On Friday, Iran's Moscow embassy -- often used by Tehran to issue statements on foreign policy -- said Ahmadinejad did not mean to "speak up in such sharp terms."

The embassy said Ahmadinejad "did not have any intention to speak up in such sharp terms and enter into a conflict."

"It's absolutely clear that, in his remarks, Mr. Ahmadinejad, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, underlined the key position of Iran, based on the necessity to hold free elections on the occupied territories," Reuters quoted the embassy statement as saying.

Some Iranian officials are also attempting to smooth over tensions caused by Ahmadinejad's comments.

In a Friday prayer speech, the former speaker of the Iranian parliament, Aliakbar Nateq-Noori, said that what Ahmadinejad meant was that free and fair elections should be held in Palestine, with the participation of all Palestinians, including refugees, and that whoever wins the election should take over the government.

But in reality:
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fired Iran's ambassadors to England, France and Germany. He has also ordered 18 envoys recalled to Tehran (there's an order I wouldn't be following anytime soon).

Following from Iran Focus:

“Ahmadinejad has been angered by what he sees as the envoys’ meek reaction to the global condemnation of his Wednesday speech against Israel and the West”, an official, who requested anonymity, said. “He made the speech with the full blessing of the Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] and has his green light to stifle any dissenting voice within the government”.

The madman Mahmoud marched in the streets of Tehran on Friday alongside tens of thousands of people supporting his call for the destruction of Israel. Does this sound like a man who didn't mean what he said? I don't hear him retracting, explaining or backing off his statement.

And why haven't we hear from our own hemisphere's local lunatic, Hugo Chavez? He was upset because some American clergyman suggested assasination as a way of improving Venezuela's ambience. Well, Hugo your buddy in Iran just called for wiping out an entire country. Why aren't you performing one of your tinhorn dictatorial tirades over that?

Finally, let's see how our own politicians respond. Hillary needs to court that Jewish vote in NYC. I'm waiting to see the moral outrage from our resident clowns in Washington. Will they call for the head of the meshugener Mahmoud?

Religion Is A Basic Human Right, Not A Gift Of The State

I would like to draw your attention to an article by Alicia Colon in The New York Sun.

The piece is entitled, "the Assault On Religion In America" and mentions The Becket Fund, which describes itself as a nonprofit, nonpartisan, interfaith, legal and educational institute dedicated to protecting the free expression of all religious traditions. We operate in three arenas: in the courts of law (litigation), in the court of public opinion (media), and in the academy (scholarship).

The Becket Fund is named after Thomas รก Becket (1118-70 AD), who stood resolutely at the intersection of Church and State. As a friend of King Henry II, Becket served as Chancellor of England and oversaw the laws of the kingdom. But as Archbishop of Canterbury, he steadfastly refused to allow the King to interfere in the Church, and was martyred by the King's knights for defending the principle of religious liberty.

Included in the mission statement of The Becket Fund is the following:

Freedom of religion is a basic human right that no government may lawfully deny; it is not a gift of the state, but instead is rooted in the inherent dignity of the human person. Religious expression (of all traditions) is a natural part of life in civilized society, and religious arguments (on all sides of a question) are a normal and healthy element of public debate. Religious people and institutions are entitled to participate in government affairs on an equal basis with everyone else, and should not be excluded for professing their faith.

I think this is closer to the reality of what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they laid the foundation of this great nation. The termites of the ACLU have been working feverishly to destroy that framework. It is time to call the exterminators and proceed with pest control.

The Persian Devil Must Be Cast Out

Iranians staged anti-Israel protests across the country on Friday, repeating calls by their president for the Jewish state's destruction.

What will the nations of the world do? Will they meet this threat head on and treat Iran as the terrorist rogue it is or will they stand by as they did the last time a maniac threatened the Jews with annihilation? Or, will the different rules that the world holds Islamic nations to win out as they always have before? Consider, if you will, what the consequences would have been if Sharon would have said he wanted to wipe out the Palestinians.

A few have expressed the disgust and anger that should have been the immediate reaction to an outrageous hate speech such as this.

Tony Blair said,
he had a "real sense of revulsion" over President Ahmadinejad's comments, describing them as a "disgrace".

Blair said: "These sentiments are completely and totally unacceptable.

"I have never come across a situation of the president of a country saying they want to wipe out - not that they have got a problem with or an issue with - but want to wipe out another country.

"This is unacceptable and their attitude towards Israel, their attitude towards terrorism, their attitude on the nuclear weapons issue isn't acceptable."

Blair is absolutely on the mark. The French, on the other hand,
summoned the Iranian ambassador in France to explain his President’s comments. What's to explain? Do they not have the ability to translate Farsi into French?

And Kofi Annan expressed "dismay", probably because he can't figure out how to make an extra buck on this crisis yet.

The Iranian president spoke his heart and the hearts of millions of others. These wild eyed fanatics are still caught up in a world that for everyone else ended centuries ago. Despite some backpedaling on the part of a few minor officials what you have, clearly stated, is the goal not only of the Iranian government but that of many Arab governments as well.

The civilized world can ill afford to continue ignoring this threat that will not go away. It didn't work for Neville Chamberlain and it isn't going to work for us.

What follows is some of the continuing rhetoric still seeping up from that Islamic pig sty.

Tehran, 27 Oct. (AKI) - In a gesture of support for Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Islamic Revolutionary guards on Thursday joined his recent and controversial call for Israel to be "wiped off the map". "If this cancer (Israel) is not removed from the Islamic world, Muslims will sustain immense harm," said their spokesman, Seyyed Massoud Jazayeri. Ahmadinejad made his remarks at a Palestinian solidarity conference in Tehran on Wednesday, provoking angry condemnation from Western nations.

"This wound was opened more than half a century ago and has still not been healed, because in the Islamic world, some leaders and regimes, which have not been democratically elected by their own people, continue to rule, with the help of Western imperialism," Jazayeri continued.

"A world without Zionism, and the obliteration of Israel from the face of the earth, is not only the objective of Iran, but of the whole Muslim world," he added, pointing out that these goals had been underlined by the country's revolutionary leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, more than 20 years ago.

"At the time, many thought they were just propaganda slogans, but by reiterating them now, president Ahmadinejad has reminded us that they involve a strategy shared by most of the Islamic world," Jazayeri noted.

Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki has sent a circular to the country's diplomats - many of who have beeen summoned by the Western nations to provide explanation for Ahmadinejad's comments - to "go on the offensive".

"You should present yourselves to the authorities in the countries where you live, to strongly protest against the indifference shown by Western nations to the suffering of the Palestinian people and urge Europe's condemnation of Israel," the circular read.

ACLU And Another Attack On Law Enforcement

The ACLU continues to run amok. Chris Link, the executive director for the ACLU of Ohio, sent out a written statement Tuesday titled “ACLU calls for Sherriff Dan Beck to end race-based profiling.” When asked if she had proof of race-based profiling, Link said she did not but said she worries there is something to all the concerns about which she has heard and read.

