It hasn't been good for Hillary these last few days. Obama cleaned her clock in Iowa and her big donor, Norman Hsu, was sentenced to three years in prison.
Hillary and her minions may try and downplay her third place finish in Iowa, but it has to be hard to come in behind the Breck girl, Johnny Edwards.
Edwards is now casting himself as the come from behind kid, a role Hillary would like to have for herself. “I’m the underdog,” Edwards told reporters following an organizing event in New Hampshire. “There’s no question about that.” And he's certainly a well groomed one, at that.
At rallies, Elizabeth Edwards seemed to be pandering to PETA as she described her husband as both a horse and a dog.
“Seabiscuit was the horse of the working class, you know, owned by a bicycle repairman, and ridden by someone who wasn’t supposed to be able to make it,” she said. “But that’s what this campaign is about, isn’t it? The dog who wasn’t supposed to be able to make it.” Cue the theme from Lassie.
Edwards is even trying to snatch the "change" crown for himself. “What we learned last night is that the status quo is yesterday,” Edwards told a crowd. “Change is tomorrow and tomorrow begins today.” But, if it's change we want, haven't we seen Clinton and Edwards too many times before?
