One baby step.
Arizona Republican Sens. Jon Kyl and John McCain are bucking the Bush administration's budget and pushing for more border agents.
The Arizona senators are joining GOP colleagues from Texas, Nevada and California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein in backing a budget amendment that would add 2,000 Border Patrol agents. The bumped-up border agent allocation was approved by the U.S. Senate on Thursday. Bush's budget only allocated funds for 210 new agents.
Finally, some of our elected officials from both parties doing what is best for the nation.
