Tonsorial Excess Explained By Edwards

CNN reports that John Edwards was asked how he reconciled his emphasis on combating poverty with the recent disclosure that $400 in campaign funds were used to pay for his haircut.

"That was a mistake, which we've remedied," he said. "But if the question is ... whether I live a privileged and blessed lifestyle now, the answer to that's 'yes.' A lot of us do. But it's not where I come from, and I've not forgotten where I come from."

Notice how he briefly answers the question he was asked and then asks himself a question. The question should be when there is poverty in your own nation when, ever, is a $400 haircut justified or necessary. The answer is, NEVER! Perhaps growing hair on a bald pate my be worth that kind of dough, but there is nothing anyone can do to hair that is worth that price.

According to Edwards it was a mistake. Why? Because he got caught. Obviously from the answer he gave to his own question he considers $400 haircuts a blessing and a part of his privileged lifestyle. What kind of ethics and scruples did you expect from this ambulance chaser? It is amazing what rises to the top of the toxic waste that is now known as the Democrats.
