Habla Gardening?

From Bakersfield California comes this story about a man who's getting grief for running an ad advertising his gardening business. The ad says, "having problems communicating with your current gardener?--Talk to us, we're English speaking".

Some Hispanics are calling the add racist.
“You know, it sounds very racist to me. It just opens up a can of worms,”said Lou Gomez, the President of the Hispanic Chamber of commerce. Now, that is an ill thought out statement in the first place. Opening a can of worms would probably be an excellent gardening tool but, let's get back to the matter at hand.

At the worst, this may not be politically correct but, it certainly isn't racist. If communicating in English is an asset to the service being sold then this man has every right to advertise it. If it isn't, then he's wasted his money which is a punishment in itself.

Every rational person knows this racial and ethnic sensitivity crap has gotten way out of hand.
