Choosing Poorly

What is Fred Thompson thinking? Why would he choose the former Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham, a Republican who is also a former senator from Michigan for his team? The New York Times says Abraham has joined Mr. Thompson in a “major role” that would be considered campaign manager if Thompson had announced his candidacy.

After calling for stronger borders and attacking shamnesty by saying, "This is our home and we get to decide who can come into our home," why does he choose someone like Abraham?

In 1997, La Raza gave then Senator Abraham their "Defender of the Melting Pot Award." That in itself is a joke because a melting pot is a place where legal immigrants of different cultures form an integrated and homogenous society. It's called assimilation and if you believe in it you don't act like La Raza. If Fred Thompson really means to be our president he should distance himself from anyone with the stench of La Raza on them.

Abraham has done everything he can to lessen immigration controls and
regulations. Why does Thompson want him on the team and why is Thompson delaying so long in announcing his candidacy?

Unless Fred Thompson is going to explain himself, I will have to assume he is another Jon Kyl. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice ain't happening.
