We Don't Say Criminals, We Say Errants

Here's a good one from the Rocky Mountain News.

In a lawsuit, the ACLU claimed that Colorado state law denying paroled prisoners the right to vote was unconstitutional, and argued that the Colorado Constitution provided that convicted criminals only lose their right to vote while they are incarcerated, but not after they are released on parole. A Denver district judge dismissed the lawsuit.

State law says that no one who is serving a sentence should be allowed to vote and parole is part of the sentence.

However, the best part is not the usual shenanigans of the ACLU shysters taking up the banner of felons, pedophiles and pornographers, it is another group involved in the case. "We’re very disappointed," said Dianne Tramutola-Lawson, chairwoman of Colorado CURE.

Any idea what CURE stands for? It's an acronym for Citizens United for Rehabilitation for Errants. Errants!??? Here's another leftwing euphemism meant to turn convicted criminals magically into people who have merely strayed out of bounds and simply deviate from the standard. What a crock of horse manure.

Let's see what happens when the ACLU appeals.

Renaming The Senate

From NewsMax comes an article on the "Lou Dobbs Tonight" appearance of Representative Peter King, Republican from NY. He is the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and he told Dobbs, that he couldn’t imagine how the Senate bill "could ever be considered in the House of Representatives [when] the overwhelming majority of Republicans are against it.” This, he said "is amnesty. The more the senators deny it, Democrat and Republican, the more they deny it, the more the president denies it, it's amnesty. And the American people don't want it. I've never seen a disconnect between the will of the people and the actions of elected officials as we've seen in the Senate.

But, my favorite part was when he commented on Dobbs' remark that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., had described the Senate bill as the will of the Senate, King snapped: "The will of the Senate was not the will of the people."

Well said, Mr. King, perhaps the Senate should consider renaming itself The House of Lords. They act like some pompous aristocracy so maybe we should name them accordingly.

Read the rest of the NewsMax piece, it's good to hear someone in Washington that understands that this is still a government of the people.

Kerry's "New" Evidence

The New York Times has an article that says, John Kerry is claiming new evidence about his, "you know, I was in Viet Nam," service. His new evidence seems to be mostly of his own making (journals and movies) and is reminiscent of Nixon's "I can't let you have the actual tapes but I've transcribed everything that's important on them for you" ploy.

Why does John Kerry persist in allowing only certain individuals access to his materials instead of flinging open all the documents to public scrutiny and questioning?

Bought And Paid For Harry Reid

By way of BREITBART comes the story of Harry Reid accepting free ringside tickets from the Nevada Athletic Commission to three professional boxing matches while that state agency was trying to influence him on federal regulation of boxing.

Reid, D-Nev., took the free seats for Las Vegas fights between 2003 and 2005 as he was pressing legislation to increase government oversight of the sport, including the creation of a federal boxing commission that Nevada's agency feared might usurp its authority.

In defending the indefensible, Harry said his position would not have been influenced and this was a fact finding misssion.

Yet, the Senate ethics manual states, "Senators and Senate staff should be wary of accepting any gift where it appears that the gift is motivated by a desire to reward, influence, or elicit favorable official action."

"I'm not Goodie two shoes. I just feel these events are nothing I did wrong," Reid said.

The problem, Harry, is you need to be a "Goodie two shoes." It is this total lack of integrity and inability to see why, when you're in public office, you need to take the higher road that shows how little character our politicians have. You must not give the appearance of unethical conduct thereby saving yourself from even the perception of prejudice and unfairness.

The article goes on to name senators John McCain and John Ensign as conducting themselves so much better than Harry. McCain paid for his tickets and Ensign had recused himself for another conflict of interest.

When you stand next to Harry the Whore it's easy to look pure.

Uribe Returned To Office

At last, some good news out of Latin America. Alvaro Uribe has won a second term as president of Colombia. A strong ally of the US, especially in the war on drugs, he will continue his battle against drug traffickers, right-wing militias and leftist guerillas.

Thank goodness we will not have to add a fourth Marxist brother to Evo, Hugo and Castro.

Expect more assassination attempts against Uribe, Colombia is a dangerous environment for a man who forced the FARC back into the jungles.

Also, to his credit, he grew the economy
by 5 per cent last year, helping to cut unemployment by a third.

TWO NEW MEMBERS OF THE MOONBAT LODGE IN NEW YORK GIVE THE THREE RING SIGN FOR A BALLANTINE

If we only had Castro in this picture we could have a three ring circus.

Durbin The All UnAmerican Senator

Slipped into the Banana Amnesty Bill by a spokesman for Mexico, Chris Dodd, is the following provision.

"CONSULTATION REQUIREMENT -- Consultations between United States and Mexican authorities at the federal, state, and local levels concerning the construction of additional fencing and related border security structures along the United States-Mexico border shall be undertaken prior to commencing any new construction, in order to solicit the views of affected communities, lessen tensions and foster greater understanding and stronger cooperation on this and other important issues of mutual concern."

Now, here's what Dick "The Turban" Durbin told Fox News today. "To think that we would build a fence without any conversation or consultation with Mexico - that doesn't make sense.
"

"We ultimately want to have the cooperation of the Mexican government,"he added.

How long is America going to tolerate these simpering, leftwing losers?

