Look who have become bedfellows. When you make a pact with the devil it costs you your soul. McCain, ever eyeing the oval office, is trying to project himself as a deal brokering moderate that can work with everyone. I'm sorry to say he's from my home state but hopefully this little piece of treachery will spell his downfall.
A man who allies himself with Byrd and Kennedy and ignores the will of his constituency in dealing with illegal aliens, is not getting my vote. A man with no soul is a man with no conscience.
Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona
"This agreement is meant in the finest traditions of the Senate ... trust, respect and mutual desire to see the institution of the Senate function in ways that protect the rights of the minority."
Sen. Robert Byrd, D-West Virginia
"We have lifted ourselves above politics and we have signed this document in the interest of the United States Senate -- in the interest of freedom of speech, freedom of debate and freedom to dissent in the United States Senate."

Agreed, Maggie, and the fact that he is allowed to babble on in the hallowed halls of Congress only underscores the hypocrisy of his peers and the ignorance of those who voted for him.
Republicrat Mc Cain is a master of duplicity and pandering. He represents everyone and no one.
Well said, Billybudd, well said.