The following is taken directly from the ACLU Ohio website.

LIMA, Ohio— Today, The ACLU of Ohio called on Allen County Sheriff Dan Beck to end recent practices of his department that have unfairly targeted Americans of Mexican descent. Beginning in August 2005, officers began pulling over people who appeared to be of Mexican heritage and asking for their identification and any immigration paperwork. Beck justified this as attempts to locate undocumented immigrants.

Several concerned community members contacted the Mexican Consulate in Detroit, Michigan regarding the racial profiling occurring in Allen County. The Consul, Antonio Meza, responded by penning a letter to Beck cautioning him to not implement racial profiling techniques and offering to meet with the sheriff to talk further about both of their concerns.

What appears to be happening here is collusion between the Mexican Consulate and the ACLU to harass law enforcement so that illegals can continue breaking our laws uninterrupted. Beck said the bigger issue is that Link and her organization are trying to put pressure on police agencies that address the illegal immigration issue.
“She is trying to justify her existence and the existence of the American Civil liberties Union,” he said.

So, here we have the ACLU making undocumented charges, why? Well here's part of the reason.

Link also said she was concerned the climate in the country following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, is fueling the fire and creating a larger audience for officials such as Beck. She said Muslims were unfairly profiled following the attacks.
“We are deeply concerned about these themes that are appearing. Do we have to be reminded that we are all immigrants,” she said.

I don't know about Link but I am not an immigrant. An immigrant is someone who comes from another country and takes up residence. I (as my parents) was born here. Of course, this is an old leftwing trick of trying to assign new definitions to a word to bolster their arguments.

This is just another example of the ACLU profiling the occupation of law enforcement. Those in authority who do not advocate the socialist agenda of the ACLU are bad and need to be persecuted.

Link states she's "concerned" about the climate of the country which is just another way of saying she's afraid our nation is distancing itself from the bane of the ACLU.

Don't forget sometime back they even attacked Ohio's motto, "With God all things are possible." They lost that one. Let's make sure they continue to lose so our country wins.

Thanks to The Lima News.

Or Get Off The Pot!

“I’ll work with members of Congress to create a program that will provide for our economy’s labor needs without harming American workers and without granting amnesty, and that will relieve pressure on our borders,”.

That is from the president's recent weekly radio address. How long have we been hearing this?

Notice, that the first part of his statement is not enforcing our laws (something I thought was part of the chief executive's job), not securing our borders (ditto), but providing for our labor needs. Let's talk about these needs. No one has proven that we need an illegal work force to keep the economy moving. Back when there were no child labor laws there were chicken little economists who saw factories collapsing if kids were removed from the assembly lines. The laws passed and the factories fared just fine.

In addition, we still have an able bodied unemployed pool of workers. If they refuse to work available jobs, then they need to be removed from the welfare roles. It is way past time that we stop rewarding people for indolence

It is the politician's game to assume an unproven premise and then extrapolate from it. There is no given that our economy will crumble if we do not feed the illegal beast.

Then, we have the little disclaimer, "without harming the American worker." The American worker is harmed daily by this illegal invasion of our country. Who, but the American worker, is paying for the law enforcement, medical, educational and legal costs? Who, but the American worker, is suffering crimes against their person and their property? If you are so concerned about the American worker then do what the majority of them want you to do, enforce our laws.

The time for speeches and political propaganda is over. As politely as I can rephrase an old saying, Mr. President, it is time to defecate or abdicate.

Peace In The Grave

It's nice to know America doesn't have a monopoly on the, shall we say, eccentric.

Perhaps someone could introduce Cindy Sheehan to this as a new form of protest. An underground pit certainly seems an appropriate environment and may give her a foretaste of eternity. As for the chanting, I'm sure we can trot out Joan Bozo Baez and a few others to sing old protest songs while Cindy's body "lies a moulding".

A Japanese woman buried herself in an underground pit in India for three days to try to create a better world.

Yogmata Japaki remained without food and water for 72 hours inside the 15ft pit in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh to bring peace and order to earth.

She was inspired by the recent earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir, reports Asian News International.

While the Buddhist woman meditated in the pit, her colleagues chanted religious hymns over ground.

After emerging from the pit she said: "I have prayed so that there is no suffering or disturbance. I am very happy that love and peace will be there."

Pilot Baba, a Hindu associate who witnessed the event, said: "The soul and the body gets purified by this."

The Kerry Cover Up Continues

So John, you're still interested in running for the presidency but you still won't tell the entire truth about your past.

How about telling us what you talked about in secret with Madame Binh, the chief Viet Cong negotiator at the Paris peace talks? These , John, would have been unauthorized discussions that happened while you were still an officer in the US Naval Reserve.

How about explaining to us why you have not spoken out forcefully against the Communist attacks on your fellow Catholics in Viet Nam?

John, just publish your full and complete military records and that will be a fine beginning. Put to rest those rumors that there is something less than honorable about your record. We're waiting, John.

We can't hear you!

Was It In The Contract?

Here's another reason why considering international law is not a good idea. Can someone be sued for fraud if they fake orgasms?

The whole judiciary, worldwide, is in chaos because we seem to have lost the ability to tell people we don't allow morons and fools to waste the court's time.

A Brazilian woman is suing her partner for not giving her orgasms.

According to Terra Noticias Populares reports the unnamed 31-year-old filled a complaint at Chacar Urbana Police station in Jundiai.

She complained that her 38-year-old partner reached an orgasm and then simply stopped the sexual intercourse.

Police chief Jose Roberto Ferraz is investigating the case.

Police spokesperson said: "We will look into it, we will treat it as an ordinary complaint and let the judge decide."

Sunday Funny Time Again

On a stormy winter's nights, a man staggered into the dining room of a remote resort. The manager helped the man to a table, and got him some hot food. "I'm really sorry that I can't seat you at a table closer to the fire, sir, but the attorneys for the ACLU are having a retreat here and they have taken all those spaces."

As the man ate, and tried to warm up, he thanked the manager for his hospitality.

One of the lawyers noticed the snow covered figure and said , " Stranger, you look like you've been through hell and back."

"Indeed I have," said the man.

"Really?" laughed the lawyer. "So, tell us how are things in hell?"

"Just like here," the man replied, "the ACLU is closest to the fire."

US Installations Still Lack Security

Isn't there something wrong with a system that allows illegal aliens access to the heart of our military installations? How can it be that this long after the terrorist strike of 9/11 and the following attacks on our allies and threats against us, we are still finding security breaches around the country.

The words of concern that come from our government are certainly not displayed in their actions.
Despite all the rhetoric, we still have not secured our borders and are as vulnerable as ever to terrorist attack. Why will our government not protect us?

RALEIGH, N.C. — Scores of illegal immigrants working as cooks, laborers, janitors, even foreign-language instructors have been seized at military bases around the country in the past year, raising concerns in some quarters about security and troop safety.

