Yesterday on Newswatch, Cal Thomas wondered about the attention given to Michael Jackson, Robert Blake, Martha Stewart etc. rather than the important issues. He's right.

Fix the Fraud
A new bill is in the works, to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to deny citizenship at birth to children born in the United States of parents who are not citizens or permanent resident aliens.
Considering the abuse of people sneaking into this country to have their babies, something needs to be done to prevent this end run around the law. It was never intended for American citizenship to be obtained by breaking the immigration laws and making a mockery of due process.
At least some of our representatives are doing their jobs, now let's see they are supported in this attempt to fix a problem.

Syriaously, It's Assad Day
"President" Bashar al-Assad of Syria is in trouble. Two allies - Saudi Arabia, once a financier of Syria, and Russia, their main arms dealer - have told him to withdraw his troops from Lebanon.
If they don't have even Gaddafi to call on, it is indeed a sad day for Bashar al-Assad. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Assad flew to Saudi Arabia yesterday in search of a face-saving deal out of Lebanon.
Saudis said he was given the "cold shoulder" by Crown Prince Abdullah, who told him to remove his 14,000 troops "immediately".
The Saudis, who have been distancing themselves from Syria for several months, were outraged by the assassination last month of the former Lebanese prime minister, Rafik al-Hariri, who was close to the Saudi royal family.
Last night, Saudi officials virtually accused Damascus of killing Mr Hariri. Riyadh is now lending its weight to Lebanese mass protests that have forced out the pro-Syrian cabinet, and to calls by America and France to pull all soldiers and intelligence officers out of Lebanon.
Syria has long regarded Lebanon as its own territory, and Assad has so far given only vague promises to withdraw "within months".
Gulf officials say he has been seeking Arab support for a slow withdrawal after elections in Lebanon, and the right to keep remnants of his forces there as well as early warning stations supposedly as a defence against Israel.
But one Saudi official said yesterday: "The Syrians do not need any Arab intervention. The Lebanese government is pro-Syrian and answers to Syria's call. All the Syrians have to do is give the green light for the Lebanese to request them to leave. They are just dragging their feet."
Prince Abdullah also turned down a Syrian proposal for Saudi officials to lead the investigation into Mr Hariri's murder. "We feared it was a trap," said one Saudi source.
President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt is due to visit Damascus in the coming days, and officials in Cairo seem more willing to give the Syrians some political cover. "We want them to respect international law, but we don't want to humiliate them," said an Egyptian source. "They have said they plan to leave. We don't have to spit in their faces."
Not even Russia is standing up for one of its oldest Arab allies. Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, told the BBC: "Syria should withdraw from Lebanon." He added, however: "We all have to make sure this withdrawal does not violate the very fragile balance we still have in Lebanon, which is a very difficult country ethnically."
In Lebanon, the political crisis has intensified. Following the resignation of the prime minister, Omar Karami, the opposition has called for security chiefs to follow suit, and for Mr Assad to order Syrian troops to respect a United Nations resolution last year to leave the country.
The opposition has also tried to sideline the pro-Syrian president, Emile Lahoud, by opening direct negotiations with two key Syrian allies - the Shia groups, Amal and Hizbollah. A joint statement by pro-Syrian parties called for "the formation of a national unity government".
"The Syrians are finding it increasingly difficult to find support from their traditional Arab backers," said one Gulf source, "Not even Libya's Muammar Gaddafi is their friend any more."If they don't have even Gaddafi to call on, it is indeed a sad day for Bashar al-Assad. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Last week, I attended an economic focus meeting at one of our nearby cities. Part of the information handed out indicated that a local hospital had incurred expenses of about $450,000 annually, in recent years, due to treating illegals.
Think about it, that's one small border hospital. Multiply it many times to cover all the facilities in all the other border states.
Let's send those bills to Vincente and make him pay for his countrymen.
By the way, this does not include all the Mexican nationals we legally treat out of compassion because their own Mexico cannot or will not care for them. Why we're doing this when we have Americans with inadequate health care is a whole other issue.