I live within five miles of the border. The Mexicans set fire to their garbage dumps when they start to overflow and that pollution often blows in our direction. I can't recall one time they have consulted with us about how we feel about inhaling their toxic waste.

This is insanity, people. We need to take back our government and send these idiots like Dodd and Durbin to the unemployment line. Where is a rope, a horse and a tree when you need them?

Tip of the stetson to NewsMax.

Why We Need The Border Secured Now

Thanks to Blonde Sagacity and Is This Life for this scary bit of information.

The more we learn, the more obvious it is that the government has failed to protect us. We must demand that the House not accept this amnesty travesty thrown together by the Senate. Our borders , first and only, must be made secure.

On Line Nominations For 2008?

Check out this site called Unity08. It has as one of its three main goals " for the people themselves to pick that Unity Ticket in early 2008 – via a virtual and secure online convention in which all American voters will be qualified to vote."

Here's a blurb from the web page:

Unity08 is committed to presenting a third presidential ticket and platform – one that addresses the issues and challenges of the 21st Century – to the American voters in 2008.

There's an article in Newsweek that gives more details. If nothing else, the concept is interesting.

Wear Long Pants Or I'll Kill You

From NewsMax comes a report of rising fears in the Iraqi capital that extremists seeking to force Baghdad residents to follow strict Islamic practices were now targeting men in shorts, liquor stores and even barbers. Gunmen in recent months have even killed people drinking beer along the banks of the Tigris river.

Last week, gunmen in Baghdad stopped a car carrying a Sunni Arab tennis coach and two of his Shiite players, asked them to step out and then shot them. How insane is that?

Extremists have been distributing leaflets warning people in the mostly Sunni neighborhoods of Saidiyah and Ghazaliyah not to wear shorts, police said.

We must eliminate these lunatics! After the shorts, what next, culottes and capris pants? There is no way to negotiate with or bring into the fold someone who would murder another human being for wearing shorts, drinking a beer or getting a shave. Political correctness be damned, there's no way we can coexist with these psychotics.

Memorial Day

The History of Memorial Day

It was 1866 and the United States was recovering from the long and bloody Civil War between the North and the South. Surviving soldiers came home, some with missing limbs, and all with stories to tell. Henry Welles, a drugstore owner in Waterloo, New York, heard the stories and had an idea. He suggested that all the shops in town close for one day to honor the soldiers who were killed in the Civil War and were buried in the Waterloo cemetery. On the morning of May 5, the townspeople placed flowers, wreaths and crosses on the graves of the Northern soldiers in the cemetery. At about the same time, Retired Major General Jonathan A. Logan planned another ceremony, this time for the soldiers who survived the war. He led the veterans through town to the cemetery to decorate their comrades' graves with flags.
It was not a happy celebration, but a memorial. The townspeople called it Decoration Day.

In Retired Major General Logan's proclamation of Memorial Day, he declared:

"The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country and during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit."

The two ceremonies were joined in 1868, and northern states commemorated the day on May 30. The southern states commemorated their war dead on different days. Children read poems and sang civil war songs and veterans came to school wearing their medals and uniforms to tell students about the Civil War. Then the veterans marched through their home towns followed by the townspeople to the cemetery. They decorated graves and took photographs of soldiers next to American flags. Rifles were shot in the air as a salute to the northern soldiers who had given their lives to keep the United States together.

In 1882, the name was changed to Memorial Day and soldiers who had died in previous wars were honored as well. In the northern United States, it was designated a public holiday. In 1971, along with other holidays, President Richard Nixon declared Memorial Day a federal holiday on the last Monday in May.

Mexico Needs To Stand Down

According to an article in Insight, law enforcement officials are worried about armed clashes along the U.S. border with Mexico.

Because of this, Federal authorities are planning to notify Mexico about our troop movements. However, the corruption in the Mexican military is bad enough that there is reason to fear this information may then be relayed to drug dealers and smugglers.

Also, the National Guard has been ordered not to confront illegal immigrants. Why?

"We're not going to engage in arrest, search and seizure," Assistant Defense Secretary Paul McHale said on May 16. "We're not going to be involved in the direct apprehension of those who try to cross the border illegally."

There you have it. We are so fearful of our good neighbor to the south that we are too timid to independently move our troops within our own borders or even confront those who do not belong here.

We will even ask permission to build a wall on American soil, as if afraid of what the reaction might be in Mexico. Instead, we should be telling them. "the wall is going up, the troops are coming in and if there is a confrontation, it would be in the best interest of your military to stand down."

Tony Snowjob, Bush's Baghdad Bob

TONY SNOWJOB WANTS YOU TO BELIEVE IN AMNESTY

Here's a good one from the Examiner:

The White House on Friday said a Senate bill that would grant legal status to illegal immigrants is analogous to a traffic law that allows a speeder to pay a fine and continue driving. "If you had a traffic ticket and you paid it, you're not forever a speeder, are you?" White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said in response to questions from The Examiner.

"So the fact is, you have paid your debt to society," he added. "And we have come up with a way to make sure that the debt to society gets paid. Then you move forward."

The "traffic ticket" analogy raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill, where many House Republicans regard illegal immigration as a grave crime.

"I don't know if Tony meant to trivialize it or not," said Will Adams, spokesman for Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. "But it's certainly misleading."