The immigrants did not work directly for the military but for private contractors, as part of a large-scale effort by the Pentagon to outsource many routine rear-echelon jobs and free up the troops to concentrate on waging war.

Some worry that this fast-growing practice could make U.S. military installations more vulnerable to security breaches.

“We can’t let down our guard,” said Rep. Robin Hayes, a North Carolina Republican whose district includes Fort Bragg, home of the Army’s Special Operations Command. “The motive of these particular individuals remains unclear. However, my greatest concern is that they were able to gain access to the installation at all.”

Since the Sept. 11 attacks, immigration officials have focused on military bases as well as airports, nuclear power plants and the nation’s power grid. In the past year, they have caught about 150 illegal immigrants at military installations around the country, said Jamie Zuieback, a spokeswoman for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement service in Washington.

There is no evidence any of them had any links to terrorists, though investigations are continuing, Zuieback said. She said the agency is concerned that such installations “could be vulnerable to exploitation by someone who has ill intent.”

This month, officials arrested three foreign language instructors at Fort Bragg. Over the summer, authorities apprehended 74 construction workers lacking documentation at Camp Lejeune, the Marines’ major base on the Atlantic Ocean, and caught 49 illegal immigrants at North Carolina’s Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Illegals have also been caught at bases in Idaho and Florida.

Some of them were deported; others were escorted off base and released.

Security is under review at Fort Bragg, a base that was once an open post where anyone could drive unescorted, even to the commanding general’s front door.

Pulling The Plug On Dan Blather

Dan Rather was to speak at the University of North Florida Friday night. Get this! His speech was called the "Changing Dynamics of Media: Keeping Citizens Informed."

Keeping citizens informed of what? Does he have more forged documents we haven't seen?

At an interview he said the following:

"There's a lot of good reporting out there. I am concerned about the lowering of standards and the pandering to the audience." Was he referring to himself?

Why are people still interviewing this psychotic? If it wasn't Dan who helped drive down standards and pandered to his leftwing audience and superiors then who was it , Jayson Blair, Stephen Glass? Is Dan still channeling Edward R. Murrow? And if so what's the frequency?

For pity's sake if you want to do something for the guy make him the mental health poster boy for the MSM and be done with it. Actually, the left is pushing euthanasia this year...there you go Danny boy. Courage!

Child Saved From ACLU Environment

Here's a gem from Jay at Stop the ACLU.

Newborn Taken From Mother and Convicted Sex Offender

You might want to read the entire article over at The NY Times. I say that because there seems to be some debate as to whether the baby should have been taken from its mother so quickly.
I just want to point out that not only did the baby's father serve a ten year sentence as a violent sex offender in NY 20 years ago, there are some added items of interest about him. It is alleged that besides the two girls he was convicted of raping, Mr. WolfHawk had abused his daughter, who is now in her 30's. He denied this.

Also, Mr. WolfHawk changed his name and declares himself chief of an Indian tribe called the Unole E Quoni, which he says has 175 families but is not recognized by any government. Ms. WolfHawk's lawyer said the two met 11 or 12 years ago; they are both members of the tribe.

I'll bet they are. That would be a tribe that lives between the Heckawi and the Shugs? Any F Troop fans out there?

Do you think we're talking "toys in the attic" here? A "few beers shy of a six pack"?

This is probably an unhealthy environment for the child for many, many reasons but I'm sure the ACLU doesn't consider any of them valid. After all, if we were to raise mentally, emotionally, spiritually mature and aware children their membership would disappear.

Left Plans Deathfest

This is one of the sickest items I have ever had the misfortune to run across. A group called American Friends Service Committee is planning deathfests when 2000 of our military have been killed. They are co-sponsered by Gold Star Families For Peace(Cindy Sheehans of the world), Iraq Veterans Against the War (breeding ground for future John Kerrys), and Military Families Speak Out (spawner of the first nut group). The group is referring to them as "vigils" but when you plan your meeting around someone's untimely demise your "vigil" becomes a ghoulish gathering. Once again the left shows its lack of sensitivity to the families of the fallen and the rest of a nation that prays that number 2000 will never happen. They just don't get it.

Here's an item from their FAQs. Guess who else is in on this? If you guessed MoveOn then you guessed right!

Has MoveOn been contacted about promoting the event?

We’ve received this question many times. And the answer is yes. AFSC and MoveOn are both members of the Win Without War Coalition and we have been talking with them. We believe that they are going to call for vigils for the same day. So far, their web site has not yet announced vigils. Stay tuned. Should MoveOn post a call for vigils, feel free to list your event on the MoveOn site as well.

Go to little green footballs and read what these sick individuals have planned along with the proposed locations. If there's one near you maybe you can organize a counter demonstration.

Thanks to The Ghouls Of The Left by Michelle Malkin.

No Child's Safe Program of the ACLU

This from MSNBC.

Kansas cannot punish illegal underage sex more severely if it involves homosexual conduct, the state’s highest court ruled unanimously Friday in a case watched by national groups on both sides of the gay rights debate.

The Supreme Court said in a unanimous ruling that a law that specified such harsher treatment and led to a 17-year prison sentence for an 18-year-old defendant “suggests animus toward teenagers who engage in homosexual sex.”

And now the part you've all been waiting for, where the ACLU attorney attempts to have a sodomy charge reduced to "following too closely".

Limon’s lawyer, James Esseks of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Lesbian and Gay Rights Project, said: “We are very happy that Matthew will soon be getting out of prison. We are sorry there is no way to make up for the extra four years he spent in prison simply because he is gay.”

The Attorney General's office described Limon as a predator, noting that he already has two similar offenses on his criminal record. They contended that such a behavior pattern warranted a tough sentence and that courts should leave sentencing policy to the Legislature.

A lower court had said the state could justify the harsher punishment as protecting children’s traditional development, fighting disease or strengthening traditional values.

But noooo! The predator is free thanks to you know who. They are against what the lower court tried to protect, children's traditional development and strengthening traditional values. The ACLU wants new end very different traditions and it has targeted our kids.

Hugo Chavez, A New October Crisis?

There's an interesting article in the daily Standard regarding the relationship between Iran and Venezuela. If Iran is allowed to complete its nuclear plans and, in turn, attempts to partner with Venezuela in spreading that technology to the anti-American government of Chavez then perhaps Hugo truly has reason to fear an American invasion.

A nuclear presence in the hands of an unfriendly nation in our hemisphere is no more acceptable now than it was back in 1962. In fact, tomorrow is the anniversary of JFK informing the world that the Soviet Union was building secret missile bases in Cuba, only 90 miles off the shores of Florida.

Kennedy ordered a naval blockade of Cuba to prevent Russian ships from bringing additional missiles to the island. Khrushchev authorized his Soviet field commanders in Cuba to launch tactical nuclear weapons if invaded by U.S. forces. The two leaders stared each other down for seven days and then Khrushchev blinked. The whole period is remembered as "The Cuban Missle Crisis".

