Barack Scolds Syria, Again and Again

The continuing saga of scolding other countries about their bad behavior continued Monday when the State Department summoned the senior Syrian diplomat. His country was accused of "provocative behavior" in supplying arms to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

"The United States condemns in the strongest terms the transfer of any arms, and especially ballistic missile systems such as the Scud, from Syria to Hezbollah," the statement said. "The transfer of these arms can only have a destabilizing effect on the region, and would pose an immediate threat to both the security of Israel and the sovereignty of Lebanon." And this after John Kerry already reiterated to them the U.S. concern about the flow of weapons through Syria to Hezbollah. Plus, he told reporters the U.S. view is that this is "something that must stop" for there to be peace. How much more stern could you be?

I'm sure giraffe boy Bashar is quaking, not wanting to suffer the same fate as North Korea and Iran. Oh wait, nothing happened to them and they thumbed their noses at the UN and the US.

Obama the great diplomat, keeping us beloved by the world, continues to wink at its unruly members. How else can we remain so well liked?

Just as a side note, Iran could probably develop and test an ICBM capable of reaching the United States by 2015," says a new 12 page unclassified report prepared by the Department of Defense on the Iran Military Threat.
