Mea Culpa and What it Means

A man whose lawsuit describes him as a habitual drunk is suing the Boynton Beach bar that served him before he was charged with drunken driving.Brian Licitra, 27, claims the Banana Boat Restaurant and Lounge was negligent for serving him when the staff knew he was a drunkard.Licitra injured himself and restaurant employees in a crash last June.

Licitra's lawyer said his client had been fired by the Banana Boat for his drinking problem.

There should be a law against personal irresponsibility and it should carry major penalties. It's people like this that cause us all to pay higher prices because they are too stupid to know you should only climb the ladder on the side with steps. They are the reason I have to see signs warning me that a stop sign is coming.
I believe we should start having commercials showing vehicles on two wheels that say "Attempt this at home" and notes on cans of compressed air that encourage various orifice insertions. For those stupid enough to do it, we're well rid of them. It would probably reduce the liberal looney squad by 50% and keep the rest of us greatly entertained.

So the bar employees in his car that served him and drank with him and left with him sue him and all three get $100,000 a piece from him and he has no legal recourse.wheres the bars responsibilty for there employees?why do they make money off this?shouldnt they take responsibility for themselves?use your head.if he doesnt stand up bartenders everywhere can do this 2 anyone they want and get rich.

I see, the bartender and the rest of his pals forced Licitra to get drunk. This was a conspiracy.
He could have refused to drink, he could have joined a support group but noooo! And I doubt Brian will stand up that seems to be part of his problem.
I never said the other passengers should make money. They were stupid enough to get in a car with a drunk driver, let them suffer the consequences.
Use your own head, society does not need to be a nursemaid to every screwball cretin that refuses to cope with reality.
Take responsibility for what you say and do...oh you wouldn't be able to be anonymous then.

The lawsuit is making the passengers take responsibility. Why should Brian Licitra go to prison for 3 years for injuring people stupid enough to get in the car with him after serving him. Some how that doesnt seem quite right. He could get up to a 7 years in prison for this offense. The point of the lawsuit is to bring attention to the fact that he didnt injure 3 innocent people but in fact the were directly responsible for their own injuries and need to be held accountable for themselves.

Ok Mr Licitra is not a habitual drunkard...he had alittle too much too drink and the employees who knew that he mighthave had a problem stil served him and probably even drank with him so they are the stupid ones and the bar should pay for serving him. They should have been fired for getting in the car with him knowing that he ws drunk they endangered there own lives by choosing to get in the car