Meanwhile, back in the present, when the IAEA passed a resolution calling on Iran "to observe fully its commitments and to return to the negotiating process that has made good progress in the last two years", the only no vote was from Venezuela.

Chavez is already making noise about the pursuit of peaceful nuclear energy and close collaboration between Venezuela and Iran.

Hugo is trying to pick up where Fidel left off. The question is do we have someone to pick up where JFK left off?

Russ Feingold, Actively At Work For the ACLU

There is an event held each year at the ACLU Cleveland Chapter Annual Meeting.

This year the guest speaker was Russ Feingold, Wisconsin democrat senator. Russ has a lifetime approval rating of 86% from the ACLU.

A description of Feingold from the ACLU website follows:

"First elected to the United States Senate in 1992 and re-elected in 1998 and 2004, Senator Russ Feingold is committed to ensuring that all Americans enjoy the rights and protections guaranteed in the Constitution. By supporting privacy protections, working to fight discrimination, and urging for a moratorium on the death penalty, Senator Feingold has stood up for his convictions and set an inspiring example for other leaders and civil libertarians to follow."

Read between the lines. Russ is at work for the ACLU on the Senate floor.

Here's one of Feingolds contributions.

S122
Federal Death Penalty Abolition Act

This bill would abolish the use of the death penalty by the federal government. It directs that any person sentenced to death before the date of enactment shall instead serve a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

I have decided that rather then making my annual contribution to a political party, I will spread my money around supporting candidates who oppose the selling of America by those who would destroy her. Today America, Tomorrow The World

"The United States deserves to be militarily defeated in Iraq. It should be forced to withdraw from that country. The U.S. is waging a war of aggression, invading and occupying a country that did it no harm and had been no threat, overthrowing its government, killing tens of thousands of its people, including civilians, torturing others, remaining in the country even after overthrowing its government, violating the wishes of most of its people, trying to sell off its oil, and planning to maintain U.S. military bases there for a long time. All this was justified by a campaign of lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction and about ties to terrorism. If international law means anything at all, this is an illegal war. This vile war of aggression should be lost! (I am concentrating on the war in Iraq here, although these arguments would mostly apply also to U.S. intervention in Afghanistan. and its support for the Israeli state against the Palestinians.)"

The preceeding was taken from an essay by a self described anarchist. If you would like to raise your blood pressure and read this entire vacuous dissertation go here. The group promoting this swill is NEFAC (North Eastern Federation of Anarchist Communists) and their site is in English and French (how appropriate). The aims and principles of this inane organization can be found here. Following, are a few of their trite childish slogans: "There will be no revolution without women's liberation. There will be no women's liberation without revolution." "From each according to ability, to each according to need."

These groups always need slogans, the repetition of which keeps them in that hypnotic zombie like state where reason and logic cannot penetrate. Oh well,if they weren't doing this they'd probably be off taking drugs. Then...maybe this is your brain on drugs.

Lovers Of Martyrdom And Freedom's Apostates

Iran is preparing, they know the showdown is coming. North Korea and the Chinese are both possible suppliers of missles to Iran and there has been talk of some cruise missles acquired from the Ukraine. The Iranians definitely have chemical weapons and the means to deliver them. As you will see from the article below their fanatical human bombs are at the ready.

As the nuclear crisis comes to a head and Israel 's concerns increase, the US will be drawn ever closer toward a larger conflict. The government in Tehran is like the one in P'yongyang. They will never negotiate in good faith but rather lie and deceive to eventually gain the upper hand. That may simply mean making the cost so high that civilized nations will balk at confrontation.

The road ahead is full of foreboding, for the enemy already senses our lack of resolve. The Cindy Sheehans, Dick Durbins, Jane Fondas, Danny Glovers, Russ Feingolds, Howard Deans, Harry Belafontes and the rest of their craven cohorts have placed our nation's security at great risk. The image they have projected is one of cowardice, self indulgence and appeasement. Hopefully, we will not all have to pay the price for their spineless stupidity.

Tehran, Iran, Oct. 17 – Volunteers for suicide bombing operations will be honoured during a ceremony attended by senior Iranian government officials later this month, the spokesman for the “Headquarters for Commemoration of Martyrs of Global Islamic Movement” said on Sunday.

The gathering which will take place in Tehran on October 30 has been entitled “Men of the Sun”, Mohammad-Ali Samadi announced in an interview with the state-owned Mehr news agency.

Samadi said that forms would be provided to attendees to volunteer for suicide operations, adding, “Until now, 40,000 people have signed up for martyrdom-seeking operations and three battalions of volunteers for these operations have been formed and the formation of more battalions will be announced in due course”.

Last week, a top general of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a direct threat to the United States and its allies, warning that the Islamic Republic had identified “all the weak points of our enemies” and has suicide operation volunteers “ready to strike at these sensitive locations” in retaliation to any attack.

“We know all of the enemies’ weak points and what to do against them. Today, we have martyrdom-seeking individuals who are ready to strike at these sensitive points”, Brigadier General Mohammad Kossari, who heads the Security Bureau of Iran’s Armed Forces, told the state-run news agency ILNA.

Last month, Iran’s newly-installed Defence Minister announced that the Islamic Republic had volunteers for suicide bombing that enabled the country to stand up to foreign enemies.

Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar, a veteran Revolutionary Guards commander, told a gathering of Guards commanders in Tehran, “The Iranian nation has martyrdom-seeking Bassij forces, and so there is no need for nuclear weapons”, according to Parto-Sokhan, an ultra-Islamist weekly close to Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The Bassij - affiliated to the IRGC - are hard-line Islamist vigilantes loyal to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“A nation which has a spirit of devotion, sacrifice, self-forgoing, and martyrdom-seeking does not need nuclear weapons and can use its devoted forces to stand against the enemies and neutralise all their threats”, Defence Minister Mohammad-Najjar said.

“Our martyrs have shown the world powers that Islamic Iran is alive, dynamic, and willing to make the biggest sacrifices to defend its values and dignity”, Mohammad-Najjar said.

In July, Parto-Sokhan conducted a series of interviews with the commander of a military garrison that was opened in Iran to recruit and train volunteers for “martyrdom-seeking operations”.

Mohammad-Reza Jaafari, a general in the IRGC, told the weekly that the new “Lovers of Martyrdom Garrison” (Gharargahe Asheghane Shahadat, in Persian) would recruit individuals willing to carry out suicide operations against Western targets.

Two Faced Kerry Does 360 On The 180

John Kerry release your records and let us know the truth…what is in those 100 or so missing pages.

Does John Kerry know what truth is?

On the Senate floor, Kerry has said that he was in Cambodia Christmas 1968, that the memory had been "seared – seared in me. Then, he admitted he had not been in Cambodia on Christmas in 1968"but it was a different day", that he had "jumbled the two together, but we were five miles into Cambodia."