Father and Son Run for the Border
Here's an interesting border incident. This happened in Harlingen, Texas not far from Brownsville and the, you guessed it, Mexican border.
A man linked to an armed robbery in Philadelphia who was attempting to flee to Mexico was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents near the bus station Thursday morning.
Chuck Roberson, assistant chief of the Border Patrol’s McAllen Sector, said that agents were conducting routine checks at the bus station in the 200-block of East Monroe Avenue when they approached two men waiting for a Mexico-bound bus. As agents questioned the men, the younger man ran off, Roberson said.
The men, whose names were not released, are believed to be a father and his 20-year-old son from Philadelphia. The men are Palestinian resident immigrants legally living in Philadelphia, Roberson said.
Palestinians, isn't that interesting. These guys sure came a long way to do work that Americans won't; but, wait, it gets better.
“The agent lost the suspect in a neighborhood in Harlingen,” Cervantes said. “At approximately noon, agents and Harlingen police officers observed the suspect on east Morgan Street, near the bus station. He was arrested and taken to the station to determine his nationality.”
Roberson said the father would be released, but FBI spokesman Rene Salinas said the son is wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Philadelphia and said the man would likely be arraigned in federal court today.
Salinas said it was highly unlikely that the pair were involved in any terrorist activity, but said the incident is still under investigation.
Why is the father going to be released if we haven't determined for certain if there is any terrorist activity? Did the father know about the armed robbery? If so, then he would be involved in the son's escape attempt. Are they both following all the requirements of legally registered aliens?
It seems like we're way too unconcerned with what aliens, both legal and illegal, are doing in our country.

It looks like we can't wait for the enemy to sock it to us again but this time it will be our own fault.
"The southern border is literally under siege, and there is a real possibility that terrorists -- particularly al Qaeda forces -- could exploit this series of holes in our law-enforcement system along the southern border," said Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz, Texas Democrat, testifying before the House immigration subcommittee.
Mr. Ortiz said that is particularly worrisome given the increase in "other than Mexicans," or OTMs, which is how border and immigration law-enforcement agencies refer to illegal immigrants from countries other than Mexico.
While Mexicans routinely are sent back across the border, non-Mexicans are processed and then, if no criminal record or terrorist background immediately is discovered, usually released in the United States under their promise to return for a deportation hearing.
Most never show up, witnesses testified yesterday.
"The more OTMs we release, the more we encourage their crossing in the first place," Mr. Ortiz said. "Until we have the resources we need -- the border patrol agents, the detention facilities and the appropriate technology -- to accurately screen these immigrants, they are going to continue to enter the country."
Mr. Ortiz said about 5 percent of captured illegal immigrants in fiscal year 2003 were OTMs, and there has been a 137 percent increase in OTMs this fiscal year.
T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said that by his reading Mr. Bush's proposed budget actually funds only 105 agents. He said while there's enough money to cover 210 positions, the budget document itself calls for only 105 full-time positions.
"It's a shell game, is all it is," he said.
Asked by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, the top Democrat on the committee, what the lack of funding would mean, Mr. Bonner said it was "just asking for another 9-11."
"We are just sticking our chin out and asking the terrorists to take a poke at us," he said.
The clarion call has sounded. We need to be in the field. Contact your representatives and our president. Tell them we will not tolerate another 9/11 caused by their failure to take proper measures. Secure our borders.

Byrd's Braying Again
Robert "Klansman" Byrd, dummocrat from West Virginia is now trying to deny he has compared the Republicans to Nazis.
The first criticism of Byrd came Wednesday when Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, issued a written statement.
"With his knowledge of history and his own personal background as a KKK member, he should be ashamed for implying that his political opponents are using Nazi tactics," Brooks said.
Of course, Byrd had a spokesman since it is obviously too dangerous to let the senile old bigot speak for himself.

Sonny and Chair
One day after the supremes gave us another "hit" decision, no electric chair for killers under 18, guess what?
A school bus driver was shot to death as she drove her route Wednesday morning and a male student was taken into custody, authorities said. No students were hurt.
The murderer is 15 years old, so I guess he won't have to worry about paying for the crime. We'll send him away just long enough to get a good criminal education and then we'll turn him loose on society.

Remove No, Eliminate Yes
I almost forgot to mention this one.
ICE detention and removal officers deported a man to El Salvador February who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The assault resulted in the girl becoming pregnant.
Eligio Hernandez-Zepeda, 40, of El Salvador, illegally entered the United States in 1990. He was arrested for the crime in Schuyler, Neb., in July 1997 and was convicted in April 1998 of first-degree sexual assault. He was sentenced to a term of not less than 10 years and not more than 15 years.
“Targeting people like Hernandez-Zepeda is a top priority for us,” said Scott Baniecke, St. Paul Field Office Director of the ICE Office of Detention and Removal Operations. “Those who victimize the most vulnerable among us will be sought out, apprehended and removed.”
Top priority? Removed? How about by lethal injection? How long before this mad dog is out and sneaking across our border again? How about this little girl whose life has been forever scarred by this animal?
Why aren't these incidents being publicized? Who's afraid of the public outcry? Can't we squeeze these news items in or is the supposed "abuse" of terrorists taking up too much room?
Some liberal kook will be looking to get this guy a job at the UN.

