A strong earthquake has rocked parts of Indonesia, sending hundreds of people fleeing their homes in fear of a new tsunami.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage or that the earthquake, which measured 6.8 on the Richter scale, had actually caused a tsunami.
The US Geological Survey said the quake was located in Indonesia's Kepulauan Mentawai region.
An official with the national meteorological bureau in Jakarta said: "It's part of the chain of previous quakes. It's not an aftershock."
The earthquake was also felt in Singapore.
There sure seems to be a lot of seismic activity in this region. I wonder if we're building up or calming down.
