Grasping The Obvious By Homeland Security

Our ever incompetent Homeland Security Department has only just discovered that fraud in the religious worker visa program is rampant. It seems they are amazed to find out that 33% of the visas granted are based on fraudulent information. People actually lie to the government!

"We found that the program had been compromised and the fraud rate was excessively high," Emilio Gonzalez, head of Citizen and Immigration Services at Homeland Security said. I would like to know what amount of fraud Emilio and his fellow security stooges think is not excessive and therefore acceptable. I thought it took only one bad guy getting access to this nation to wreak havoc, but I'm sure perfection is not the goal of Homeland Security.

However, Homeland Security will now plan to implement new regulations in an effort to prevent radical groups from using the visa program to get terrorists into the U.S. The regulations will allow inspectors and Customs officials to investigate religious organizations sponsoring applicants to assure that they are legitimate. What a plan, what insight!

They will also demand more proof from applicants that they are qualified for the job they're seeking, and require proof of employment after one year on the job before extending a visa.

Are these geniuses amazing or what? Why don't I feel the least bit more secure and why do I think we are wasting our tax dollars overpaying these rent a cop rejects for even showing up to work? Maybe we need the IRS to keep an eye on things.