"The penalty for a speeding ticket is a fine," he added. "The penalty for being here illegally is being removed from this country. But the president doesn't want illegal aliens to go home."

Snow emphasized that illegals would have to pay fines, learn English and wait years for a chance at full citizenship. But Adams called that "a slap on the hand" compared to deportation.

"Here's a more apt analogy," he said. "You get stopped for speeding, and you say to the cop: "Hey listen, you're about to give me a $300 ticket. How about we make it 20 bucks and just call it even?"

Snow predicted that House Republicans would eventually drop their opposition to the Senate bill, which passed Thursday. The bill, which includes a guest worker program that would grant legal status to aliens, is headed to a conference committee for possible reconciliation with a House bill aimed at beefing up border security.

Snow suggested the guest worker program could be sold to even ardent opponents like Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisconsin, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

"Chairman Sensenbrenner, who's got some real problems with various aspects, has said publicly that the temporary worker program has merit," Snow said.

"There are areas in which members of the House are going to agree with the president," he added. "I certainly don't want to be speaking for Chairman Sensenbrenner, but the fact is, you know politics."

But Sensenbrenner appeared unmoved.

"What's going on now, in calling it a pathway to citizenship or earned legalization, is not honest because it is amnesty," he said at a news conference.

Isn't it amazing that Tony Snow would offer a half-baked analogy like the speeding ticket, when before he became the Bush propaganda minister he would have laughed at such a pathetic comparison.

For Tony's further embarassment let's run this analogy all the way through. A legal immigrant is stopped for speeding, he pays his fine and goes about his business. An illegal invader is stopped for speeding, he has no license, he has no insurance, he has a stolen social security number and he will probably never show up to pay his fines, if he even gets a ticket. Tony Snowjob, there is no comparison between a legal, licensed driver and an illegal who has broken several laws. To imply they are the same is unworthy of you and insulting to your audience.

Soon, we will see Snow wearing a beret and standing at the border saying, "Illegals, there are no illegals, we have driven them all away. They are not even within a hundred miles of America."

Yes, Tony, you sound as foolish as Baghdad Bob.

It's Not Too Much To Ask

From The Detroit News comes the story of Councilwoman Barbara Ziarko, who recently asked the city's legal staff to prepare an ordinance requiring the translations on exterior signs. There's a lot to this story once you find out who's involved.

"This is for the safety of our residents as well as our police and fire (personnel)," Ziarko said. "If emergency crews can properly identify a location, they can know if there are chemicals or dangerous substances (on the premises)."

This is certainly reasonable and in fact it contributes to neighborhood safety and the protection of police and fire personnel.

Paul Zalewski, the city's fire marshal, said identification problems began cropping up over the last two to three months when one of his inspectors began alerting him to difficulties locating certain businesses.

"He told me, 'If I'm having this problem, the engine companies are probably going to have this problem too,' " Zalewski said. He estimated no more than 50 businesses would be affected. .

Emergency officials said people calling in fires or other emergencies often don't have addresses handy, and use landmarks or names to direct emergency crews.

Makes sense doesn't it?

But, Noooooooo! Guess who jumps to the forefront of not serving the best interests of the whole community?

"I can't swallow any effort that moves in the direction of forcing a person or entity to utilize English," said Imad Hamad, regional director for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. Read about Imad and his love affair with Hezbollah.

How long will it be before he's joined by the jackals of the ACLU? After all, they honored Imad at a Fund of Michigan Annual Dinner where the keynote speaker was none other than Howie "the scream" Dean. A humorous note here, Dean's speech indicated that Democrats lost the 2004 election because they simply could not articulate what they believed in. Ya think???

And finally the voice of reason from a local shop owner who is already complying.

Jamal Shaow's Babylon Fruit Market in Sterling Heights already has two signs, one above the door and another atop a sign by the roadway. And each features the store name twice, once in Arabic and again in English.

For his part, Shaow said he has no problem if Sterling Heights opts to require English-language identifiers such as "Grocery" or "Bakery" beneath a store name that appears in Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or another language.

"Personally, I don't have anything against that idea," he said. "I think we should have them. We live in the United States, so having a sign in English isn't too much to ask."

No, Mr. Shaow, it's not.

Keeping NYC Vulnerable

WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST, DONNA LIEBERMAN

The New York Post reports that the FBI and the Justice Department have begun new probes in New York and other cities targeting members of Hezbollah. There is fear they may be planning to activate sleeper cells and stage an attack.

About a dozen hard-core supporters of Hezbollah have been identified in recent weeks as operating in the New York area.

Additional law-enforcement attention is being centered on the Iranian Mission to the United Nations, where there have already been three episodes in the last four years in which diplomats and security guards have been expelled for casing and photographing New York City subways and other potential targets.

Meanwhile, the NYCLU is doing everything it can to stymie anti-terrorist steps by the NYPD. From challenging random bag searches on the New York City subway system to bemoaning CCTV installation at possible targets in public places, the NYCLU has been at the forefront of making the terrorist job an easy one.

Their executive director, Donna Lieberman, has been working feverishly, along with associate legal director Christopher Dunn, to make sure that no terrorist liberty is left unprotected. If New York is attacked again, these two have a lot to answer for.