Is the freedom bug catching on in the Middle East? My opinion is, it's a little too soon to tell but things are looking up. This part of the world is a hard read and much as I would like to believe that liberty is looming over the horizon, there are too many factors and unknowns to make that call conclusively. Bush has definitely stirred the cauldron but I'm not sure what's brewing in there yet.

During his discussions, Nicley said he heard many good comments and came away with an even stronger feeling that people support the agents.
"Those people had good complaints. It's not about them understanding what we do. It's about American citizens living on American soil, being taxpayers saying this is a government responsibility and expect the Border Patrol to its job," Nicley said.
Stop patronizing us and fix the problem.

I found Sallust quoted in a magazine I'm reading and decided to post some of it here because I thought it so fitting. He is speaking about the Roman empire, but doesn't it sound familiar?

The Sinkhole Gets Deeper
I asked, just the other day, if Ward Churchill could sink any lower. Well it turns out he already has. Check out this at Michele Malkin's blog. This man rips off native American heritage, artwork and Lord knows what else.

Guilty by Profession
See this article in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Ward the Fraud Churchill is still at it.
He said if you read his essay, he called the "technicians" in the World Trade Center "little Eichmanns," a reference to Adolf Eichmann, who actually did not kill any Jews but made it possible for the trains to run on time and for the Holocaust to take place.
It's obvious, Churchill said, that he did not mean to say children, janitors, firefighters and innocent bystanders were part of that group. Instead, he said, he was referring to investment bankers and others who make the killing of innocents by the U.S. military and U.S. policy possible.
The all knowing Dunghill now attempts to back off from what he said by playing the class warfare card. Is there no depth to which this loathsome man will not sink?

Minutemen, Just a Second
See the article at Fox News regarding the civilian patrolling of our southern border.
The failure of our government to protect our sovereignty, our citizens and their property has led to a situation ripe for even more problems. I live in this area of southeastern Arizona, so I know firsthand how severe the invasion has become. At the same time, I am more than willing to allow our law enforcement to address the problem. But, what are we to do when funds are not allotted to support our Border Patrol and when no attempt is made to prevent those apprehended from returning? Our president winks at the problem, refusing to acknowledge it and permits the Mexican president and other officials to denigrate any attempt by the USA to protect itself.
If our representatives are more interested in protecting illegal aliens than legitimate citizens, then the people have not only the right but the duty to protect this land themselves.

James Loy, who was acting homeland security secretary until Tuesday's swearing-in of Michael Chertoff, told the committee that recent information showed "al Qaeda has considered using the Southwest border to infiltrate the United States." "Several al Qaeda leaders believe operatives can pay their way into the country through Mexico, and also believe illegal entry is more advantageous than legal entry for operational security reasons," Adm. Loy said.
Is anybody listening out there? Will it take a catastrophe worse than the towers to wake this country up. The threat is real, the danger great and our vulnerability is high. We are at war, when will we begin to act like it?

She is quoted as saying, "we have also seen that the program has revealed some basic weaknesses in our own internal systems". Hillary Hits the Pellet with the Poison
Tonight, I made a quick stop at the supermarket. I can't help myself, I scan the tabloids. The Globe, I think, had a headline about Hillary being poisoned.That's the reason she passed out.
I didn't read the story but my immediate reaction was, if she's poisoned, it's from the inside out.
You can only be filled with hate and venom so long, before it takes a toll on you.
Hate is self destuctive and we are witnessing it take its course, all spelled out in the word of God that they reject.

Comrades Castro and Chavez
With all the hoopla going on about Iraq, Iran and Korea we are missing problems growing closer to home. Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro have been playing nice together and this is not a good thing for us. Why we didn't take that cockroach, Castro, out long ago is beyond me. I suppose people thought he was insignificant and harmless, well here you go.
Chavez sells Castro cheap oil and Castro sends doctors, teachers and others to Venezuela.
Now, Chavez is threatening to beef up his military by buying sophisticated Russian migs etc. in case he is attacked by the US. One US senior administration official was quoted as saying, "We shoot down migs".
He visited Saddam while he was still in power (we should arrange for them to be roomies very soon) and opposed the war in Iraq. His reaction to the US assistance in removing Aristide from Haiti was to call Bush a pendejo. He is aiding Colombian rebels and generally making himself a pain in the butt in the region.
We now have two fanatics that are anti-American right next door to us. The future is going to be interesting.

