Conflict Of Interest

From the Detroit Free Press:

State Rep. Joel Sheltrown thinks adulterous husbands or wives shouldn't be allowed to keep food or medical treatment from a spouse who's unable to make those decisions.
Sheltrown is drafting legislation to address an issue surrounding brain-damaged Terri Schiavo in Florida. Schiavo's parents say her husband, Michael Schiavo, wants to disconnect her feeding tube and hasten her death so he can marry his girlfriend with whom he has two children.
What a grasp of the obvious! Do you think Michael might have an ulterior motive? What are the odds?

I'm surprised that the obvious mal-intentions of Michael are not a bigger point in this case... well, actually I'm not. If the media can keep attention focused on whether Schiavo's condition warrents her death (something liberals think they can be "principled" about), they can keep the public from realizing what is really happening here is that Michael Schiavo is trying to kill his wife, so he can run away with her money. And that's something even a liberal can't support without losing face.
