Bush To Vigorously Enforce Some Laws

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush called on Congress on Saturday to approve a controversial free-trade pact with Central America and sought to assure Americans that U.S. trade laws will be 'vigorously' enforced. Bush will hold a White House swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday for U.S. Trade Representative Robert Portman.

Will it be as 'vigorously' enforced as our immigration laws, Mr. President? Those laws are the ones being broken right now by the same Central American countries. Why are we rewarding them?

And while we're on the subject, we the people, would appreciate vigorous enforcement of all our laws. Selective enforcement reduces respect for the rule of law.
