Napolitano Keeps On Screwing Arizona

God help my home state. Napolitano has been a nightmare and now she leaves a legacy that will haunt us for years to come. She knows the voters of this state will never give her the leftist agenda she's looking for so she'll backdoor us through the courts.

Gov. Janet Napolitano picked a longtime legal and political ally Tuesday for the Arizona Supreme Court, putting her stamp on a court that may soon have the final say in such topics as gay marriage and publicly financed elections.

The selection of Scott Bales, who worked with Napolitano in the Attorney General's Office and on her successful 2002 gubernatorial campaign, gives the Democrats a 3-2 majority on the court.

At a time when many courts throughout the country are becoming more conservative, Arizona's highest court could be becoming more liberal. It already has faced criticism from conservative legislators, who have objected to "activist judges" legislating with their gavels.

Bales, who clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, has known Napolitano since 1983. He has been a Democrat since 1996, when he switched from the Republican Party. He worked with Napolitano when she was U.S. attorney and served as solicitor general when Napolitano was Arizona's attorney general.

One outspoken conservative group questioned Bales' close relationship with Napolitano. The Center for Arizona Policy called Bales a "Democratic Party activist and a Napolitano crony who has followed her from job to job for years."