When We Want Your Opinion, We Will Give It To You

The New York Times is reporting that the ACLU is considering "new standards" that would discourage its board members from publicly criticizing the organization's policies and internal administration.

"Where an individual director disagrees with a board position on matters of civil liberties policy, the director should refrain from publicly highlighting the fact of such disagreement," the committee that compiled the standards wrote in its proposals.

"Directors should remember that there is always a material prospect that public airing of the disagreement will affect the A.C.L.U. adversely in terms of public support and fund-raising," the proposals state.

The ACLU seems to think that free speech is not a requisite for their organization. Considering that they are the defenders of the most outrageous statements and are the supposed champions of the first amendment, isn't this just a wee bit hypocritical?

"For the national board to consider promulgating a gag order on its members — I can't think of anything more contrary to the reason the A.C.L.U. exists," said Nat Hentoff, a former A.C.L.U. board member.

Yet, Anthony Romero, the executive director, said it was not unusual for the A.C.L.U. to grapple with conflicting issues involving civil liberties. "Take hate speech," he said. "While believing in free speech, we do not believe in or condone speech that attacks minorities."

Actually, the issues are not "conflicting," they are contradictory. After always raising the spectre of Big Brother to defend some of its most vile causes, the ACLU has now become what they claim to despise. They have anointed themselves the Overlords of Political Correctness and they would tell us what speech is worth defending, who will have a voice and who will not.

There are some people in the ACLU who truly do believe in free speech for all, even those with whom they may disagree. Anthony Romero is not one of them, he has a different agenda and it is far more threatening to our freedoms than any Big Brother Boogeyman.

It seems he would like to purge the ACLU of those who do not agree with him. Read the whole article which details the acrimony inside the ACLU and see a sample of how tolerant Romero is of criticism and dissent.

Ransoms Paid To Terrorists

Back in January I posted a report that the German government, despite denials was paying ransom money to terrorists. Well, according to the Timesonline, not only did they pay, but it seems everyone else couldn't wait to fill the bloodstained coffers of these pigs. France in its perpetual capitulation mode led the paying of tribute with $25 million.

No wonder the terrorists think they can win when everyone but the British folds like a cheap suit. What's really sad is not only did France, Germany and Italy pay out this money, but they haven't even the courage to admit what they did.

Kerry Wants To Sing Kumbaya With The Enemy, Again

Photograph of John Kerry meeting with Comrade Do Muoi, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in Vietnam, July 15-18, 1993. This photo is part of a tribute to John Kerry in the War Remnants Museum (formerly the "War Crimes Museum") in Saigon.

AP says that John Kerry is calling for an international summit to stabilize Iraq and end the insurgency. He
says the summit should include representatives of warring factions in Iraq, as well as Europeans, Iranians, Syrians and others from that neighborhood.

This guy is totally removed from reality. I wonder who the others are, Hamas, Hezbollah? Well, I suppose after you've broken bread with murderous Communist thugs and villified your fellow soldiers there isn't really a new depth where you can fall.

By the way,
Johnnie, it's way past time to release your FULL military records. Maybe we need an international summit to clear that up.

Dean Backs Loser, Again

According to the Drudge Report, The Democratic National Committee secretly placed political operatives in the city of New Orleans to work against the reelection of incumbent Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin.

DNC Chairman Howie, "The Scream", Dean made the decision to back candidate and sitting Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu (D-LA), despite concerns amongst senior black officials in the Party that the DNC should stay neutral.

Howie just doesn't seem to be able to stay out of trouble these days. It couldn't happen to a more deserving fellow.

Another Disaster For New Orleans

Well, the idiots in New Orleans have done it to themselves again, "No Brains Nagin" is back in office. "It's time for this city to start the healing process," he said. How will that happen when Nagin himself is preoccupied with race?
No one mentions race more than he does, not even Jackson and Sharpton.

Just the other day he said,
"This election will say in spite of American prejudice, I was able to attract votes from all races and classes and move forward with the process of healing."

In other words, I know you're a bunch of bigots out there and I may not get elected because of the evil white people, but if somehow I do win, I want you all to help me put this city back together because I haven't a clue what I'm doing.

Does this guy ever weigh his words before he opens his mouth?

If nothing else having him in office should, once again, provide memorable quotes. Let's take a quick stroll down memory lane and relive some of his more recent gems.

"Definitely class, and the more I think about it, definitely race played into this. If it's race, fine, let's call a spade a spade, a diamond a diamond. We can never let this happen again. Even if you hate black people and you are in a leadership position, this did not help anybody."

("A diamond, a diamond"? Does he think the expression "calling a spade, a spade is about playing cards or maybe he thinks that's a racist expression also.)

That quote was read back to Nagin by Tim Russert on Meet the Press. Tim followed up with this question.

Who in the leadership position hates black people?

Nagin responds: Well, you know, I don't know who hates black people, but I will just tell you this, that I think the imagery that came out across the nation portrayed that this was primarily poor black people that were affected. And I don't know if that affected the response or not.

Same interview:
Russert: Why did you not declare, order, a mandatory evacuation on Friday, when the president declared an emergency, and have utilized those buses to get people out?

Nagin: You know, Tim, that's one of the things that will be debated.
Debated? What is there to debate? Nagin highlights his lack of knowledge, planning and administrative skills almost painfully.

