Sara Jane Moore Paroled

Sara Jane Moore, who attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford in September of 1975, has been released from the federal women's prison in Dublin, outside San Francisco, California.

At the shooting, a bystander lunged at Moore just as she fired a .38 caliber revolver, deflecting the shot. Had it not been for his action, the bullet probably would have struck President Ford.

Moore recently had a parole hearing, but it is not known what may have prompted her release.

Why anyone who attempts to take the life of our nation's leader would not receive the death penalty is hard enough to understand. How they would ever be allowed to see the light of day is beyond comprehension.

What is frightening is she sounded in the seventies like the thousands of politically motivated psychotics we have on the loose today.

Sara Jane said, “The government had declared war on the left. Nixon's appointment of Ford as vice president and his resignation making Ford president seemed to be a continuing assault on America."

Sound all too familiar?