John, none of your stories match up, including the one you told the Fulbright Committee in 1971. That's the fabrication about out our military being "war criminals" and committing atrocities that never happened. You besmirched the honor of our fighting men and women including 58,000 who never came home.

Border Murder And Mayhem

These murders happened less than 20 miles from where I live. When fugitives kill people because of their reckless conduct while trying to evade the authorities, we should be able to charge them with homicide.
Instead, we try to blame the police or the border patrol and turn the criminals into victims. This scum has no regard for human life. They traffic in it, they rob and they rape and they kill when it suits their purpose. Where is the justice for the deaths they have caused? When will the government gain control of our borders. Why do we not have recourse with those who have sworn to uphold and protect our constitution? Democrats and Republicans alike have sold us out to foreign powers. We must hold them accountable.

SIERRA VISTA (AP) - Two illegal immigrants facing criminal charges in a wreck that left an elderly couple, three immigrants and an unborn child dead are scheduled for trial early next month.

James Harold Lee and Emilia Guthrie Lee were killed a year ago Sunday when the truck they were in was crushed by a stolen vehicle that was carrying at least 17 illegal immigrants.

The stolen vehicle was traveling more than 100 mph when it flipped and hit nine cars stopped at a turning lane.

The wreck also injured 21 people at the intersection.

State authorities concluded tire spikes used to halt the stolen vehicle didn't cause the crash and instead blamed the driver's dangerous behavior.

Four men were charged in the wreck.

Jimir Valle Martinez, 22, and Carlos Cortez, 30, are accused of being the driver and ‘‘co-pilot'' in the stolen vehicle.

Both men face charges of conspiracy to bring illegal aliens into the United States for profit, conspiracy to transport illegal aliens for profit and transporting illegal aliens resulting in death. Their trial date was set for Nov. 7 in Tucson.

Two other men - Jose Luis Zepada-Cruz, 25, and Wilbert Garcia, 21 - are awaiting trial on charges related to the wreck.

Guard Our Borders Blogburst

This is a reprint of something I posted last month, but I think it is appropriate for the Secure Our Borders rant of the day.

Early in the year, in his State of the Union speech, President Bush hinted at what might be coming to address the border debacle. He said, we "should not be content with laws that punish hardworking people who only want to provide for their families." Thus, began the marketing of his "guest worker" program, the reward to illegals and the selling out of America to buy Latin votes.

The truth is our laws, when they are enforced, are there to protect our citizens' lives and property. They provide an organized, structured means to determine who should be allowed in this country and for how long. To imply that our laws were meant to punish law abiding productive citizens or legal aliens is not only untrue but unworthy of the president of these United States. But the president was not referring to citizens or legal aliens, he meant criminals who had broken our laws and were living in our country without permission. He meant he wants to give them a free pass but refuses to call it amnesty. It's all in the words, illegal becomes undocumented and undocumented becomes "hardworking people who only want to provide for their families"

Now, Karl Rove is at the point, mustering support for Bush's plan to legalize millions of criminals. Of course, there is mention of a "substantial fine", whatever that means, to make this whole fiasco easier to swallow for the vast majority of Americans who oppose rewarding lawbreakers.

Bush has said he wants to allow illegals to apply for a 3 year work visa, with a 3 year extension possible before they have to return to where they came from. This is a potential 6 year add on to all the illegal time they've been here already.

And now, Jeb Bush, Florida's governor and the president's brother, in a speech, calls on the federal government to change immigration policy because it is "stifling" international travel and commerce. What a crock of horse manure. This is just another step in the Bush marketing plan to ram millions of illegal criminals down Uncle Sam's throat.

Watch closely in the coming weeks as this issue becomes increasingly tense and the stakes are raised. Arms will be twisted, deals will be closed and the selling out of America will continue to be launched, I'm afraid, from Pennsylvania avenue.

Remember, John McCain and Teddy Kennedy are in bed together on this agenda. If Bush doesn't get his way, John will run on the immigration issue, claiming his experience as senator of a border state gives him deep undertsanding of the problem on both sides, as if there were more than one side.

Our nation is in deep trouble because we have elected representatives who refuse to honor and enforce the laws they disagree with. They are no better and perhaps worse than the lawbreakers they seek to reward. We must remove them from office or we deserve what we get.

Palestinian Sermon Of Peace And Tolerance

Palestinian Friday Sermon by Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris: Muslims Will Rule America and Britain, Jews Are a Virus Resembling AIDS. Read more of this venom here.

This is the legacy of Arafat and his coterie of hate mongers. This is the culture of suicide bombers and war on innocents of all sides. The poison that has been injected into the Palestinian psyche will take years to dilute and one must wonder if that culture will ever be 100% healthy.

Still, what manner of people tolerate this kind of hate speech? These are the rantings of a madman.

Allah has tormented us with "the people most hostile to the believers" – the Jews. "Thou shalt find that the people most hostile to the believers to be the Jews and the polytheists." Allah warned His beloved Prophet Muhammad about the Jews, who had killed their prophets, forged their Torah, and sowed corruption throughout their history.

With the establishment of the state of Israel, the entire Islamic nation was lost, because Israel is a cancer spreading through the body of the Islamic nation, and because the Jews are a virus resembling AIDS, from which the entire world suffers.

You will find that the Jews were behind all the civil strife in this world. The Jews are behind the suffering of the nations.

Serving Papers On God

It was just a matter of time. The only things missing are an attorney from the ACLU and Michael Newdow.

Romania seems to have the good sense to plan on dismissing the complaint without much ado. I'm not so sure our system is capable of such lucid thinking anymore.

A Romanian prisoner is suing God for failing to save him from the Devil.

The inmate, named as Pavel M in media reports, accused God of "cheating, abuse and traffic of influence".

His complaint reads: "I, the undersigned Pavel M, currently jailed at Timisoara Penitentiary serving a 20 years sentence for murder, request legal action against God, resident in Heaven, and represented here by the Romanian Orthodox Church, for committing the following crimes: cheating, concealment, abuse against people's interest, taking bribe and traffic of influence."

The inmate argued that his baptism was a contract between him and God who was supposed to keep the Devil away and keep him out of trouble.

He added: "God even claimed and received from me various goods and prayers in exchange for forgiveness and the promise that I would be rid of problems and have a better life.

"But on the contrary I was left in Devil's hands."

The complaint was sent to the Timisoara Court of Justice and forwarded to the prosecutor's office.

But prosecutors said it would probably be dropped and they were unable to subpoena God to court.

Will Conservatism Soon Be Illegal?

Mark Noonan has an excellent piece at GOP Bloggers called "The Crime of Being Conservative". My take away on this was the phrase "keeping in mind that the left holds actual law in contempt"

This is a statement of great significance. The left picks and chooses what laws it will obey, it believes the end justifies the means and it has no use for the self discipline of personal integrity.