The interview is filled with "I don't knows" and the recurring mention of his "plan" which involved waiting for the cavalry.

Here's another quote from the man who would heal New Orleans: "It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild New Orleans -- the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans. This city will be a majority-African American city. It's the way God wants it to be. You can't have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn't be New Orleans."

And this, "Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country. Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves." (The Washington Post)

Finally, let us not forget Ray Nagin is a fan of
Nation of Islam chief Louis Farrakhan. The Bayou Buzz blasted Nagin for meeting with Farrakhan:
" After Katrina hit New Orleans, Nagin retreated to Dallas and met with Farrakhan. Soon thereafter, the Nation of Islam leader spoke of the supposed “craters” beneath the levees in New Orleans and claimed that they were “blown up” to save white people and flood black neighborhoods. This ridiculous theory was an insult to the thousands of white families flooded by Katrina in Lakeview and other parts of New Orleans and was not supported by one scintilla of evidence. It also did not jive with statistics released by the state morgue in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. While the population of New Orleans pre-Katrina was 68% African-American, only 48% of the storm’s fatalities were African-American. To make matters worse, Farrakhan claimed that Mayor Nagin was the source of his dubious information and wild speculation. Incredibly, Nagin did not distance himself from Farrakhan or criticize the Minister for his outlandish remarks. Nagin also did not repudiate Farrakhan’s comments made during the Minister’s most recent visit to the city on Saturday. Farrakhan declared that the city was beset by white supremacy, a ridiculous assertion considering that New Orleans has been led by an African-American Mayors for almost 30 years."
Earlier in that year Nagin's handpicked Police Chief Eddie Compass hired a Nation of Islam official to conduct sensitivity training for his police officers. I'm sure the Catholics and Jews were "sensitive" to that.

Well, New Orleans, one can only hope for the best in spite of Nagin's prejudice and racism which you have chosen to sanction. If, as Nagin likes to say, God is mad, it may be just because of that.

The Lout That Roared

Howie "The Scream" Dean thinks General Michael Hayden is unfit to run the CIA. The first thing that comes to mind is consider the source. If there was ever a person unfit, in fact unhinged would be a better description, it is little Howie Dean. In fact Dean is not only unfit, he's given to fits. "When the Senators meet to decide on Hayden's confirmation, they must hear the voices of their constituents," he urges in the email. "We want to deliver the voices of 100,000 Americans who oppose this nomination." Is that all you can muster, Howie, a mere 100K? Obviously, there are at least that many nuts like yourself on the loose since we closed the institutions. Why don't you do the country a favor and overmedicate? Hat tip to NewsMax.

McCain: With Amnesty You Get Social Security

By way of The Washington Times comes this latest piece of McCain treachery.

The Senate voted yesterday to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment even if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.
"There was a felony they were committing, and now they can't be prosecuted. That sounds like amnesty to me," said Sen. John Ensign, the Nevada Republican who offered the amendment yesterday to strip out those provisions of the immigration reform bill. "It just boggles the mind how people could be against this amendment." The Ensign amendment was defeated on a 50-49 vote. What follows is the twisted logic of why John McCain would drive us deeper into debt, so he can make sure that after the amnesty these lawbreakers can get social security dollars to send back to Mexico, the only country they truly care about.

"We all know that millions of undocumented immigrants pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for years and sometimes decades while they work to contribute to our economy," said John McCain, Arizona Republican.
"The Ensign amendment would undermine the work of these people by preventing lawfully present immigrant workers from claiming Social Security benefits that they earned before they were authorized to work in our community," he said. "If this amendment were enacted, the nest egg that these immigrants have worked hard for would be taken from them and their families."

I love the way he weaves the word "lawfully" into his statement. Since these illegals were unlawfully working in the first place, they have no entitlements for that time. How can you earn benefits if you're not authorized to work? They were not covered, they knew they were not covered and they were certainly not thinking this was a nest egg. Thay have no social security accounts because they have no social security numbers. John McCain, like the liberals he loves, is willing to give the farm to those who have been stealing the cows. McCain you are a liar and a charlatan, your own words betray you.

It's Not A Banana, It Doesn't Have Appeal

In a sad attempt at oratory, compounded by years of creeping ambivalence, John McCain babbled in a fit of incoherence regarding the proposed amnesty for illegals in the Senate. "Call it a banana if you want to . . . to call the process that we require under this legislation amnesty frankly distorts the debate and it's an unfair interpretation of it."

Poor John is not only showing his age, but what socializing with people like the Clintons will eventually do to your brain. Why didn't he just use Bill's line, It depends on what your definition of (fill in the blank) is.

Once again, John, you can put lipstick on a pig but that doesn't make it more attractive...unless you're Bill Clinton.

When Neighbors Attack

Please pay a visit to the Birdblog and read this well written piece "The Second Mexican War." Here's a short quote:

"It took us over 20 years to realize that Islamic Fundamentalism was at war with us; we ignored attack after attack. Mexico has been conducting a similar campaign of aggression at least as long, and we are still pretending they are our friends. Both have the potential of destroying our country-one with bullets the other with babies. Isn`t it about time we woke up to that fact?"

