Top federal regulators have learned that Maxine Waters, a California congresswoman, helped set up a meeting with bankers last year while she had family financial ties to the bank. She requested the meeting on behalf of executives at OneUnited, one of the nation’s largest black-owned banks.
Her husband, Sidney Williams, served on the bank’s board until early last year and has owned at least $250,000 of its stock.
Walters is a prime example of the political slime that needs to be removed. Either not comprehending or not caring about conflict of interest, Waters claims to have done nothing wrong.
The race card is already in play, with claims that criticism of OneUnited by the federal banking regulators is racially motivated.
