It Came From The Draining Swamp

The House Democrat caucus has approved Pelosi's next "good government" pick. This time it's William Jefferson's appointment to the Homeland Security Committee. This is the same guy who was booted from the House Ways and Means Committee after federal prosecutors alleged he had taken $90,000 in cash in a bribery sting and stashed it in his freezer.

It wasn't long ago that Nancy said, "There is no question that the ethics process in the past couple of years has lost the confidence of the American people." And, "I honestly believe that you cannot advance the people's agenda unless you drain the swamp that is Washington."
She didn't tell us that she was draining the swamp to locate the most heinous and repulsive of its denizens in order to place them on important committees.

The ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Peter King of New York, said Pelosi's selection of Jefferson sent "a terrible message." That, Mr. King is what's known as an understatement.