The left is only for majority rule if the majority decision weighs in their favor, if not, then they would subject us to the tyranny of the minority. This, in turn, causes laws to be ignored and unenforced, instilling an undercurrent of disrespect for the law in general. When the rule of law is so abused, we are all in great danger.

Please read Mark's article and check out his link to Jeffrey Bell and William Kristol's piece at The Weekly Standard.

Hillary Preparing For 2008

For once a Clinton actually told the truth, followed, of course, by denying it. Maybe she's taking a lesson from Kerry. I was preparing for 2008 before I decided to prepare for 2006.

The duplicitous duo, Bill and Hillary have their devious minds and treacherous hearts set on a third Clinton presidency and making Hillary the first female president. This has been the plan for a long time. Is it any wonder she couldn't contain herself? However, she must be contained for the good of the Republic.

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's slip was showing yesterday, when she inadvertently contradicted months of denials that she hasn't made her mind up to run for president.

Asked on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" - "So you are preparing for 2008?" - Clinton responding without thinking: "I am."

Recognizing the mega-gaffe immediately, the former first lady sought to amend her comments.

"No, no, no," she stammered to DeGeneres. "I am preparing for 2006."

Afghanistan And Israel

Here is another positive result from the expulsion of the Taliban. The beginning of normal relations between Israel and the muslim world will go a long way toward establishing peace in the Middle East. Once the fanatics are isolated and labeled as the problem, not the solution then a major victory in the War on Terror will have been achieved.

Karzai certainly needs to be commended for this risky step, but it was a step that someone needed to make.

Afghanistan has decided to formally establish relations with Israel, the Pakistani newspaper the Daily Times reported Saturday.

According to the Web site of the English-language newspaper, Pakistan's ARY news channel quoted Afghani diplomatic sources as saying that the administration of Afghani President Hamid Karzai has decided to serve as a trailblazer for the Muslim world.

According to the report, “The official announcement of the recognition will be made in the next few days.” The government's vital decision, the report said, “will pave the way for other Muslim countries such as Pakistan to follow suit.”

Library Internet Nude Gambling Searches Saved By ACLU

The ACLU was concerned that library patrons in Rhode Island might not have sufficient access to nudity, gambling...and maybe nude gambling on the internet. The librarys had been trying to block inappropriate sites to protect children but the ever vigilant ACLU not giving a rat's butt about kids was going to have none of that. Heaven forbid that some adult might find themselves blocked during a nudity web search, the freedom of all Americans would be in peril.
Of course there is the disclaimer that the ACLU is concerned about the blocking of medical information and more of the horse manure veneer they always paint over their frivolous suits. They want us to believe that blocking words like "gambling" at the library is a serious impediment to free speech.

The following is the ACLU press release.

Following ACLU Action, Rhode Island Public Libraries Agree to Give Patrons Increased Access to Internet'

PROVIDENCE, RI -- Responding to a report released earlier this year by the American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island, the state's library network has revised its Internet blocking procedure to increase access to information for public library patrons, addressing ACLU fears that libraries were "inappropriately discouraging or barring patrons' access to constitutionally protected material."

"We are pleased that the state's public libraries have taken a positive step toward ensuring that library patrons have the freest possible access to the Internet," said Steven Brown, Executive Director of the ACLU.

The revisions come in response to an ACLU report released in April. According to the report, the Cooperating Libraries Automated Network (CLAN), a non-profit consortium of public libraries headed by the state's library directors and a separate staff, was blocking Internet content beyond what is required by a controversial federal law known as the Children's Internet Protection Act. CLAN manages a statewide library blocking program to comply with the law's mandate that all libraries receiving certain federal funds limit Internet access. CLAN determines what basic content categories the software blocks.

The ACLU report found that CLAN's minimum blocking level – configured to block "sex," "adult content," and "nudity," as defined and identified by the software's manufacturers – exceeded the law's required blocking of material deemed obscene or harmful to minors. The report also noted that CLAN failed to facilitate "unblocking," or temporary disarming, of the software during Internet use by adult library patrons, despite the fact that this option is required by both the law and a U.S. Supreme Court decision interpreting the law.

In a recent letter to the ACLU, CLAN President Kathryn Taylor said CLAN had moved quickly to rectify the problems. She said the "nudity" category – which blocked any "nude or semi-nude human forms not overtly sexual in intent or effect" – had been dropped from CLAN's minimum software setting. That category had blocked access to a wide range of medical and other information. In addition, a message was added to the standardized blocking screen telling patrons to ask a librarian if they want the site unblocked. According to the ACLU, Taylor also said that CLAN sent an e-mail with unblocking instructions to the director of each local library.

But the ACLU is concerned that some libraries have independently chosen to block categories beyond CLAN's minimum option. Four libraries reported such additional blocks on the ACLU's most recent survey, while 18 libraries failed to respond to the survey, leaving the extent of over-blocking unclear. ACLU officials say that libraries that block these additional categories, which range from "gambling" to "illegal," are creating a serious impediment to free speech.

According to the Library Journal CLAN (Cooperating Libraries Automated Network)President Kathryn Taylor said, "As the executive director of a library that did not respond to the original questionnaire, I can report that Westerly Public Library blocks the two required categories only. For the ACLU to imply that those libraries not responding to their questions were perhaps blocking extra sites is inappropriate. I have no wish to quarrel with the ACLU. We need to address the real problem: the Children's Internet Protection Act."

Sunday's Funny Delivered On Saturday

A second grade teacher asked her students what their parents did for a living. "Jimmy, you be first," she said. "What does your mother do all day?"

Jimmy stood up and proudly said, "She's a Mommy and a Wife. She takes care of the home and me and my sister and my daddy too."

"That's wonderful," the teacher said, "and how about you, Jennifer, what does your Dad do all day?" Jennifer proudly stood up and said, "My father works at the Post Office, he is a mailman."

"Thank you, Jennifer. What about your father, Bobby?"

Bobby proudly stood up and announced boldly, "My daddy plays piano in a whorehouse."

The teacher, stunned, promptly changed the subject to spelling. Later that day she called Bobby's house. Bobby's father answered the phone. The teacher explained what his son had said, and asked why he would say such a horrible thing.

Bobby's father explained, "I'm actually an attorney for the ACLU, but how can I explain a thing like that to my seven-year-old?"

ACLU Abortion Case Put On Hold By Justice Thomas

This could develop into an interesting item although a temporary stay is sometimes issued to allow time for the filing of more arguments. I just found it pleasing to see one of the conservative justices taking the bull by the horns. Clarence Thomas cooling the jets of the ACLU. Bravo! Christmas may be coming early this year. That's right ACLU, I said CHRISTmas!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The U.S. Supreme Court U.S. Supreme Court late Friday temporarily blocked a federal judge‘s ruling that ordered Missouri prison officials to drive a pregnant inmate to a clinic on Saturday for an abortion. Justice Clarence Thomas , acting alone, granted the temporary stay pending a further decision by himself or the full court.

