What Day Is It?

Today's the Day! Stacy at NotADesperateHousewife take heed!

United Poultry Concerns Proudly Announces

International Respect for Chickens Day

Wednesday May 4, 2005

"They would rather die for their chicks than seek safety in flight . . ."

Aldrovandi – 16th century

Chickens are cheerful, intelligent birds. The mother hen tenderly cares for her chicks, and roosters protect their families and flocks.

Please do an ACTION for chickens on May 4. Show the world that chickens are people too! Ideas:

  • Write a letter/op-ed to the editor
  • Get on a radio talk show
  • Table at your local mall
  • Arrange a library display/video presentation
  • Have a Respect for Chickens Day celebration at your school
  • Leaflet at a busy street corner/ your local university
  • Have a We-Don’t-Eat-Our-Feathered-Friends Vegan Party!
  • Show Chicken Run!!!

These people have obviously never been around chickens. I HAVE SEEN INSECTS THAT ARE SMARTER THAN MY CHICKENS!!!! Hell, navel lint is smarter than a chicken. I'll look for white vans driving up and down my street though. WooHoo -- Vegans Rule!

Wait, I'm not done. Roosters care about one thing and one thing only, mounting the poor hens over and over and over. My hens end up bald because the roosters are always horny! And . . . when a hen has chicks the other hens and especially the roosters try and kill them. You have to seperate the chicks from all the other chickens because they will kill them. I also had a homosexual rooster that they killed. I had a long post about him that I have since deleted, but chickens kill their fags. What do they have to say now?????????