Dean Doesn't Get It Yet
I was watching the news today and saw "mad dog" Dean trying to rally his troops. My favorite part was listening to him stumble over how the dems will attract Evangelicals and Catholics. There was no confidence in his voice, his words were unsure and his direction unfocused.
Howie admits he doesn't go to church often and is quite frank about switching denominations over a bike path dispute. What a theological war that must have been.
This is the kind of insincerity, shallowness and superficiality that keeps these guys losing. If they have religion it is only important in their lives as a photo op or endorsement. They invent their own God, quote the good book out of context thus advertising their ignorance.
They might try and talk to Lieberman and ask him to explain religion to them but I think they feel the party would be better off without him.
Oh well ignorance is bliss...but only where it's folly to be wise.

Nuclear North Korea
If the news that they have nukes is correct, we now have the biggest crisis of all on our hands. The first thing we need to do is pull our troops out of harms way and replace them with Jimmy Carter and Eason Jordan. They can be the protective shield for South Korea and since they both were in North Korea before and established special relationships there, I am confident no harm will come their way.
Next, we send Bill Clinton as an envoy to North Korea, this can be practice for him if he really is determined to run the UN. He can take as his assistant, Sandy Berger, who will "accidentally" smuggle out any existing war heads by concealing them in his socks and jock.
There are some minor details to be ironed out, but once we pull it off, Iran is next. After all Jimmy has experience with them.

Open Border, Open Fort
Fort Huachuca in Cochise County is not immune from the invasion of illegals and smugglers. The Sierra Vista Herald reports that, in the past 9 months, more than 2000 invaders have been detained at the fort.
In the latest incident reported in this article 58 were apprehended.
Why doesn't the government seem concerned about this? Is there not something wrong with over 50 people being able to penetrate into a restricted military area almost at will?
The issue of our sovereignty must be addressed. I'm hoping that the blogosphere will take this on as a crusade.

Cohen Calls Factor Fans Deranged
The Liberals are unraveling before our eyes. Richard Cohen of the Washington Post has an article about fellow looney Ward Churchill. Churchill, as you probably know, wrote that the 9/11 victims were nothing more than " little Eichmanns".
Bill O"Reilly gave Churchill more attention than he probably wanted or deserved. He gave out the name and phone number of the school where Churchill was scheduled to speak along with the presidents name and her email.
So, Cohen wrote this about O'Reilly; "blood dripping from his evil heart, he asked his deranged viewers to keep your comments respectable."
Too bad he didn't instruct Cohen likewise.

Eason Jordan, Euthanasia Poster Boy
Why is this guy still running around, employed by CNN? Remember people, this is the man who said he was told by Saddam's son Uday that they were luring Uday's brothers-in-law back to Iraq to be assassinated. They were later killed, Jordan had given no warning.
He admitted CNN concealed atrocities in Iraq for fear of reprisals by Saddam's government.
Now, he's saying journalists are being targeted in Iraq by our government.

Benon Sevan Says Grease My Palm
Let's keep an eye on this guy and see what happens. He was in charge of the "oil for food" program and expected to watch over how the proceeds were used. Joe Biden Bares Wife's Shoulders to Iranians
This is almost too silly for words. At the World Economic Forum, a dinner designed to promote dialogue between the US and Iran became a comedy of errors.
First, Senator Joe Biden was almost one and a half hours late because he went to the wrong hotel. While he was stumbling around, things were moving right along at dinner. Wine was served. Does anyone, besides our diplomacy challenged foreign relations people, not know that alcohol is taboo to muslims?
As if that wasn't enough they attempted to serve meat that did not conform to Islamic dietary rules. Also, the guests were relieved of their soup spoons for reasons no one seems to understand. If anything, it's the knives that probably should have been removed.
When Joe finally showed up, his wife had the forethought to modestly dress herself in tight leather pants and a top that (gasp!) exposed arms all the way to the shoulder. Come on, you're dining with a bunch of repressed, uptight mullahs who get excited by female hair and now you flash flesh at them. What gives?
I'm sure that put these Iranians in the right frame of mind to calmly discuss their nuclear program.

