On That Day

A new ocean is forming at the Afar Triangle near the Horn of Africa and Africa will eventually lose its horn. It won't be long until the Red Sea floods the region and the ocean that will then be born will split Africa apart. The triangle, which cuts across Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti, is the meeting place of three of the earth's platee. The African and Arabian plates are pulling apart causing the ground to sink.

Geologists were on the plains of Ethiopia recently when the earth began splitting under their very feet. They were witnessing the birth of an ocean.

Read more about it at an interesting article at Speigel Online. And also, check out Popular Mechanics.

It does remind me of Zechariah 14:4, "On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south."