Zorro And The Keystone Kongress

KEYSTONE KONGRESS RECEIVING INSTRUCTIONS FROM MEXICO CITY

The Senate found something that they could
unanimously vote on, although I'm not sure they all agree with it. It's an amendment that says legal or illegal immigrants who are convicted of a felony or three misdemeanors unrelated to their residency status will be deported immediately. If these guys could vote in private I'm sure a few of our favorite moonbats would have voted differently. Anyway, here's the part I found interesting. They expect this will keep 500,000 from gaining citizenship. I think we all know that the vast bulk of these criminals are among us at this very moment. If you watch this session closely, you can see these useless bureaucrats admitting how badly they have failed at what they pretend to do. It is as if we were represented by the Keystone Kops, only it's not funny and it's way more absurd.

Wrong Answer, Again

It couldn't be more timely or appropriate to the moment we're at in history, so today I simply have copied and post for you Kender's rant at the ACLU.

by kender on 05-18-06 @ 4:24 am Filed under ACLU

Kender here, and I have wrested control of the blogburst from the hardy band of patriots that get it out every week because I am furious and THIS is a rant.

Our erstwhile and dearly beloved President Bush, having found one of his testicles behind the couch, FINALLY gets around to attempting to begin to consider taking the correct course of action by deploying 6000 National Guard Troops to aid ICE in securing our Southern Border in Name Only (SBNO) and the ACLU races with all haste to try to undermine the deployment by whining incessantly and lying to the American people.

“Oh-ho” you say, along with “Kender? How can you say that the ACLU is LYING to the goodly citizens of the United States?”

Here’s how, and as usual, it is attributable to The Queen of the ACLU, The Beauty of the Bill of Rights, the Nancy of the Nine Amendments (ask him, there is no Second Amendment) Anthony Romero:

“Turning immigration enforcement policy into another military operation is not the answer. The president’s proposed deployment of National Guard troops violates the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the military from getting into the business of civilian law enforcement.

(emphasis mine)
source
Did you catch that?

I made it real big so you would catch it, but how many of you actually caught it?

Actually the question should be how many of you even know about it?

SEC. 15. From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress; and no money appropriated by this act shall be used to pay any of the expenses incurred in the employment of any troops in violation of this section And any person willfully violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding two years or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Let me repeat that.

except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress;

Got that? Never mind the fact that the since the Posse Comitatus Act is an AMERICAN LAW it should logically only apply to AMERICAN CITIZENS!!!!! But applying our laws to criminal aliens is a fight that the ACLU has won….for the moment.

But we all know that where the ACLU is concerned logic has nothing to do with it.

I propose the radical concept that it is SPECIFICALLY the job of the federal government to secure the border, and if we need National Guard Troops to accomplish that goal then that is what needs to get done. If these millions of criminal aliens were coming across with guns and in uniform would the ACLU demand that Bush not send the military to stop the invasion?

I bet they would.

In WW2 the current ACLU would have been suing the government for placing anti-aircraft guns on the coast (many of those were placed on private property with the owners blessings) and demanding that blackout rules be abolished because forcing one to turn out the lights during a possible air raid would put them in danger of tripping on something in the dark, thereby depriving them of their right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Of course, the ALCU is more than happy to let someone pursue their personal happiness in the dark, often times even when it involves children, but that is a rant for another day.

The fact of the matter is that the government has failed us by refusing to secure the border, and we have been invaded. The ACLU is doing everything in their power to stop the government from doing ITS’ JOB and in the process making us all a little less safe with each and every day that goes by.

Steve White, Idiot And Proud Of It

Steve "I am the A Hole" White

Parents complained he showed students a video that repeatedly refers to President Bush, members of his staff and conservative personalities as "a--holes." Now he's been fired by his school board after an investigation found porn on his computer. According to WorldNetDaily,The Athens News Courier, which obtained a list of the findings by administrators, said the investigation found teacher Steve White showed videos with sex acts, nudity and other obscene images to students.White was showing videos rather than teaching science.

Yes, Steve, you've certainly proven how much more clever you are then those wacky Washingtonians. Well, at least you'll have plenty of free time to see if you can find your spot on the food chain. Start with the amoeba and work down, moron.

Note: The next step would be to get rid of the one board member who voted against firing this dimwit. And this should come as no shock, he's also a candidate for the Alabama House representing the party of "Donks have morals too." No, really!

The House Of Last Hope

There is still a chance that America may survive the betrayal by her sworn protectors. Some voices of reason can still be heard in Congress. Speaking of the Senate conspiracy to grant amnesty to illegals while giving only their usual lip service to national security, some in the House are not inclined to Mexican hat dance with Bush.

"It offers a perverse incentive -- the longer and more flagrantly you have broken immigration laws, the easier it will be to get on the so-called path to citizenship," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, an Arizona Republican, told CNN. "I don't believe the American people will appreciate that.

At least I'm not the only one to notice this and you're right Congressman, not only don't I appreciate it I'm furious about it.

Still, you have the agents of foreign governments like New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, an Hispanic border-state Democrat, saying that Bush's legalization proposal will help bring illegal immigrants "out of the shadows." The goal should be to bring them out of the country. However, since your allegiance , Bill, is to Old Mexico, rather than New Mexico, this is not a concept I would expect you to comprehend. How's that fantasy baseball career coming , Bill?

