After only three days of trying to run the show in Palestine, Hamas is promising to get the security situation under control in Gaza. Ismail Haniya, the prime minister is using terms like "law and order."
On Friday night, the government held an emergency meeting after four people were killed. This was all sparked by the death of Abu Yousef Abu Quka, a senior commander of the Salah-a-Din faction of the Popular Resistance Committees in the Gaza Strip. His group blamed security forces of the Fatah movement. Of course, they also blamed Israel.
Now, the government has pledged "to remove all armed men from the street."
It is rather amusing to watch the Palestinian government suffer from the violence it worked so hard to create. All the hatred is now turning inward like a scorpion stinging itself to death. Well, they have one thing right, God is great.
