Long Island authorities have arrested 41 people suspected of manufacturing or possessing fake drivers' licenses, Social Security cards, passports and other official forms of identification.
"False identities are the cornerstone of terrorists' ability to operate through virtually undetectable and unidentifiable means," Nassau District Attorney Denis Dillon said yesterday. "We are no longer dealing with poor-quality, plastic, laminated photos."
Dillon said Uniondale's Henry Flores, a former employee of the Nassau County Information Technology Department, "on several occasions sold phony New York state drivers' licenses to undercover investigators."
Flores is charged with five counts of possession of a forged instrument.
No suspect has any ties to terrorist organizations, authorities said.
