BEWARE! Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has announced that House Donks will hold a forum on Iraq next week. Here is the beginning of the end. Maj. Gen. John Batiste, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, and Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski will join Democrat lawmakers on Dec. 5 to discuss a way "forward" in Iraq. "The war in Iraq is one of the most critical issues confronting our nation, and the American people have clearly called for a New Direction in Iraq," Pelosi said. "We know that 'stay the course' is not working, has not made our country safer, has not honored the commitment to our troops, and has not brought stability to the region. I look forward to hearing from our distinguished group of experts as House Democrats discuss the deteriorating situation in Iraq."
The Donks "New Misdirection" is what Pelosi is talking about. How does she know our country is not safer; How does one empirically test that? What commitment to our troops has not been honored? And I find it hard to believe that anyone is naive enough to believe stability in that part of the world is achievable that quickly.
If another terrorist attack happens, during the Donk control of Congress, count on them to disavow any responsibility and still try to blame it on Bush. But, come January, Nancy and her boys have ownership and we shall see what this "distinguished group of experts" do to improve national security.