Keep hammering away at your representatives, that's the only hope. The Senate has been lost to the traitors and cowards and needs a strong enema come election day.

America Is Having A Going Out of Business Sale

Here's how the auctioning off of America is going for those of you who are interested.

The Senate defeated, 55 to 40, a proposal by Senator Johnny Isakson, Republican of Georgia, that lawmakers demand that border-security measures be in place before beginning a guest-worker program of the kind envisioned by President Bush. I have added the roll call vote so you can see who was casting lots for the garments of Justice.

Voting "yes" were 7 patriotic Democrats and 33 Republicans.

Voting "no" were 55 jackals, 36 Democrats, 18 Republicans and one independent.

Not voting, 5 who had things to occupy them, more important than their nation's security.

Michelle Malkin: The Senate Rejects Enforcement 1st

The Peso Stops Here?

I had to wait until this morning to write about the "illegals" marketing pitch from last night. I didn't think my blood pressure could stand rehashing it that quickly.

The reformation of America's immigration system was never the issue, the issue was, is and continues to be the securing of our sovereign nation's borders and the enforcement of our laws all of which falls to the executive branch of our government. To clarify a point that seems a mystery to you, Mr. President, that is part of your job.

The issue of immigration does not stir intense emotion, what stirs emotion is the invasion of our nation by illegals, not immigrants. What stirs emotion is your ignoring this problem for the greater part of two terms and now preaching to us that it needs a "special" kind of solution because of your failure to address the problem in a timely manner. We are well aware that previous presidents are guilty as well, but one has to believe that after 9/11 there would have been a sense of urgency on your part to secure our nation. Nowhere have I seen an explanation for your complete lack of attention to a most obvious flaw in our security.

To say that we must "begin by recognizing the problems with our immigration system" is most disingenuous. Once again, who is responsible for that system? It would be you, Mr. President. And trying to share the blame that should fall to you, directly, with all of the American people is truly an act of cowardice.

If you knew that for "decades, the United States has not been in complete control of its borders", why did you wait another half of a decade to address this vital issue? You knew, Mr. President because even in this speech you stated, " I was the governor of a state that has a 1,200-mile border with Mexico. So I know how difficult it is to enforce the border, and how important it is." So, the truth is you knew this was a problem when you took office, you knew, certainly after 9/11, it was a critical issue, and you did nothing.

I am sick of you trying to portray people who have broken our nation's laws as living "in the shadows of our society". That is what happens when you break the law, you have to avoid the limelight. What part of that do you fail to understand? These people are not victims, so stop trying to portray them as such. If they have been victimized at all it is by their own country and your amigo El Zorro. The fact that they are, as you say, "beyond the reach and protection of American law" is because the law has not been enforced. Once again, who has failed to do that job? Can you say, the president? I knew you could!

The very next part of your speech says, "
We are a nation of laws, and we must enforce our laws." Don't make me ask again whose job that is and who has not been doing that job!

The second statement is totally untrue and is only worthy of a leftwing moonbat who loves slogans over fact. We are not a nation of immigrants. If you were an immigrant you could not hold the job you have, that is the law . After you master the pronunciation of the word nuclear, perhaps you should tackle the definition of the word immigrant. That would be a person who comes to a country to take up permanent residence. We are no longer a nation of immigrants. My parents were born here, I was born here and my children were born here. Regardless, of any politically correct bovine manure you wish to spread, we are native born Americans and so are the majority of the American people.

"America can be a lawful society and a welcoming society at the same time." We are already a welcoming society, we just need someone to do your job that understands law enforcement. Do not try to make America look bad to cover your own ineptitude.

"
We will fix the problems created by illegal immigration"; illegals are the problem, anything else is a symptom.

"The border should be open to trade and lawful immigration and shut to illegal immigrants, as well as criminals, drug dealers and terrorists." Gee. Mr. President, what a grasp of the obvious. When exactly did you have this epiphany? Was it when you dropped below 30% in the polls?

I am not even going to address the paragraphs of meaningless fluff about the National Guard and the Border Patrol because this will have little to no impact on stemming the invasion.

Let's cut to the chase. " The United States is not going to militarize the southern border. Mexico is our neighbor, and our friend." I don't know about your friends, Mr. President but I sincerely doubt that they sneak into your house and use your stuff without permission and when caught, demand they be allowed to stay and be treated as family.

"More than 85 percent of the illegal immigrants we catch crossing the southern border are Mexicans, and most are sent back home within 24 hours." Equally true is that within 24 hours they are trying to sneak back in. We need to charge Mexico for the cost of this since they refuse to help prevent it and are mostly to blame for it.

"We have expanded the number of beds in our detention facilities, and we will continue to add more. We have expedited the legal process to cut the average deportation time. And we are making it clear to foreign governments that they must accept back their citizens who violate our immigration laws. As a result of these actions, we have ended "catch and release" for illegal immigrants from some countries. And I will ask Congress for additional funding and legal authority, so we can end "catch and release" at the southern border once and for all. When people know that they will be caught and sent home if they enter our country illegally, they will be less likely to try to sneak in."

Let us not discuss your line, "This practice, called "catch and release," is unacceptable and we will end it."
Who ultimately is responsible for this fiasco? Who should have fixed this problem years ago? Thank you.