Under a policy adopted in July, Missouri‘s prison system does not provide transportation or security for inmates seeking abortions. The policy is based on a state law that prohibits the spending of public funds "for the purpose of performing or assisting an abortion not necessary to save the life of the mother."

The state estimated it would cost $350 plus fuel for two guards to accompany the woman on the 80-mile trip from her cell in Vandalia to a St. Louis clinic.

"It is not the prison that has imposed the burden, but the prisoner's violation of the law that resulted in her incarceration that has imposed the burden," Attorney General Jay Nixon's office said.

The woman‘s attorney, James Felakos of the American Civil Liberties Union , said in court papers that the woman is running out of time because she is 16 weeks to 17 weeks pregnant, and Missouri bars abortions after 22 weeks.

Justice Thomas handles appeals from the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which includes Missouri. He could lift the stay over the weekend, after reviewing more legal arguments.

CBS Has Its Eye On MoveOn

Over at CBSNews.com Public Eye, there is a statement about a MoveOn.org "action alert" that was sent out to its members. It was about the “60 Minutes”interview with former FBI Director Louis Freeh last weekend. MoveOn.org seems to think it played an important role in allowing the Clinton clan a rebuttal. There is much unintended comedy here. First, that Clinton would use Sandy "Baggy Pants" Berger to reply for him. The man has lost all credibility along with top secret memos and his security clearance. Second, that the editor of MoveOn.org is a Winer.

So here, without further delay, is the "action memo".

Dear Media Action member,

Last Friday was a big day for anyone who believes regular people can positively impact media coverage.

MoveOn Media Action found out CBS' 60 Minutes planned to air a one-sided interview with former FBI Director Louis Freeh criticizing the Clinton administration's handling of national security but they refused to let President Clinton's national security team respond. Many of you leapt into action, making nearly 600 calls and emails to the producers of 60 Minutes. Your phone calls and emails helped convince CBS to balance this influential program before it aired.

On Sunday, 60 Minutes added a short rebuttal by Clinton national security adviser Sandy Berger to the program. News reports indicate they didn't decide to include the comments until Friday afternoon, as your comments were pouring in.

The program featured former FBI Director Louis Freeh's allegations about a national security meeting he did not attend. Those allegations were directly refuted by at least five officials who were in the meeting, but CBS initially refused to include them in the segment.

60 Minutes' eventual inclusion of a brief rebuttal still doesn't compare to last year's 60 Minutes interview with ex-counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke criticizing President Bush on national security. At the time, CBS included a full rebuttal interview with a Bush administration official¬ far more time than CBS gave to Clinton's national security adviser.

This double standard raises concerns that CBS is caving to pressure from the right-wing in the wake of the uproar over sloppy reporting in the Bush National Guard story, so we'll continue to watch CBS closely. But last week proved the public can make a difference in promoting good journalism, and that's exactly why we've launched MoveOn Media Action.

Stay tuned, and thank you for all you do.

Noah T. Winer and Adam Green

MoveOn Media Action
Friday, October 14th, 2005

Here's a little gem from the posting regarding the alert.

The alert, which included PE’s e-mail address and urged recipients to contact and within three hours, we had received 38 e-mails doing just that and dozens continue to trickle in. Many of the e-mails parroted lines from the alert. Many apparently never even saw the piece in question, with some e-mailers saying they never watch CBS and one referring to an “upcoming” interview. Glad they were able to make those individual judgments based on an “action alert.”

When it comes down to cBS and MoveOn.org which one do you believe? Probably neither one but the confrontation alone is very amusing.

Acquitted Dutch Terrorist Arrested Again

Authorities detained seven suspects in an anti-terrorism operation Friday in three Dutch cities, officials said.

The chief suspect in the raids was Samir Azzouz, a 19-year-old Dutch national of Moroccan descent who was acquitted of terrorism charges earlier this year.

Azzouz was in the process of purchasing automatic weapons and explosives "probably to carry out an attack with others on several politicians and a government building," a prosecution statement said.

From: TwinCities.com

Here's what's interesting about Samir Azzouz. He escaped justice once already in Holland and obviously went right back to his terrorist activities. The clear warning by Pen van der Kooi has proven correct. Will we continue to ignore the warnings like the Dutch government and will we pay a higher price?

Mohammed Bouyeri, was the man who shot Theo Van Gogh then cut his throat and pinned a five-page note to his chest laced with religious ramblings and threats of further attacks on politicians.

Van Gogh was an outspoken critic of the treatment of women under Islam — the subject of his last film "Submission." He wrote a weekly newspaper column and hosted a TV talk show that he sometimes used to provoke and insult religious Muslims, as well as Jews and Christians. He targeted people he viewed as overly religious, arrogant or sensitive.

"I'm deeply religious — I worship a pig," he once said. "I call him Allah."

Prosecutors said Bouyeri belonged to a group of fundamentalists who met with a Jordanian spiritual guide at Bouyeri's house. The guide's whereabouts are now unknown.

Twelve other men accused of belonging to the group were arrested after the killing and are also awaiting trial on terrorism charges. An alleged 13th member, Samir Azzouz, was acquitted.

Mainstream Muslim organizations condemned the killing. But Bouyeri is considered a hero by some in the country's poorest immigrant neighborhoods.

Islamic fundamentalists "started a war on Sept. 11, 2001," said Pen van der Kooi, a self-described right-wing nationalist who attended the hearing. "On March 11, 2004, it came to Europe, and on Nov. 2, 2004, it came to the Netherlands," he said in a reference to the bombing of commuter trains in Madrid in March 2004.

"If the Dutch government doesn't get serious, you're going to have more of these kinds of attacks," he said.

From: FoxNews.com

If you really want to see all the incriminating evidence on Samir, go here. You will truly be amazed that this guy was walking around free.

There is a valuable lesson in what has happened here if we are willing to learn from it.

By The Company They Keep

I've been walking down dark alleys in the seedy part of town. I dropped in on the Socialist Worker on line and I noticed something very interesting. If you do an ACLU search you come up with all kinds of issues the two groups agree on. Isn't that a shocker?

Here are just a few examples:

From Nov. 2004

"Now, there is reason to believe that Washington is preparing a new round of anti-immigrant attacks. According to the ACLU, in August, agents from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security conducted heavy-handed sweeps on immigrants in conjunction with police in several cities across Washington state."

From April 2005

"IN A blow against equal marriage rights, the Oregon Supreme Court voided more than 3,000 marriage licenses issued to gay and lesbian couples last spring. The nullification came in the court’s ruling on a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of eight same-sex couples and the gay-rights group Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) that sought full rights for same-sex couples."

Nov. 2001

"George W. Bush signed the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act into law.Despite the freedom-loving acronym, the bill is a nightmare of civil rights restrictions and police powers. In short, it’s a dream come true for the Bush gang. "September 11 was the biggest boon federal law enforcement could ask for," said Laura J. Murphy, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)."