Reported on the local news here today in Cochise County, Arizona: In two seperate incidents shots were fired across the border at our law enforcement officials. This time, only equipment was damaged. Why isn't Vincente going to pay for it? He must have enough in his hidden bank accounts to easily pay for it by now.
How long are we going to tolerate this? If the situation were reversed wouldn't we have letters of official idignation coming our way? Hey, President Bush, when are you going to deal with this and if not, why not?

I had a visual as I was falling asleep. Hillary Clinton being interviewd.
Interviewer: "Do you believe in praying Senator?"
HC: "I've always been a preying person. Bill and I have always believed that the family that preys together, stays together. And, we have done that, plundering, pillaging and raping for our own gain. Yes, I would say we are definitely predatory with Bill probably the more rapacious.
Why if you ever watch Bill ogle some pretty young thing, it's the same look a lion has while watching a gazelle on the African veldt.
I, on the other hand, am more of a sophisticated despoiler, tending to have a long lasting injurious or wasting effect.
That is why I feel religion is so important to people. Without it, they are vulnerable to people like us.

Springtime for Hitler
I am completely mystified that people weren't repelled (many still aren't) by Michael Jackson ages ago. What does it take anymore to make people turn away from what only can be described as a grotesque life form. My God, we're still in awe of freaks and side shows; except now instead of putting them behind the curtain and peeking at them for a quarter we put them in front of the curtain and give them a quarter of a million. Hey, as long as you entertain us whatever you do is ok.
Thank goodness Hitler couldn't sing and dance or we'd have been waltzing him out every Oktoberfest to sing Deutschland uber alles and do beer commercials. If only son of Sam had been able to do a little soft shoe he might never have been convicted. Think of it, Charles and Marilyn Manson singing "You don't need analyzin' It is not so suprisin'. That you feel very strange but nice."

Caramba! Can You Believe It
Mexico is mad because we are warning our citizens about the danger of kidnapping and violence along our borders. The three caballeros, Vincente Fox, Santiago Creel and Luis Ernesto Derbez are shouting "Unfair". This, they say, is a result of a crackdown in Mexico on the drug cartels causing gang wars over the routes used to get the goods to the USA. And it's all our fault because if there wasn't a market for the stuff here they wouldn't be trying to smuggle it to us. I guess the illegal invasion of immigrants is our fault also because if we didn't have a robust economy people wouldn't be trying to sneak in. And, by the way, Creel says our complaints about this can be compared to Mexico's complaints about the treatment of Mexican migrants by US authorities and anti immigration groups.
Somebody needs to pound some sense into that clown. First of all the Americans visiting, (and Santiago there is a big difference between legally visiting a country and illegally sneaking into it) are in Mexico legally. The migrants, as you call them, are illegal invaders subject to our law enforcement. The other groups you mention are not anti immigration, they are anti lawbreakers.
Oh, and speaking of law enforcement there seems to be substantial evidence that some of your police may be involved in these assaults on our citizens. Mexican police, the best money can buy! Here are the stats: 27 Americans kidnapped, 2 dead, 11 missing and 14 released.
One last thing, those statistics don't include what is referred to as "express kidnapping" where you are taken to an ATM and forced to withdraw and handover sums of cash before you are let go.
Somehow in the depraved logic of these three clowns I'm sure Uncle Sam is responsible for everything. I suppose we could just drive our economy into the ground so there would be no jobs and money for drugs and we could coexist in poverty. Well, Vincente, that's not in the plans. Adolescent Anarchism and Abdication
This morning I started reading early, sometime around 3AM. I always get a helping of Michelle Malkin and after reading her and Misspatriot, I was shaking my head over those wanting to leave and those wanting to stay and make trouble just for the sake of trouble.
What we have sown over the last 50 years, we are now reaping. Our failure to parent correctly has left us with aged juvenile delinquents, who out of boredom (because they have never been taught to entertain themselves in socially acceptable ways) vandalize and engage in other destructive behavior. Their lives are meaningless rubble and they cannot accept that most of us are happy and playing productively. So they plan to destroy our playground.
Of course we also have the overgrown children, who act out by refusing to participate and plan to punish us by leaving the playground altogether. I suppose this is preferable to destoying the swings and slides for the rest of us.
One can only wish, they would grow up, go away or at the very least never be allowed to play unsupervised.

I'm sure one of our Latin neighbors would find your flag burning and refusal to recognize elected officials more charming than we do here. Drop us a card and let us know.
Or, you could head up north and involve yourself with the Quebec crowd. I'm sure they would be open to your brand of divisiveness that keeps a nation from being united.
Whatever you choose, do it quickly and allow the rest of us to go about our business for another four years until we all come together again to pass the power on peacefully once more. We are Democrats and Republicans second and Americans first. If that is unacceptable to you, than Vaya con Dios.