And now, the temporary worker program that is behind all of this. When you have shown you can do your job of securing and protecting our borders then, and only then, should you be allowed to move to another level.

"America needs to conduct this debate on immigration in a reasoned and respectful tone." What you're really saying, Mr.President, is don't yell at me for not doing my job. Well, perhaps if you took responsibility for failing the nation instead of trying to spread the blame around it might be easier to believe and trust you. However, since you fail to realize that the enemy in this case is you and many of your fellow politicians on both sides, wisdom decrees that we treat you and your "plan" with suspicion.

Say goodnight, George!

Chelsea Scolds Hillary

I found this article at CNN amusing.

After telling an audience that young people today "think work is a four-letter word," Hillary Clinton said she apologized to her daughter.

"I said, 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to convey the impression that you don't work hard,"' Clinton said.

Ok, what possible other message does a statement like that send? This is the typical response from politicians when they are actually called to stand behind what they say.

Hillary said that her daughter, Chelsea, phoned to complain after learning about the comments. I guess Chelsea was not pleased to be caught up in one of her mother's sweeping generalizations.

The Clinton Legacy

Just saw this
post at Mr. Minority. Get over there and read it. Here's an excerpt:
Scots infected with HIV protested Bill Clinton's appearance in Glasgow yesterday, highlighting the former president's connection to a scandal in which tainted blood from high-risk Arkansas prisoners was used to treat thousands of people in Europe who later came down with AIDS and hepatitis.
"I feel your pain." Not bloody likely, although I'm amazed Bubba isn't riddled with STDs.

Birds Of A Feather

John Kerry of Massachusetts reporting for self promotion, once again, signs on with Tom Harkin from Iowa and Barbara Boxer from California to the measure to censure President Bush. Introduced by Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold, that states original Swiss Cheese head, it intends to censure the president for authorizing domestic eavesdropping and alledgedly misleading Americans about its legality.

The Senate should be censuring themselves for all their own shameful
shenanigans but that seems to be a means of self discipline they are quick to avoid. However, these four would make good practice material for openers.

The Truth Shall Set You Free

Cardinal George Pell, the Archbishop of Sydney Australia, is being attacked by Muslims for daring to question whether Islam is indeed a religion of peace and tolerance.

In February, the Cardinal addressed a group of Catholic businessmen in Florida. Now, the Muslim drama queens emerge, crying as in the case of Keysar Trad of the Islamic Friendship Association of Australia that the Cardinal's comments were "ill-informed," and that the speech was "an off-the-cuff dismissal of the teachings of one of the world's great religions."

Read the Cardinal's speech here, it is lengthy but well worth your time. There is nothing offensive about it.

You have to admire the Cardinal's reponse to the Muslim critics. Here it is:

"Isolated suggestions that I am uninformed on Islam are clich├ęs, smokescreens to distract, to divert attention rather than address basic issues which need to be discussed.

Islamic terrorists are not a figment of anyone’s imagination and the history of relations with Islam is full of conflict.

I continue to be completely committed to dialogue with Muslims, to supporting moderate forces on all sides.

I recommend that people read the Quran and my article in Quadrant (also on the Sydney Archdiocese website, www.sydney.catholic.org.au) and judge for themselves.

We need a lot of continuing dialogue, based on truth, history and the current situation."

Finally, a spiritual Christian authority who doesn't fold like a house of cards when confronted by the heretical haranguing of Islamic fanatics.

At least there are some still keeping the faith. The Church in Australia is fortunate to be blessed with such a shepherd.

He also managed to tick off the Green Party because of his comments about the environment. Read that at CNSNews.

Peace Only Unto Those Who Follow The True Path

There's more speculation regarding the letter to Bush and the true intentions of madman Mahmoud from the Jerusalem Newswire.

They quote an article from The New York Sun:

According to the Sun, a coded message is contained in the closing section of the eight-page letter. While the rest of the message had been translated into English, the salutation in had not. It reads "Vasalam Ala Man Ataba'al hoda" and means "Peace only unto those who follow the true path."

"It is a phrase with historical significance in Islam, for, according to Islamic tradition, in year six of the Hejira - the late 620s - the prophet Mohammad sent letters to the Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor telling them to convert to the true faith of Islam or be conquered. The letters included the same phrase that President Ahmadinejad used to conclude his letter to Mr. Bush."

"For Mohammad, the letters were a prelude to a Muslim offensive, a war launched for the purpose of imposing Islamic rule over infidels."

Read the rest of the article at Jerusalem Newswire about the preparations Iran is making for war, as seen firsthand by investigative reporter George Thomas.

We must not underestimate the psychotic president of Persia. We are not going to accept Islam and that is the only deal he is offering.

Pakistan Mentoring Iran?

Via The Chicago Sun-Times, comes word that the Iranians went to a retired Pakistani general for advice on how to prevent an attack on their nuclear facilities.

Retired general, Mirza Aslam Beg, admits he told them, ''make it clear that if anything happens to Iran, if anyone attacks it -- it doesn't matter who it is or how it is attacked -- that Iran's answer will be to hit Israel; the only target will be Israel.''

With allies like this, it's easy to confuse them with your enemies. How long can Pervez Musharraf retain power and stave off the mobs of radicals that populate Pakistan? And if he goes, will Pakistan be another nuclear armed Muslim madhouse?
