Unruly Neighbor

Mexico is complaining again. The problem this time is at the border near Tijuana. It seems Mexico thinks it's perfectly ok for its smugglers and gangsters to hurl rocks, bricks and bottles at American citizens and law enforcement. Sometimes they use ball bearings and slingshots.

The Border Patrol has responded with tear gas or pepper spray. This is because when Mexican authorities are contacted they take hours to respond if they come at all. They're probably waiting for their customary bribe.

Now, Mexico's acting consul general in San Diego, Ricardo Pineda, has the gall to insist that U.S. authorities stop firing onto Mexican soil. He should be thankful we're not using live rounds. Why do we allow these assaults on our nation to continue?
