Talking To Terrorists

Why we are bothering to talk to Iran is puzzling. At Friday's prayer session Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami gave one of his usual lunatic rants while fanatics screamed "Death to America!"

Yet, we're going to send an envoy to talks between international and Iranian negotiators over Iran's nuclear program and rumors continue that the U.S. may be interested in setting up a diplomatic outpost in Iran.

We have never paid these barbarians back for invading our embassy and taking our citizens hostage. Had we dealt with this act of war severely instead of allowing Jimmy Carter to display his cowardice and indecisiveness, things would not be as bad off as they are now. In fact, by this time Iran would probably be habitable again. As always, acting with restraint merely gets us in greater trouble down the road.
