Attrition Working In Arizona

The Tucson Citizen reports that the defeat of shamnesty (they call it comprehensive immigration reform) , law enforcement crackdowns, Arizona's new employer-sanctions law and a sluggish economy (meaning their are fewer jobs for Americans) have have created a climate illegal invaders no longer find hospitable. Many are leaving the state and the country.

So, attrition is working and we can solve the problem of lawbreakers taking up residence at will in our country. Wow, isn't it amazing what can happen when we follow the law. Once the sanctions law takes effect in January, even more illegals are expected to leave.

Rosendo Hernandez, president of the advocacy group Immigrants Without Borders said, "If people can't find work, they won't be able to pay their bills, so they will leave."

"That is the whole purpose of the (sanctions) law," said state Rep. John Kavanagh, R-Fountain Hills, "to not only stop people from coming, but to have these who are here illegally go back to whence they came. They shouldn't be here."

Amen, Congressman, amen!
