Milque-Toast Diplomacy

The Commander of the Arizona National Guard, Major General David Rataczak, will testify today before a homeland security committee of the state Legislature. He is expected to be questioned about the incident earlier this month when Guard troops fell back as armed men, wearing bulletproof vests, approached their post near the Mexican border. The Guard contacted the Border Patrol who were unable to locate the invaders.

"As I learn more about this, I am more alarmed about this situation," said Republican Representative Warde Nichols of Chandler, the committee chairman, who believes the troops should have captured the gunmen.

The National Guard seems to have done as it was instructed and therefore it is difficult to fault them. The real fault is with the Federal Government that uses the Guard for "show" and seems to think it is completely acceptable for armed incursions to occur along our border at regular intervals. Is no one appalled that gun toting foreigners are crossing into US territory as they wish and no one in Mexico is held to account for it? Where is the outcry from the media?

What pathetic Milque-toasts we have as "leaders". Teddy Roosevelt must be spinning in his grave.
