Lizzy In Another Tizzy

Elizabeth Edwards frightens easily. Her biggest fear is rabid Republicans. Even though she never met her neighbor, Monty Johnson, she was scared of him and said, "I wouldn't be nice to him anyway."

Monty said of John Edwards,
"I thought he was supposed to be for the poor people, but does he ever socialize with any poor people? He doesn't speak to me." Of course not, Monty, John is only interested in the politics of poverty, he doesn't want to get any on himself or muss that expensive hairstyle.

Meanwhile, Lizzy is frightened again by Republican demons.
"Republicans should scare us in a lot of ways," Edwards said as she was introducing her husband at a town hall in Dubuque, Iowa. Regarding Mike Huckabee, she noted he "doesn’t believe in evolution and has some nutty views about what it is we should do about ending violence in our inner city." She then went on to expound on her fear of the evil Karl Rove and "swift boating."

She summed up her ode to paranoia by asking us to believe that her husband John could take on the Republican attack machine. "We have to have a candidate who stands up, can take the punches and give it back to them."

If the Republican attack machine wants to have at John, they will have to look behind Lizzy's skirts.