The atheists say men invented God to allay their fears but what is more fearsome than the Lord God Almighty? Psalms 111:10, " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;".
Next to the holiness of the Lord, all our flaws and sins are revealed and the pride of the atheists will not tolerate that. This is the same arrogance we see from the left and why they continue to fail to see the basis for the moral dilemma they face. Invasion of Cochise County
Here in southeastern Arizona the invasion continues. Recent apprehensions of illegals in the county from 12/31/04 through 1/9/05 were 2,531. Those were the ones that were caught, in Cochise county alone.
The Mexican excuse of a government should be charged for our costs. They encourage this invasion, they give sanctuary to murderers wanted by the US government and they rip off their own people.

Long lingering death for Osama bin (hiding out) Laden and his followers. Curses upon them.
Complete release of all military records of John Kerry (me back to ole Mass.).
In depth interviews with Dan Rather ( I hadn't lied about Bush) regarding his ghostly conversations at cBS.
Autobiographical documentary by Michael Moore (than anyone wants to see) where he inserts a cord in his navel, paints Goodyear on his side and trys to register himself in the Macy's parade.
These are just a few of my dreams. Have a great 2005!

Hey, we've got some Norwegian butt hook at the UN telling us we're not doing enough for the quake victims. The only reason this ungrateful piece of whale turd has a job is because of the money we flush down that toilet organization .
Hey Jan, how much are you giving? How about we take your totally undeserved compensation and give it to Sri Lanka? What the hell did Norway ever contribute....oh yeah. isn't that where the word quisling came from? Ask Kofi for some bucks, I'm sure he and his kid know where to lay their hands on some of our dough.

Berry, Berry Nuts
Is it true? Did Mary Frances resign from a job she no longer had ? Was reality intruding into her fantasy land ? I was hoping the US Marshall was going to pay her a visit for not vacating the office. But, Mary Frances could assign that job to herself also. "If I don't come out in 5 minutes, I'm coming in after myself."

A Day That Shall Live in Infamy
I just wanted to pay my respects to those who died at Pearl Harbor. I had one relative that I know of who died there, a cousin. I wasn't alive when it happened but my grandmother had a picture of him in his navy uniform, I believe his last name was Fox, but I'm not completely certain.
My grandmother was an Irish immigrant who loved this country and she never forgave the Japanese, well for that matter she never forgave the British for their atrocities in Ireland.

Reid vs. Thomas
So, Harry Reid thinks that Justice Thomas writes poorly and is an embarassment. I believe Harry was a lawyer, how good I don't know. It just seems the Democrats are having major issues with these uppity black conservatives. Would it have anything to do with Harry's membership in the LDS, which didn't change it's racist views on blacks until a new "revelation" in 1978 when Harry was almost 40 years old? Hmmm, I wonder if Harry was having any late night meetings with Senator Byrd as they compared autographed Lester Maddox ax handles (wasn't he a democrat also?) .

Canadian Clouseaus and the French Fumblers
The French have lost their training explosives and don't know where to find them! Not to be outdone our wannabe Frenchies north of the border have lost airport security uniforms and badges (about 1000 over the last 9 months). The Federal Transport Minister is Jean Lapierre and the president of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority is Jacques Duchesneau. Some of the missing items were discovered on ebay.
This must be quite a group. I wonder what these guys used to lose before security was beefed up!

The Ghost and Mr. Rather
I was listening to News Watch on Fox yesterday and Dan Rather's name came up. No one even mentioned his communication with the incorporeal entity at the CBS building. No one scoffed about Edward R. Murrow haunting the third floor and "watching over" CBS land.
I wonder what the press reaction would be if President Bush were having conversations with Abraham Lincoln ? If one claims to be attempting to communicate with God the press scoffs and ridicules and implies you're a danger to civilization. But, one of their own converses "many times" with the ghost of CBS past and not an eye is blinked. Where is the demand to outfit him in an "I love myself" jacket and rubber pants and put him in a padded cell with roommate Andy Rooney. There they can tilt at windmills while Edward Murrow acts as oracle continuing with sage advice like the reporting of the National Guard memos.
Tell us, where now is the disdain for the supernatural, why no raised eyebrows? What makes "Dementia Dan" so free of criticism.
