Nine terror suspects have been arrested in Indonesia according to this news report.
A Singaporean who met several times with Osama bin Laden was among the suspects arrested and a cache of powerful bombs packed with bullets was also seized in the raid.
Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation and has been hit in recent years by a string of suicide bombings that have killed more than 240 people. The regional terror group Jemaah Islamiyah has been blamed in those attacks.
The Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir is known for inciting violence. He has likened non-Muslims to crawling "worms, snakes, maggots". Yet, he was freed early from his 30 month sentence for conspiracy in the Bali bombings that killed over 200 people.
It will be interesting to see what sentences are handed out to this group. Hopefully the Singaporean will be turned over to his own country where justice most likely will be served swiftly.