Let's see, they're both for gay "marriage", against enforcing what they call our "draconian" immigration laws and against securing our nation from terrorists. The socialists did lecture the ACLU about one thing and I really found it amusing. Here it is.

The lessons of McCarthyism

"In the face of this attack, liberal organizations turned their backs on radicals--and in many cases joined in. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), instead of defending communists, conducted its own witch-hunt to oust radicals from its ranks--such as ACLU founding member Elizabeth Gurley Flynn. It was later discovered that throughout the McCarthy years, the ACLU dutifully reported the names of communists to the FBI."

Founded by communists, advocating socialist causes, champion of atheism, enemy of family values...its time to send the ACLU packing. Let's strip them of their tax exempt status and prohibit them from being awarded attorneys fee in religious establishment cases. You can help, go here and sign the petition.

This was a production of the Stop The ACLU Blogburst. If you would like to join just go to our Protest The ACLU Portal and register. You will be added to our mailing list, and we will send you further instructions.

The Eyes Have It

Sounds like we have a modern day Svengali working the bank circuit.

Moldovan police are hunting a con man who uses hypnotism to steal from unwitting bank tellers, Deutsche Presse-Agentur quoted Infotag news agency as reporting.

The suspect, identified as Vladimir Kozak, 49, was alleged to have bilked more than $US30,000 ($39,400) from bank employees unable to resist his powers, police said.

One victim told police that Kozak's technique was to start a friendly conversation, establish eye contact, and then put her in a hypnotic state. The teller then agreed to hand over all the cash in her till.

From The Sydney Morning Herald.

On The Mercy Of The Court

This sounds like something out of an old Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni movie. But, who would leave Sophia no matter how much nagging there might be? Mama mia!

A man sentenced to nine months house arrest begged a judge to jail him instead because he couldn't stand his wife's nagging.

Algerian Ahmed Salhi, 24, was sentenced to a nine month curfew at home with his Italian wife in Ferrara, northern Italy.

But he went back to court after a week and begged the judge to jail him because he could not bear her nagging.

Salhi was sentenced to nine months house arrest after breaching immigration regulations.

But he turned up at his local courtroom and begged to be taken into custody because he said he could no longer stand living with her, and would rather be behind bars, Corriere della Sera reported.

He said: "I need some peace."

A local court agreed to the Salhi's request and he has been jailed for the rest of his sentence.

The Grinch Is Green, Radical Green

Thanks to a lawsuit by the Earth Island Institute you may not be seeing a Capitol Christmas Tree this year. A ruling by Judge James K. Singleton, of the Eastern District Court of California (what were the odds?) is causing the Forest Service to suspend 1,500+ permits for activities from Boy Scout meetings to family reunions. The left must be ecstatic, they get to screw Christmas, families and the Boy Scouts with one ruling.

This year New Mexico is to supply the nation's Christmas Tree. Here's a quote by Senator Domenici as given in The Washington Times:

"We need these reindeer games to stop so New Mexico can stay on schedule with its national holiday tree plans," said Sen. Pete V. Domenici, New Mexico Republican.
"This ruling and the Forest Service response to it would be like the Grinch who stole Christmas for the many New Mexicans who have worked well over a year to prepare for the tree's state tour and eventual trip to the nation's capital, and for school kids and groups who are already creating ornaments to festoon the tree," he said.
Mr. Domenici noted the seriousness of the court ruling's implication on the far-reaching impacts and "consequences of some environmental lawsuits," but he and Sen. Jeff Bingaman, New Mexico Democrat, are asking Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales and Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns to intervene so the holiday conifer can be delivered on schedule.
"We are troubled that the interpretation of a decision made by a Federal District Court in California may adversely affect these plans. We urge you to redouble your efforts to address concerns regarding the procurement of this year's Capitol Holiday Tree in order to resolve this situation in time for the tree's tour around New Mexico," the senators said last week in a letter to the federal officials.

Frisco Slams The Door On The USS Iowa

Back in July I wrote about this travesty in San Francisco

SF Supervisors Disrespect US Military

"This is how much the liberals hate America. They have rejected a WWII memorial because of their gay and anti-war agendas. How sad for us that these people are voted into positions of power and when they act disgracefully are not even held to account.
I will never visit this city and I hope it is skipped over by tourists more times than its own crosswalks."

Here is a little update. I should like to point out that when Diane Feinstein thinks you're being petty it might be time to do a little soul searching. Oh... you'd have to have a soul to do that.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The USS Iowa joined in battles from World War II to Korea to the Persian Gulf. It carried President Franklin Roosevelt home from the Teheran conference of allied leaders, and four decades later, suffered one of the nation's most deadly military accidents.

Veterans groups and history buffs had hoped that tourists in San Francisco could walk the same teak decks where sailors dodged Japanese machine-gun fire and fired 16-inch guns that helped win battles across the South Pacific.

Instead, it appears that the retired battleship is headed about 80 miles inland, to Stockton, a gritty agricultural port town on the San Joaquin River and home of California's annual asparagus festival.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a former San Francisco mayor, helped secure $3 million to tow the Iowa from Rhode Island to the Bay Area in 2001 in hopes of making touristy Fisherman's Wharf its new home.

City supervisors voted 8-3 last month to oppose taking in the ship, citing local opposition to the Iraq war and the military's stance on gays, among other things.

”If I was going to commit any kind of money in recognition of war, then it should be toward peace, given what our war is in Iraq right now,“ Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi said.

Feinstein called it a ”very petty decision.“

”This isn't the San Francisco that I've known and loved and grew up in and was born in,“ Feinstein said.

San Francisco's maritime museum already has one military vessel - the USS Pampanito, an attack submarine that sank six Japanese ships during World War II and has about 110,000 visitors a year.

Officials in Stockton couldn't be happier. They've offered a dock on the river, a 90,000-square-foot waterfront building and a parking area, and hope to attract at least 125,000 annual visitors.

After the Korean war, the Iowa was decommissioned and placed in reserve in a Philadelphia shipyard for three decades. In 1988, it was recalled to duty escorting oil supply ships safely in and out danger in the Persian Gulf. In 1989, 47 sailors were killed in an explosion that tore through a gun turret during a training exercise.

The warship, decommissioned by the Navy in 1990, is currently anchored with a mothballed fleet in Suisun Bay, near the mouth of the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta.

San Francisco's rejection of such a storied battleship is a slap in the nation's face, said Douglass Wilhoit, head of Stockton's Chamber of Commerce.

”We're lucky our men and women have sacrificed their lives ... to protect our freedom,“ Wilhoit said. ”Wherever you stand on the war in Iraq ... you shouldn't make a decision based on philosophy.“

Rep. Richard W. Pombo, R-Calif., has sponsored legislation authorizing the ship's permanent move to Stockton. Feinstein has countered with a bill to open bidding to any California city.

The two versions will have to be reconciled by a House-Senate conference committee considering the Pentagon spending bill.
